  • Guiding the YZ125 through some of the different sections we encounter as we learn the trails. Some slow, some fast, most are simple enough but good practice.

Nice vid! I ride a YZ 125 too, our vids are similar. Nice hill climes, I totally find helmet cameras really make them look way less steep than they really are, but we know better. 💯%

Also your camera angles seem fine to me!

Thanks man! The GoPro definitely doesn't do any justice to how steep some hills are, up or down. It also doesn't really pick up how deep ruts are. I find myself watching vids wondering why I'm going so slow then I remember there are shitty ruts everywhere just waiting to wash my front wheel. Thanks for watching.

Very cool! I'm currently using a 98 yz125 for trail riding, I enjoy listening to the clutch technique

Nice of you to call it "technique". I found out at the end of the season that the clutch was in bad shape. Broken friction plates, grooved housing, the works. Thanks for watching.

How often are you pulling in the clutch

On a 125 two-stroke in the woods, my left index finger never leaves the clutch unless I'm WFO. Whenever I need to let the engine rev out a little I'm pulling the clutch a little. So pretty much always and everywhere. Thanks for watching!

PA Trail Riders Thanks for the response. Was just wondering since some of the trails here in Idaho are like that and wanted to know what you did to get up the hills.

I'll bet there are some badass hills in Idaho. As a general rule, whether you're riding a 2 stroke or 4 stroke, a hill is made at the bottom. Grab a low gear, probably second, get your revs up, get your speed up and be aggressive approaching the hill. Momentum is key. Shift your weight back and STAY ON THE GAS. If your clutch is set up properly you should only have to feather it up the hill as you negotiate rocks and ruts and slick spots. If you find yourself losing speed and momentum halfway up a steep hill it's probably better to bail and give it another run from the bottom. Watch my cousin Clayton AKA Kid Powerband attack the hill that we named after him on his YZ80. Full gas, no hesitation, feathering the clutch over obstacles, and keeping it WFO. ua-cam.com/video/1NWsbQIP22s/v-deo.html

+anthonyw13 How do you mean? I know there are a couple of spots where it's off-center, but that was because a branch or a vine had tried to rip it off of my head. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching.
