Hey ya'll! Today on my channel we are reacting to some shady MLM scams getting called out on social media. Multi-level marketing scams are EVERYWERE and extremely annoying. Arbonne, Younique, Monat, Mary Kay, the last goes on and on. But there's an entire reddit group dedicated to exposing and calling out MLMs and we're going to laugh at the screenshots today. Enjoy :)

As a cancer patient, I've had "friends" try to get me with drinks for "gut health," organic cleaners, and Pampered Chef as ways to either "get me healthy" or help make "easy' money by selling their products while in treatment. The drink person actually tried to argue that my oncologist was wrong when I told her some of the ingredients interfered with my chemo meds. Most have been blocked.

So, I’m a bigger girl. When I got engaged, someone I went to college with who I hadn’t talked to in years sent me a message asking if I want to try It Works to get rid of weight before the wedding. 🙄 When I turned her offer down and tried to just have a normal conversation with her she gave short responses and obviously didn’t want to talk to me because I wasn’t interested. It was so ridiculous.

I have once overheard a conversation in public between two awful people talking about how their friend being diagnosed with cancer was the "perfect opportunity" to convince him to get involved in Young Living. They obviously had zero concern for this friend, didn't once say anything sympathetic about them - in fact they were so excited at the prospect of him singing up that they went on their phones to find payday loan places in the area in case he claimed he wasn't able to afford to sign up because "we have to get the ball rolling as soon as possible on this, we don't want anybody beating us to the punch".

My employer got me into Young Living. And then tried to get me in on a bunch of other get rich schemes. Like. My actual employer. Who kept saying it would help my mom's autoimmune disease. If it had been coming from literally anybody else I wouldn't have fallen for it, but I trusted her and was very vulnerable at the time because my mom was suffering so much, she could barely get out of bed.
:( I'm glad I wised up after losing JUST a couple hundred bucks, the cost for the initial kit. MLMs are disgusting.

Been there. The YL rep I know, a really nice lady, told me how certain oils would help my type one diabetic daughter's blood sugar. Especially the insanely expensive fruit juice based drink they sell. As if the fruit juice wouldn't send her blood sugars sky high. The sad thing is that this lady really believes in the stuff and uses it on her children.

I became a rep for a well known cosmetics company 6 years ago & after attending a "sales seminar" I realised it was effectively a pyramid scheme. I joined because I actually liked the products, but at that tìme you could only order through a rep & I didn't know one. I've had so many issues with them over the years & at first there was a lot of pressure to recruit - which would be extremely difficult given most of my customers were disgruntled former reps (who also liked the product, not the company)! Eventually, they gave up on me & just accepted that I was never going to "progress" or be a "team player".
I don't make any money, but I do get a discount on the stuff I buy; my friends ask me when they want something & all the company emails get sent to spam! 🤣

Once, as I was doing some part-time job at Disney (Paris), we hosted a banquet for a MLM. Many of the waiters, me including, where approached by the guests. My bf got interested an contacted one of them. When we had to postponed our appointement to join, the girl responded to us like shit. Now at Disney, when they host this kind of evening they explicitly forbid you to accept any invitation from the guests. MLM basically preid on young precarious workers, as are most part-time workers at Dinsey, to enroll them. Don't fall for it.

"Jesus was a home-birthed, breastfed, vax free baby, and his first guests brought essential oils"
Jesus was also born before vaccines were invented, wet nurses were required for couples who were unable to breast feed or the baby would die, and pretty much everyone birthed at home or at a midwife's home, even royalty. Frankincense and myrrh were often used in BURIALS to make the corpse not smell so bad while everyone was having a funeral. The infant mortality rate was insanely high and Jesus being born in a stable full of animals people often get zoonotic infections from was playing a wheel of luck where most of the spaces say "you gonna die".

@@audreygibson4780 yeah. I mainly had Instagram because I'm in university. I know this girl who followed me on IG who used to go to my university before she graduated, and told me to promote her "business" her and her mom were having. I didn't know she was a part of MLM, so I promoted her account and followed her (I unfollowed in March, I think and there's a reason why). Weeks later I learned she was a part of a coffee selling brand that promotes that it makes you lose weight and gummies that help with the skin and stuff. I had ignored her account after I promoted her account as my IG was just knew and I barely remembered to use it. I search up the company and it wasn't FDA approved and she's skinny already, so I don't know why she takes the coffee. She always showed on her post inspirational stuff with why you should join and a sheet of paper on how much you can earn. I don't like the idea the company is promoting and it's obviously not a good thing to have. I wanted to say something about it to her, but I still haven't. It also became apparent later on that she is just the one being a part of MLM, so I don't know why she included her mom in the beginning to me. She has also recruited other people with her. It's not worth it and all of stories are on the company and it was so annoying having to watch her stories to know that.

I was in a low moment in my life without a job and this girl who knew from college suddenly came into my life and insisted we meet, because I know I am fat and unattractive I deduced it wasn't because she "liked me" so I kept insisting on knowing why we need to meet every time she insisted we meet, so one time she came out with it "I have this great opportunity for you to make money, like tons of money, all you have to do is pay like 15K and invite people in and you will be set, you will be rich", I just told her this is a pyramid scheme, she was not convinced, and she was not convinced she couldn't convince me, so she kept insisting we meet, at the end she said "if you sat with me and I showed you the papers and the graphs you will 100% want to join", I was sad because this was the first and last time a woman insisted I meet with her.

When I decided to try out some essential oils because a friend's mom gave me something to try (which actually helped me with an issue - results always vary), I bought mine from walmart or amazon instead of the site she sent me to (which was 99% a MLM). lol. Price DOESN'T equal quality, and only an insane person would spend 70 bucks on a tiny bottle when the 10 buck bottle would work just the same, due to the fact that there is no regulations on these things. I don't think there's too much wrong with the products themselves, but they're not the miracle cure that these people like to think they are. What might help one person might not help another, and it sure as hell ain't a cure for any diseases, ESPECIALLY not cancer or anything else. I guess I just don't understand how people actually get this.... delusional...

But yeah, most products suck and i feel sad when i see someone trying to sell

I sometimes get headache relief by sniffing tea tree oil, but it doesn't always work and then I have to take Aleve. I would never promote it as some miracle cure-all, and I sure wouldn't tell someone to buy a ridiculously expensive brand when, like you say, the ten dollar bottles will do.
There's this whole philosophy nowadays of "If it's natural, it's perfect with no negative effects!" A lot of natural things are good, but just because something is natural doesn't mean it's good, and this belief that "Natural stuff is completely harmless!" is dead wrong and harmful (In addition, something could be safe used one way, but not others). Mike Rowe (on an episode of Dirty Jobs with a segment at a charcoal business) gave a great response to the "Natural stuff can't hurt you!" nonsense, saying something like, "Sharks are natural! Hurricanes are natural!"

When I was diagnosed with cancer, you would not believe the people that came out of the wood work, MOSTLY GOOD, yet there were those who were out to try and sell you something.

I don't think she lost her house all because of mlms but I think they made her believe that mlms would help her save it and it made the situation worse

    Awww.
That's fantastic the mlm person got given such good advice from her friend about the situation .
Informed is good...even if it's not actually 'good' news .
    It will be eventually 🙏

I think it IS Mo-NAT, it's short for "Mother Nature" or something silly like that? At least that's what Illuminaughtti said in her videos about it...

Sounds like you know your condition well! Trust your endocrinologist. Idk where you are located or what insurance you may or may not have, but I hope you have access to evidence based medical equipment such as an insulin pump, continuous glucose monitoring device, etc., if it suits your needs.

@@jenniferwintz2514 I have an omnipod (pump) but cannot afford a CGM as my insurance won't cover it because they deem it "elective." Would love a CGM, but I'm stuck poking myself multiple times a day 😂 other than that my A1C is almost done recovering from my teenage "I don't care" years (down to about 8.9 now) so that's good at least lol. Thank you! :D

it is not curable? maybe the people selling know nothing about it or are desperate to shove it to you hoping that you would be desperate enough to buy it

@@arielruby13 it's not curable because it is the complete organ failure of the pancreas. You cannot bring a dead organ back to life and they have not perfected the act of transferring a pancreas to another body as the human body rejects it.

The WORST is when someone you haven’t spoken to in years messages you and you think “awww, I might have a new girl friend to go get coffee with.” And you see an MLM ad.

Im not sure which I dislike more, having people try to sell me on their wellness scams, Im in advanced heart failure and on insulin, even had one tell me that if I took their supplement I could throw my insulin away.........or the ones who want to pray for you in the supermarket.
