I did this with a 2016 CRV. I had to make it 9 inches high because of the way the rear seats fold. I spent 2 weeks this past April on a trip to the western US and slept comfortably every night with my 40 pound dog. I had plenty of room for my 6'1" 300 pound frame. It's amazing to have a camper that gets 32 mpg.

This sounds like such an awesome trip! Having a camper that gets 32 mpg is an underrated detail.
Expensive platform. Wish I had the skills to make one.
The CRV does actually fold down without that hump you speak of. You simply lift the back platform up and slide it in the upper slot. Easy peasy!
Yes, this is a good tip! I've found this to be true in some generations of the CR-V, but not all of them.
What about on the 2025 hybrid model? Having a roadtrip coming up soon plan on camping in the back
@@dawsn6 Yes, this fits the 2025 Hybrid Model.
Do you know if the hump can be eliminated by raising the cargo area?
I will test out the height-adjustable cot before making a $900 purchase.
