If we give space for women to make films like this about divine powerful shaman women - this world will heal. Thank you for making this film. It is medicine in its own right. The sound and the spaciousness of this project is so generous. The writing is placed so gently and it is a relief to experience a documentary which allows the viewer room to place their own mind at rest to receive. Thank you. Muchas gracias.
its a lovely documentary! as somebody with over 25 years experience with psychedelics myself i would certainly initially personally avoid tripping in a place that has to have 2 armed guards on patrol around me and guided by a person married 5 times with a much younger spouse and 3 year olds being given it and 8 year olds tripping but thats no judgement on her at all just merely a far away observation that i would personally choose to avoid while being in the most psychologically vulnerable state of my life
A truly independent film about a truly interdependent Shaman. :) A place where woman centered power is thriving. All together and for everyone. Imagine that. Simple, direct and sensitive. It’s refreshing to be reminded of what good journalism looks like, which is staying out of the way so the story can tell itself. Great camera work and sound. The music tracks actually enhanced the storyline. Brava! Many thanks..
I'm so happy to see a film made by a woman about a female shaman. This is very important. Beautiful work -- I love the Shipibo and the medicine and have benefited greatly from their songs, the plants and the deep tradition that I hope is able to survive.
Yes, a beautiful piece I loved this so much as well, created by a woman about a woman. Truly incredible. Thank you again. I have shared with many amazing friends and communities who have greatly benefited from the energy of these plants, and this work.
I'm only 20 minutes in. This film needs to be seen by more people. This is an exceptional work of art. I am fascinated by ayahuasca, shamanism, healing, the amazon, culture, and anthropology. This is literally the exact type of documentary I love. So glad I came upon an ad on instagram for this. Will certainly watch the whole film. Thank you to the filmmaker!
If more people went out of their body and experienced them selves as animals they would better understand shamanism and the connection to everything when the self is trancesended as one. There is however places we wish not to see. Mind is the illusion or the trap, to the greater extent of what we are capable when we merge with the soul.
Beautiful film letting the jungle sing and the people be as they are with the soft voice over. The ending when the man bowed in reverence towards the shaman was deeply felt. Thank you for sharing.
This is true and I appreciate seeing this authentic Shaman woman in her natural surroundings and I especially loved seeing how she gathered the herbs for the medicine.❤
Estella is a very special lady... I had my very first cup of medicine with her in 2016 right before she started her center and she was still dealing with her abusive husband. So lovely to see how she is doing now! And shedding a short insight on the issue with the younger generations to continue down this path. Thank you for bringing her story and work in such a nice, yet raw, but very clear way.🙏💚
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. She spoke about him a bit with us (and I mentioned it in the doc as well, of course) - but it's interesting that you were there during that period. She was very gracious in sharing herself with us.
@victorialynncarroll Well I met her at Dreamglade. She didn't had her center yet. So this is a huge change to see. I heard she opened her own place from the people of the other center and to see it now after all those years, amazing! Wishing you good luck with your projects and journey 😉
Did she heal her abuse trauma ? I would like to do ayahuasca but I delay it for years because I don't want to do it with a man. I know that there are a lot of abuse and spiritual attacks while your field is open.
@@sabrinad3679 That's part of the job... Those things can not really be avoided and are not a big problem when you sit in a safe space with the right person. Estella is a good place to go if you don't want to drink with a man.
I am going to the Aya Madré Healing Center in Iquitos this November 24th 2024 for an extended plant medicine retreat. I had seen the movie ‘’ The song that calls you home ‘’ but I am now thrilled to watch this ‘’ She is a shaman ‘’ documentary couple days before I take off this this plant medicine journey with Maestra Estella. Thank you for sharing this. Deep love. Marc
It's a beautiful movie; thank you. It seems she is truly a genuine healer, there are just a few things that bother me. One of them is that I would be very careful with people who claim not to have an ego... If you just give it another thought - who claims it? I spent four months in Pucallpa in 2021, where I was invited by a Shipibo family to help them run their center. My experience was a nightmare that included brujeria.A tough life lesson with many consequences. It was a challenging time, but it ultimately brought great wisdom as with all significant lessons. We often forget that shamans, gurus, therapists, and anyone who works with other people are also just humans with their gifts and flaws at the end of the day. Just like the rest of us.
Stunningly shot and peacefully directed, this is a piece of art. Thankyou for sharing the earth magic of this powerful woman. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
I have been on my own healing journey for the last 12 years. I have been training under two very powerful woman shamans. They have taught me how to reconnect with my heart, soul and innate power through shamanism and love after half a lifetime of suffering from every kind of trauma. I never would use ayahuasca because I don’t need to, but I understand those that try to help themselves through the use of it. I also found it interesting when you said that they burn the plastic and it cleanses the center. This is a fine example of how our power of intention and our perceptions are so very important. We can also heal beautiful Mother Earth and every living being through shamanism, if we can survive the breakdown of the old systems and the people who want to power over people and everything else. Intention, knowing ourselves, living from our heart center and intuition and understanding we are all one is so important in the leveling up of consciousness. Wonderful movie and well-made!!! 🪶🩵
Takes me back to my time in the Peruvian Jungle, where I sat with a 4th generation plant medicine healer for many (alternating) nights..............These Shipibo men and women were truly Curanderos......Healers, who use all manner of plant medicine, not just Aya, to assist people. Such a dramatically difference approach and result from sitting with the Ayahuasca Tourism which has become so prevalent in the Amazon (young people from all over the planet who have very limited experience with the medicine, yet charge a premium to serve Aya to people)..................so great to see this doc - hope it reaches all the right people • such a powerful medicine, at a time when the world truly needs it's insights....................best wishes from the Canadian Wilderness.............

I visited few shamans in 2024 in Europe, working with different types of medicines during my travels and my own training. I saw the jealousy among them very real and very damaging, as if there wasn't enough people needing their services. I also saw shamans giving medicine who themselves needed therapy and healing... My experience taught me...pick your shaman wisely, pick someone who him/herself is healthy, strong, wise and has good own family life... Unhealed shaman is a risky bet in my view... Look at their body, feel their energy, look at their face, is it relaxed? Is there kindness in the eyes? Do they smile, laugh, is there lightness, calmness, empathy, care, good boundaries, respect etc... How are they treating their assistants and employees....it's all important to pay attention to when making a choice. Are they explaining things, are they inviting and offering or pushing and forcing things? Also in my opinion best to work with teams, where there's at least one woman and one man, to ensure safety, balance of energy and no scope for any personal attachments or inappropriate behaviour (especially no sexual). Peace.
I really appreciate your comment! As someone who practices healing in a country with strict laws, I found this film to be very eye-opening. It was amazing to see how medicine people can live off the land without any limitations. However, I did notice some red flags. Especially the part about jealousy, which struck a chord with me. Anyone living a sacred life should support the sacredness of others, as we are all connected to the same energy. I haven't had the opportunity to try this medicine as it's illegal where I am. After working through most of my shadow work, I'm excited to tackle the last bits. I would really appreciate any suggestions on where I could explore this further.

I have sat through 4 cerenonies in the US and plan to travel to the amazon sometime in the near future for the immersive relationship with the medicine.
Thank you for your contribution ❤️
I really appreciate you watching it, thank you. Best of luck for your future ceremonies.
Thank you for creating this. This is very beautiful. I connected to it in a very intense way. This was done exceptionally well. It was raw, sincere, serene and sincere. I felt like I was right there. Many of us don’t get the chance to witness some of the most purest and profound experiences that exist in this in the world. I definitely feel the shaman needed to send a message so that all of her eyes can see and that our spirits could feel…thank you for sharing her story and her message of healing.
Thank you so much. I'm so grateful.

Great job. Very insightful. I would be interested to have heard how the participants in the ceremony at the end integrated their various experiences with the medicine.
Thank you! Yes - I debated about what to include - in the end, I felt like there were a lot of films & videos that shared people's experiences, so I chose to keep those out of this film.
