  • This is the step by step guide to EVA encapsulation of DIY solarpanels. You can use Dupond EVA or STR photocap to encapsulate solarcells.
This process use vacum and heat to melt the EVA.

Great to see that Avasva has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.

Thanks for the video. The explanation via signs works fine for me.
Do you think the EVA would provide enough protection from the impact of hail?
    Thanks!

IF you are going to make several panels...taping like that is taking away lots of your production time. I suggest that you make a bag of 2eva sheets by fusing them, with an ironing iron... then put the solar panel inside and vacuumbag it..just a suggestion

Could Eva be used to hold a set of cells in place as well as protect them from weather? I'm thinking of building a set to go on the roof of my camper. Which is a curved surface.

one friend is telling that if i not encapsulate by EVA the solar cells they will broke because the heat dilatation, is that true? i want to mean i made some little solar panels and i only pasted with a little drop of sillicone the central part of each cell

rfernandezmx solarcells not protected with EVA or sylgard, will work for 5-10 years, i made some without EVA in 2008, some of them still works, and others i just repaired with a few new cells. But i recommend use of EVA or sylgard, and also i only recommend to make small panels, it is easier to DIY ;)

Those little signs gotta go. If you don't want to use your voice fine, but try using the video editor to add captions. Better yet, just cut out the sound altogether and add some music or something.

Pat yourself in the back man, you literally asked for all bullshit we hate on youtube videos. The guy did an amazing job, he didn't want to talk for his own personal reasons, if you do not like it then bitch off.
