I would imagine that playing with attributes of the physics can be a laugh. When you get some sort of absurd responses to small tweaks, for example. I remember when Shrek came out and a behind the scenes clips showed when a mistake on the donkey made him render as a big puff ball.
@@FluffyTheKami I'm really curious as to why developers haven't created splattered insects on the windscreen and flying insects in general? eg more or less insects depending on location and time of year.
All this hours of sitting in front of flights Simulator finally clear your mind to see the real small things in iRacing. I think it was a reset button to appreciate the iRacing even more LOL. You on fire man. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing
So.... with this update once I set pole position time I can purposefully drive recklessly to throw up dirt and debris all over the track to make the other players post a worse lap time 😈.
As a rallycross simp i am particularly looking forward to seeing if / how this affects the development of the gravel racing line, and if it leads to the sections of the track that transition between gravel and tarmac being a bit more dynamic and having a different feel. Looks like cool technological progress nonetheless!
Would be nice if after the loose stuff gets swept in rally/short course eventually the dirt starts to clear down to the pavement or the clay base. Or if a track started out wet from watering to keep the dust down and help the dirt hold together too having the surface dry out as the race goes on
Was having a blast hotlapping the refreshed P217 at Brands Hatch. The sand from all my (involuntary) T1 excursions truly added to my immersion, absolutely loving this update.
Only thing with this is if the track gets so bad irl, they’ll bring out safety car/full course yellow etc to clean it up. I imagine with the state of some of the races in iRacing, the track will be absolutely filthy from lap 1 turn 1. Is there anything in place to clean it up if it gets so bad?
I so want the safety car... why they don't use it I will never know... is it because they are " the pinnacle of sim racing " have they played Automobilsta 2 lately
I agree, it is a very important feature. Iracing needs many of these updates, sound stage, general stuff like flags on in car track safety systems, FFB etc. are very very dated now. I hope LMU can give some good competition so Iracing finally treats road racing to the same immersion they do their Nascar stuff.

Dude, the first Half-Life already had surface types with different footstep sounds and impact graphics. :D But the point stands. What tickles me is how iRacing is always going above and beyond when it comes to features like this, almost to an absurd degree. Like, having surfaces react to your car, gravel kicking up some gravel, grass kicking up some grass, makes it feel more like you're interacting with a physical world rather than polygons with photos stretched over them. That's great. They could have leaned back and been proud there but they couldn't stop. Is it necessary that the blade of grass you kicked onto the track now gets picked up by the wind wake of following cars and three laps later gets under the tire of another car and then has a minuscule affect on its tire's grip? I mean, it's cool but THAT'S what we're using CPU cycles on? Like when they finally implemented rain and made it so it creates realistic puddles in places where the real track would have puddles. Great! Very immersive. But was it necessary to then also have it so tires can harvest water from one puddle and deposit it into another by driving through? Who did they send out in the cold on a rainy track, with a clipboard, a turkey baster and a measuring cup, to measure how much tires can harvest and deposit from one puddle to another? I mean, it's definitely cool, don't get me wrong but... It's almost like a satire of a "simulator"! Again, definitely cool though.
HL1 had different sounds but not different bulit partical effects, I actually recorded the video saying hl1 (thats why there was an eddit) then went to get B roll and the walls all did the same thing.. lol so I had to re-record that bit and then get Broll from HL2 - but yah the main thing in HL1 was the sound FX though they did have property value assocaited with texture but not to the same degree as hl2

@@json.racing this is the way I see it and it’s sort of the same reason why real time automated stewarding is also impossible atm. If one of multiple cars in front of you shunts it, the only way to truly activate a yellow is based off is the speed of that driver l, which is already the way that iRacing does it. If a car is moving only a few meters a second then a yellow is activated. However it’s really hard for an algorithm like this to detect if someone is pitting, or just slowing down in this area. This system could also be exploited by people that slow down to avoid said wreck and give people who pass “passing under yellow penalties” I’d enjoy something like this too because I think it would add some nice realism and help out competition a bit but I don’t believe it’s possible
