- Miami, Florida has some really rough areas in it! Known for its beautiful beaches, weather, and night life Miami is certainly an awesome place. However, it certainly has its bad areas. Crime, poverty, abandoned businesses and homes are something that plagues the city as it continues to try and improve. Miami has a staggering poverty level of over 27%, and an unemployment rate of almost 6%. The median household income is around 31,000 dollars. I drove through some of the worst neighborhoods impacted by this, let's take a look!
This channel is like a brochure of the only homes I can afford, which is one reason I’m stuck renting 😳
I remember watching a movie when I was a teenager, where most of the city was a slum, but the rich people lived in massive high-rises that overlooked all of the slums. I thought it was kind of ridiculous at the time, but now it feels like thats what every city in Canada and America are turning into
Mumbai. this is literally Mumbai youre describing
Such a contrast to see the high rises behind the empty project buildings and the homeless areas. Wow - empty apartments and homeless people - what's wrong with that picture??? Thank you for the video and Stay safe!!

Wow! This is obviously the part of Miami they don't talk about. Very sad indeed.
and most of miami is this. Brickell is TINY
The part of Miami the tourists never see.
They should build homeless shelters in those abandoned buildings.
That's Miami, alright. Everybody thinks of the beaches and high-rises, but don't know about the other side of the coin. Now, bad things happen in the good parts, too. Good neighborhoods, bad neighborhoods don't apply anymore
the highrises are only in a tiny area. This is where MOST PEOPLE live in MIAMI
the countries becoming homeless. too much abandon buildings in this country and neighborhoods along with homeless people somethings going on.

My daughter lived in Brickel for 6 months. I’m SO GLAD she’s out of Miami!
This area of Miami being shown has been like this for at least 50 years.
Could you whistle so we know somebody is behind that camera?
In Haiti this would be heaven!
Some of what he drove through is called Little Haiti.
Wondering why they close down all those project buildings. You see that all the time.
They're very usable buildings for the most part. They could easily remodel them and by the looks of the areas around it I suspect they will be doing that in the near future.
Yep, I've seen this with my own eyes, this is mainly North Miami, but then he got down to the Club Space area which is getting gentrified as we speak, there's big money coming to these areas which scares me, because that's going to push them up to my area in Pembroke Pines!
most of miami is bad
awesome stuff as always but wow bad stuff neighborhoods
Dade-County 305 in the building 💯💯

I don 't understand what kind of houses ? Without windows and glass ? This is a former prison or buildings for the military? 1:48
I think they might be abandoned and boarded up, cause it looks like there used to be windows all over it. The parking lot is completely empty
These boarded up homes was government homes for the poor based on income
But the government stopped funding years ago for these communities
It’s happened all over the USA
Rich property developers have bought up a lot of them and building unaffordable properties on them
They were Public Housing Projects
As you can see some are still occupied
But most are boarded up now
I think those are just multifamily apartment/townhome buildings. A lot of housing on American military bases is in poor condition, which is also an issue.
@@MusicLover-ui9sm Thank you very much for your help
This is getting ready for development 💡

Never been there but maybe someday i may go and thanks to you I know where not to go and Thank you so much Hoods N Hollers for uploading this great video, I appreciate it!
Thanks so much for watching!
Unreal sights
This is the REAL MIAMI -most of it looks like this
Would like to see you go to Chillicothe Ohio
Been there many of times just havent had a chance to film. Will do at some point!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Matt!
Didn;t you see Scarface? This is the same neighborhood that Tony;s mother lived. hasn't changed at all.
Is this camera on a drone or you're behind the camera and sitting on a bike or car?
I’m glad Austin TX isn’t like this. Gentrification is happening like wildfire here. They recently bulldozed a low income apartment complex which surprisingly was kept really clean and I’m not sure what they’re going to do with that land as there are no signs just yet.
Where'd the people go? Homeless now?
Liberty City, enough Said!🚩
Dreary subsidized housing complexes that turn into slums...never happened before😅
I was in Miami visiting a family
member this summer. I did not
see this part. I saw beautiful
trees, animals and beaches.
I did not see any graffiti. Where
was this at ? I am from a high
crime city so if I saw this in
person, I would not have been shocked. Wow ! 😑
Interesting and so sad.
wow, ty
From the looks of it looks like even people from Europe buying it, or people from up North coming down to put up million dollar fancy houses completely wrong. These people need to go have a place where to go
It seems nice and quiet there.
Are they boarded up because a developer bought them up & are going to gentrify the whole area, or is it just a ghost town of foreclosures?
The beans flat top the dolphin store Scott Projects home team Dogg pound over town
Che postaccio! Peggio di Calolziocorte...
I hope I can tell you soon what happened.
I’ll give you one guess!
Looks like nothing happened...didn't notice anything wrong with this place.
High crime caused much of the demise
Я в шоке от увиденного и даже не верится что это Майями!
Hopefully all these boarded up apartments are a part of the plan to be demolished; and all former residents were moved to newer and safer housing. 😢🥹
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY "AFFORDABLE HOUSING" IS A JOKE
I lived down there in the late 80's early 90's. The crime was horrible. Those people will steal everything. I lived in Kendal and worked in Coral Gables. It was horrible then. I can't imagine what it's like now!
These apartments would still be bumping if the city wouldn’t of borded it up
I live in Nashville Tennessee , gentrification is really rapid here . If Miami is anything like here all of them areas will be torn down and people from out of state will be living there soon . Don’t no we’re everyone goes but the hoods are being cleaned out big time !
I uploaded Nashville on the channel. I would say it’s one of the fastest changing cities in the US. Thanks for watching!
Not too bad, in the shadows of expensive high rises. Not a lot of trash, and someone planted trees in front of the abandoned apartment building, with some new construction happening ; maybe this area is due for gentrification? Or maybe affordable housing.
There is a gorgeous palm tree in front of one of the units. It’s just perfect.
Crime in Miami Dade is at a 70 year low. Must be doing something right 😆
Liberty City, Overtown, Opa-Locka, Wynwood, Carol City (Miami Gardens) . . .?
The other face of Miami 😢
the real miami
I allways ask myself: how can I help ? 😞 This need mans, money and a comprehensive programme - maybe years! 😮
Sad seeing all these house and town like this thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
@@hoodsnhollers I didn't think that USA was like that ..with some house or town like that ..here in Australia we have them here too but not as bad as that ..thank you
Good ol America
Liberty Square
Yup.. welcome to Overtown!
