    Loved it first listen. Using the ascending elevator to build tension is a great effect.

      See, I *didnt* love it first listen. And it's not that I didn't like it, I just couldn't take it all in (very much like "Different" for a lot of folks). One of the best things about being a Band- Maid fan is that other people in the fanbase (and the good reactors) will point out things I might never notice. And then the whole track "beds in" and you move up a level in musical appreciaton for the song as a whole while also hearing and understanding how all the little bits add to that.

      @@stevehall5128 If you watch The Band of Maids Channel's video that removed the vocals, you'll appreciate Protect You from a different perspective.

      @@stevehall5128 Well said! I didn't care for Different until I heard it more than 10 times. Now,I can appreciate it. I've listened to Protect You about 30 times,so far,and am loving it more and more.

    Kanami has developed her own unique style. Nobody can ever say that she is a run of the mill, cookie cutter guitarist. Rock on 🤘

    Kanami is doing some really proggy solos from time to time.

    Watching/listening to Band Maid is much like watching an elite sports star work: they make the difficult and the complex look simple and effortless.You only gain a context in which to appreciate this when you watch the efforts of the lesser stars, and wonder why they can't execute the same profound moves in smooth artistry. Then there's a pause. And then, you go, "Oooohhhhhhhh...so that's it!" Band Maid Forever!!!!!

    I think B-M is maturing to another level in their musical lives. More of this coming in future.

    It's a perfectly and effectively constructed anime song by Band-Maid at their best and contains all the apparent or hidden complexity that only this rock band is capable of bringing into a song.

    Still works low volume on the phone speakers. First time I've tested this. Big factor for music like this. Hard to do.

      I have been wondering if Band Maid is planning to perform in France because of the "Ooh La La La" introduction.

    • @TomClark-Futoura
      @TomClark-Futoura 6 місяців тому +2

      @@randymcmillen647 I don't think that "Hou, la, la, la, la, la", a typically French onomatopoeia, is any homage to France. There is probably another reason. I don't know.

      @@Kissthetoad321 That's for sure! However, Kanami does many solos with three parts: a slow, melodic start; a faster series of riffs that set up a; frantic finale. So there can be many songs that contain elements of any or all three styles. 🤘

    Can't wait for the "White room" version to be included in the Bluray, Po! It will definitely be a different song, so much to isolate. Btw, Saiki does not have her Hime (Princess) hairstyle here, leading me to believe this was shot around the same time as "Shambles," Po! 🦍🍌

      There's already an engineered instrumental out there, but white room would be sweet.

      That's right. These are commissioned a long time in advance. Take "Different" for instance, the release of Log Horizon 3 was delayed. Band-Maid had the song recorded almost a year before they could release it!

    Wave, I have been looking forward to your reaction and analysis of this song. Holy Buckets (sorry) they are so good! I'm glad you paused for us to catch our breath! I'm starting to believe that "Ou lala, lala" will translate to "We're going to kick your butt" in Japanese. Every single Maid BRINGS IT in this song. Now don't hurt yourself trying to replicate Akane's drumming!!!!!
