Really? I’ve been running Xeno for hundreds of hours and I’ve never encountered this glitch, or at least noticed it. Nevermind, I’ve seen this many many times, I just never knew that it was a glitch.
Ohhhh this makes sense. My wife mains Sadako and Xenomorph and has definitely encountered this. I thought it was bad enough being a Dredge main getting maps like Haddonfield with useless locker placements.
lockers are mostly tied to tile generation, gyms/maze tiles have the locker spawns built into them. most other lockers are tied to main building or notable locations (e.g. gallows on dead dawg saloon). The problem to my understanding is maps that have low amounts of gyms/maze tiles, and locations with few lockers. You can also be kinda screwed by bad gyms/maze tiles spawning, like T/L walls have no lockers that spawn on them, whilst something like a jungle gym has 2 that spawn on the outside and another 1 on the inside.
JCglitchmaster I have video proof of a Pale Rose Onryo game where I got 6/7 TVs on a corner of the map facing a wall and only 1 gen had a TV near it. This issue needs fixing.
Considering that this "bug" has been in the game for years, i'm starting to think it's feature and not a bug. This was the biggest issue for me playing Alien because of how RNG the turret stations can be because of chests, maps with 2 floors and also another reason why i don't play him anymore is because of the turrets knocking you out of your power.
It's more likely they don't even know it's happening. When the game first dropped no killers had item spawns that were tied to chest spawns (there was only Trappers traps which use their own logic). It wasn't until the Pig when they actually created a killer that used killer item spawns tied to chest spawns, so they would've just shoved the extra variable of killer items onto the end the map spawn logic since The Pig doesn't need her power spawning near generators. Then by the time they released a killer that actually needed their items by generators, they never even thought about it and it's just stayed this way since. Especially since most people don't even know the issue exists as it didn't cause massive issues in 99% of situations up until they began tying chest spawns into event items.
@@Herman_Hedning aww, Xenomorph and Vecna are my favorite killers to go against as survivor because of the turrets and magic items! And Xeno just looks damn cool. Not like I tend to win against those two haha they just offer spicier matches. Keep at Xeno plz!
This explains A LOT of my Xeno tunnel spawns recently lol… I was wondering why my tunnels often have 2-3 in close proximity with random dead zones. I didn’t even know that the tunnels spawned in the same spots as chests and that chests can displace the tunnels. This explains a lot lol, especially in the modes where more chests are often being spawned in.
I thought it was odd that i was never getting any condemned stacks on survivors and that the tvs and xenomorph tunnels were so useless in the bonechill event I switched to the normal mode and didn't struggle as much as in the event, never knew this was a thing honestly, glad you're calling attention to it
I LOVE when two of my TVs are directly next to each other. I had three in a cluster in one game. It's definitely not a big reason that I uninstalled the game.
Holy crap that is right I did notice that some killer powers like tunnels get mashed into one place instead of being spread put around the map? Why are chests having a priority here?
Chest afaik were in the game since day 1. Killer powers that use chest spawns however didn't arrive until The Pig so they probably just flung them in later and didn't think about it because it would never affect Pig. It was only until killers like Plague, Sadako and Xeno came along where their interactive spawn placements actually got affected in a substantial way.

This affects survivors as well sometimes. When playing against Sadako, on the Grim Pantry, if there are enough chests, there is a TV that spawns in the corner of the main building. The problem is that that is the TV that is the furthest one out of any on the map no matter where you are positioned. Meaning, if you want to get your condemned stacks removed, each and every time you have to go to that TV, which makes it a massive time waste. I barely got a gen up to 35% and I already had to get some condemned stacks removed because she was teleporting all over the place.
This sorta plays into what i hate the most about DBD. And that the majority of the time, the game is more or less decided before it even begins. It's really annoying when you load into a match, and you're playing someone like Bubba and the map is the game. unless the survivors aren't that great at the game. You're pretty much just breaking god pallets until the last gen is done. But to be fair The Game is a horribly designed map and should most definitely be reworked. Then another scenario is you load into a game and immediately realise that this team can't beat you. So you're just on auto pilot for the rest of the match because they aren't good enough, or they don't have the setup. I understand that it's a problem that will basically never be fixed. But im still gonna bitch about it.
I noticed that not only chests mess with Killer Power, but Event stuff also cause same troubles for theese killers: Snowpiles as example. Only Pig benefits from that bug, which makes her Jigsaw boxes spawn even further from each other

This has been an issue for years. But something that typically gets overlooked for Sadako is that they intentionally coded for the TVs to spawn beyond 16m under certain conditions. Here’s the word-for-word coding for it: “Distance threshold to Generators: 16 metres If a TV spawns within this threshold, the Game will attempt to spawn the next TV further away than usual.” So, set the map to Midwich and make the bots bring the purple coin, and you, the Sadako, bring hoarder. What you end up seeing are TV spawns surprisingly very close to the Gen. This is because there isn’t a “further away” spawn since it’s already occupied by a chest. This suggests that the “choosing a TV spawn” process begins as close to the gen as possible, and if another TV from another gen is closer compared to the former Tv, that former TV will spawn to the second closets possible spawn.
It makes cut/scratched coin offering really nice for once for the same reason. And it's really good for Pig since it's moves her trap boxes farther apart, I've got a series of matches called Pig's Best Event for the anniversary since it added 2 chests and with 5 offerings and Hoarder perk that is 12 chests (including basement) on the map. I tried with Singularity, Nemesis, and Mastermind for mixed results.

Something about this isn't right. I've tested this on various maps multiple times with sadako, with all four survivors bringing purple coin, and me bringing hoarder, and nothing seems wrong. All tvs spawned as normal, close to gens. None of them seemed to be affected by the chests in any way. The only time a tv was far from a gen, was because it happens naturally with structures such as the pale rose.
It only happens "naturally" on pale rose because the game forces a chest spawn in the main building of all swamp realm maps every single time. Go into customs on the swamp maps and on disturbed ward with and without a cut coin and you'll always have a TV spawn in the main building rather than it spawning outside the main building.
I never even realized this was a bug. I realized that I was having trouble putting pressure in a game with onryo anymore but I didn't know why. I thought I was just getting tough teams and I sucked with her all of a sudden but I never even thought the TVs weren't working right! Now that I've watched this I probably won't play onryo till the event is over. 😵💫
Simple fix is likely to just add many more spawn points because: Plot twist, the chests existed before killer stations, and they are probably not programming with best practices, so swapping the order of the spawns is probably a huge project. How can that be? Well, if you write messy code that isn't properly compartmentalized you end up with messy, hard, or practically impossible fixes. Keep this in mind when you see a developer that will go completely back to the drawing board and rewrite their game early in development. That's a dev who is thinking long term and realized something needs to be solved before it because a huge issue. TLDR: When you get a shit map generation like that just farm BP and let all 4 out. No point in even trying.
Can you test whether its possible to ensure killer items dont spawn. Im unsure how many max potential spawns there are. But you can easily get 13 chests to spawn in customs and theoretically 14 chests to spawn in pubs. Chest tokens + hoarder would give you this result (plus an anniversary cake in pubs)
On RPD, legit had two control station spawn right next to each other in the West office, one beneath the repection window and the other in the side office, none on the second story or the library. As you can imagine, that match was absolutely miserable 💀 I don't even think this was during an event either
I was playing sadako and I forgot what map it was but I had 2 tv's spawn like almost hugging eachother. I didn't think much of it at the time but now that you mention it there were awful lot of gens in my games with no tv's and I only play bone chill for the bp bonus.
Don't play any of the characters so i'm not surprised i didn't know this, tho considering that for the entirety of the Halloween event the scratchmarks bug went unfixed i am honestly not surprised
I played a xenomorph match where half the map had teleporting tunnels, so half generators, I had no tunnels anywhere near them i don't remember, I think it was auto. Haven or swamp
Was on old Ormond and had 3 tunnels almost back to back, on the hill there was one, the left side and on it's right literally less than 30 metres from eachother while there was just a dead zone I couldn't go to using the tunnels. Skill issue I guess.
BRO consider my mind f***ing blown… I knew this was happening and I never understood it I don’t play these killers because of this pain. The chest priority is crazy thx for that I’ll probably play them more
The map in general has awful TV placements, the event just amplifies it 10 fold. Any swamp map and disturbed ward are impossible to play on VS good teams because you are basically playing powerless on half the map.
This probably affects Nemesis, Wesker and singularity as well but in the oposite way, so its really needs more thought then just spawn killer items close first but agree. Also explains why i found 4 turrets yesterday at just 2 gens. But knowing BHVR if and i mean IF we ever get an update its gonna be, its ALL random now so dont blame us if you get shitty spawns. Pretty goo job so far...
Well specifically with Sadako and Alien it's setup to spawn these specific items as close as possible to generators, without actually seeing the source code it's impossible to tell but based on where Wesker, Nemi, Larry etc. have their items spawn they seem to just pick spots randomly rather than specifically targeting nearby spawn locations. So they wouldn't really be affected.
The devs spend more times nerfing and buffing perks and killer powers and items then actually fixing their game. It’s frustrating. “Hey will you fix insta blinds? “Yea we will” (3 years later.) hey, we nerfed the pig. “Ok but did you fix the instablinds?” “No we will get to it.”
So whenever a event occurs with chest spawning offerings, we just need to switch to Plague/Pig to use the flawed map logic against Survivors until enough Survivors complain to get it fixed.
It affects all killers with a power item spawn but since Nemi, Wesker and Larry don't need their items by generators, it doesn't really affect the gameplay for these killers too much. Xeno and Sadako though need their items by generators for them to actually be useful.
If this happens in a future event that spawns chests, lets take a different approach: work out how killers can abuse this feature. After a few events without a resolution, its essentially a feature.
It's not exactly a bug. It's BHVR laziness making props, chest and gens share spawn points instead of creating new ones. You can see that the snow skull piles spawn where gens or totems are suppose to be.
Behavior needs to fix this stat: the map RNG should not be determined by coin offerings, that's just plain stupid. And I know for a fact, they just have to tweak object weights, a simple number change, to fix it. And they wanted labor of love? HA!
At least the event is going to finish soon. I find Xenomorph UNPLAYABE at all, and Sadako is still pretty good, but you really depend on RNG this time, so i'm not playing them until the event finishes
I really don't think this is a bug because this has been a thing since the plague was added in the game.I think it's just them being lazy and using the same logic because they don't want to code something new. This isnt a bug- everything is working as intended. It's just what's intended is either poorly thought out, or more likely- it's just implemented without retroactively going back to account for new mechanics in the code. The distinction matters because from a software pov there's no problem. Therefore there are no errors to be thrown, and no simple easy fix. This is a logical design flaw and for that reason i wouldn't hold my breath on it getting 'fixed' any time soon. They'd have to redo spawn mechanics in general, which risks actual bugs and it's a nightmare.

This is insane Copium cause this covers your entire DBD Survivor Career. Before a match even begins you're already like "If I win it's cause me and my team are just literally amazing and GOATED. This feels more like a feature than a bug. Like oh no, you have to travel instead of click one button on a teleporting killer who will most likely already have a silent approach to a Gen, which they can already see without an aura reading perk. I'm sorry but killers having to work a little more to do something even if that means actually traveling to a Gen is the funniest thing to be upset about. Like what. 😅😂 do you need a survivor to hold your hand, it's right here in this loop. It's okay, you can do it.

@furnoprime9439 killer mains usually focus on their kits better than behavior if it was truly a bug I'm sure they would be on it as Bubba is a favorite. Popularity plays a part in priority. We did have one event where wesker was fixed in less than 24 hours after his kill switch. Houndmaster, they don't seem to care as no one is exactly up in arms about her not being playable during an event.

Learn the counterplay. Sadako is one of the worst killers in the game rather than just expecting BHVR to nerf everything around you instead of improving.
"Killer sided RNG" Excuse me sir, are you sure we're playing the same game? Any half competent team of survivors, even if they're solo queue, can absolutely destroy a killer. Killer is nowhere near as easy as you think it is. I know playing survivor isn't necessarily easy, but we don't have it much better. Between insane perks, nerfing our characters into the ground, and all games being 1v4s, it's very easy for us to lose games. We have to be attentive and on our A game all the time, during the entire match. We don't get breaks like survivors do, because when we take breaks, we lose pressure, and thus lose the advantage. The game is nowhere near a "Killer sided RNG"

Dredge is at least understandable since locker spawns almost certainly function differently but killers like sadako and Xeno have no excuse
My biggest complaint with Dredge is lockers only spawn near one exit gate while the other exit gate has no lockers at all.

Bhvr still also hasn't fixed the bug where Bubba's saw is stuck at 0 charges permanently

Yea I’ve noticed that TVs spawn very close to each other now and none in main buildings even with cut coin

TLDR: When you get a shit map generation like that just farm BP and let all 4 out. No point in even trying.
Can you test whether its possible to ensure killer items dont spawn. Im unsure how many max potential spawns there are. But you can easily get 13 chests to spawn in customs and theoretically 14 chests to spawn in pubs.
Chest tokens + hoarder would give you this result (plus an anniversary cake in pubs)
On RPD, legit had two control station spawn right next to each other in the West office, one beneath the repection window and the other in the side office, none on the second story or the library. As you can imagine, that match was absolutely miserable 💀 I don't even think this was during an event either
I was playing sadako and I forgot what map it was but I had 2 tv's spawn like almost hugging eachother. I didn't think much of it at the time but now that you mention it there were awful lot of gens in my games with no tv's and I only play bone chill for the bp bonus.

Don't play any of the characters so i'm not surprised i didn't know this, tho considering that for the entirety of the Halloween event the scratchmarks bug went unfixed i am honestly not surprised

Killer bugs never get addressed in reasonable time.
I played a xenomorph match where half the map had teleporting tunnels, so half generators, I had no tunnels anywhere near them i don't remember, I think it was auto. Haven or swamp

i played a xeno game with all my tunnels on one side of the map on swamp and ONE in the very corner on the opposite side i was tweaking
Was on old Ormond and had 3 tunnels almost back to back, on the hill there was one, the left side and on it's right literally less than 30 metres from eachother while there was just a dead zone I couldn't go to using the tunnels. Skill issue I guess.

The map in general has awful TV placements, the event just amplifies it 10 fold. Any swamp map and disturbed ward are impossible to play on VS good teams because you are basically playing powerless on half the map.

This probably affects Nemesis, Wesker and singularity as well but in the oposite way, so its really needs more thought then just spawn killer items close first but agree.
Also explains why i found 4 turrets yesterday at just 2 gens.
But knowing BHVR if and i mean IF we ever get an update its gonna be, its ALL random now so dont blame us if you get shitty spawns. Pretty goo job so far...
Well specifically with Sadako and Alien it's setup to spawn these specific items as close as possible to generators, without actually seeing the source code it's impossible to tell but based on where Wesker, Nemi, Larry etc. have their items spawn they seem to just pick spots randomly rather than specifically targeting nearby spawn locations. So they wouldn't really be affected.

The devs spend more times nerfing and buffing perks and killer powers and items then actually fixing their game. It’s frustrating. “Hey will you fix insta blinds? “Yea we will” (3 years later.) hey, we nerfed the pig. “Ok but did you fix the instablinds?” “No we will get to it.”

Zubats newest upload shows a bot on RPD moving back and forth on a snow pile where a gen should usually be and it stayed there the whole game
So whenever a event occurs with chest spawning offerings, we just need to switch to Plague/Pig to use the flawed map logic against Survivors until enough Survivors complain to get it fixed.

It affects all killers with a power item spawn but since Nemi, Wesker and Larry don't need their items by generators, it doesn't really affect the gameplay for these killers too much. Xeno and Sadako though need their items by generators for them to actually be useful.

I edit breaking pallets/gens out of gameplay I use because it helps with the flow. I'm not actually instantly breaking them.

If this happens in a future event that spawns chests, lets take a different approach: work out how killers can abuse this feature. After a few events without a resolution, its essentially a feature.
It gives advantages to Survivors and particularly SWF, so it WON'T be fixed.
It's not exactly a bug.
It's BHVR laziness making props, chest and gens share spawn points instead of creating new ones.
You can see that the snow skull piles spawn where gens or totems are suppose to be.
Might this make Singularity, who is already a really good killer, even better since the emp spawns are going to be on the edges of the map?

Behavior needs to fix this stat: the map RNG should not be determined by coin offerings, that's just plain stupid. And I know for a fact, they just have to tweak object weights, a simple number change, to fix it. And they wanted labor of love? HA!
At least the event is going to finish soon. I find Xenomorph UNPLAYABE at all, and Sadako is still pretty good, but you really depend on RNG this time, so i'm not playing them until the event finishes
I really don't think this is a bug because this has been a thing since the plague was added in the game.I think it's just them being lazy and using the same logic because they don't want to code something new.

This isnt a bug- everything is working as intended. It's just what's intended is either poorly thought out, or more likely- it's just implemented without retroactively going back to account for new mechanics in the code.
The distinction matters because from a software pov there's no problem. Therefore there are no errors to be thrown, and no simple easy fix. This is a logical design flaw and for that reason i wouldn't hold my breath on it getting 'fixed' any time soon. They'd have to redo spawn mechanics in general, which risks actual bugs and it's a nightmare.

This feels more like a feature than a bug. Like oh no, you have to travel instead of click one button on a teleporting killer who will most likely already have a silent approach to a Gen, which they can already see without an aura reading perk. I'm sorry but killers having to work a little more to do something even if that means actually traveling to a Gen is the funniest thing to be upset about. Like what. 😅😂 do you need a survivor to hold your hand, it's right here in this loop. It's okay, you can do it.

@@2Queer4Fear This is BHVR we're talking about here. 9/10 it's a either a bug, them coding like absolute palookas or some combination of the two as seen with Killers like Knight and Houndmaster (A Killer as of writing is _STILL_ killswitched in the winter event.) and Bubba as I've been experiencing this asinine bug where I have zero charges on his chainsaw.

@furnoprime9439 killer mains usually focus on their kits better than behavior if it was truly a bug I'm sure they would be on it as Bubba is a favorite. Popularity plays a part in priority. We did have one event where wesker was fixed in less than 24 hours after his kill switch. Houndmaster, they don't seem to care as no one is exactly up in arms about her not being playable during an event.

Learn the counterplay. Sadako is one of the worst killers in the game rather than just expecting BHVR to nerf everything around you instead of improving.

Excuse me sir, are you sure we're playing the same game? Any half competent team of survivors, even if they're solo queue, can absolutely destroy a killer. Killer is nowhere near as easy as you think it is. I know playing survivor isn't necessarily easy, but we don't have it much better. Between insane perks, nerfing our characters into the ground, and all games being 1v4s, it's very easy for us to lose games. We have to be attentive and on our A game all the time, during the entire match. We don't get breaks like survivors do, because when we take breaks, we lose pressure, and thus lose the advantage.
The game is nowhere near a "Killer sided RNG"
