    I'm starting my pressure/power washing company this April and I'm nervous and excited also. I'm starting this business because I like to work for myself and I have a son who I want to teach him that this is a good business. Hopefully it's a success and he takes a liking early.

    Im glad you mentioned talking about the process. These business owners aren't dumb and know we are trying to sell them something. By explaining the process we validate them as people and show we respect them.
    Anyone can do what we do, the difference is who is doing the work.

    I worked at a Starbucks for 2 years and the floor were constantly disgusting from all the sugar and our anti slip mats were always covered in milk. Anyways we would mop twice a day but it was still dirty as can be. I know for a fact that all Starbucks have an issue like this! My manager would rent a pressure washer and spray the mats down every few months and it was still dirty. Once I accidentally spilled the entire mall bucket and decided to just scrub the floor while it was wet and I got things pretty clean. Our district manager came to the store the next day and commented on our clean floors. HOWEVER maybe this could be an extra service y'all could offer?

    I was a foodservice delivery driver when I started me pressure washing business. I delivered to Burger Kings. Most stores had a pressure washer or passed one around with other stores cause the franchises didn't want to pay for real pressure washing. I started washing KFC & Taco Bells, one night I seen the truck porter guy washing the BK as I pulled up to the KFC next door, Washed the KFC and did the Taco Bell next to it. When I was done I stopped to chat with the BK guy and we both had a good laugh, he wasn't even half way done.

    I’m different, we specifically state ours and our sister town for routine lawn maintenance,note that we will travel for (big) landscaping and pressure washing jobs if scheduling permits. We’re just a husband wife team getting started out and get about 8mpg on the work truck and it’s within a thousand miles of crapping out. When we get a new truck and some employees, we will broaden our service area beyond the county. Thanks for all the info man!!!

    #burgerking. I loved from a little girl to vacuum and make the lines perfect in the carpet. Then I began steam cleaning my parents carpets while in High school. I also loved to mow the lawn making perfect rows and patterns.
    I became obsessed with power washing when I was in my early 20swith 3 kiddos (1990). I worked 2 full-time jobs, yet had a cleaning company called Kelli Kare Kleaning. (Kare was daycare, my way to make $ while being with my own children always thinking business) The cleaning job was 5 days per week for a doctor's office.
    I cleaned the office right at closing after my day job of daycare. I brought my children with me because I had no other person to watch them. I had to HUSSEL and do a great job both cleaning and being a momma.
    I would always look at their parking lot and only wished I could clean it, yet when and how.
    In 1990..My career had turned into becoming a private detective and Fugitive Recovery agent starting in 1992 still working my little cleaning business until 2018.
    In 2018, the thought of power washing hit me again when I begged my mom to open her new pressure washer she still had in a box! IN A BOX... I can't breath.. In the box NEVER used... She said sometime she will use it.
    I went out the next day and finally bought one. It was like someone purposed or bought a new car feeling... My kids thought I was nuts. 7 kids, owned 3 business yet still wanted to become a pressure washer. Fugitives to cold case files.... Now pressure washing. POINT IS.... This career can become an addiction. It's not always about the money, it's a passion and desire. It's therapeutic. I'm old everyone. I just turned 54...yet fit and ready to make a little mark on this group. Work ethics is the key. Side bar.. I do acting also. My very first career from age 2 until current (Outer Range on Amazon this Month, I'm in a few scenes) Another point... DREAM BIG, BE HONEST AND HELP EACH OTHER THRIVE. May the Lord bless you all and remember to give a moment of silence to some of the pioneers of this industry who have passed. Our latest 02/02/22. GOD BLESS.

    Love the videos. Looking into a pressure washing business and wanted to ask, is it a good practice to wear a mask during pressure washing to protect you from Sodium hypochlorite or degreaser vapors? My dad developed cancer from a chemical plant so this question is naturally on my mind when I think about starting something like this. Being in the industry, have you heard any more about this?

      For my set up I got-
      -A plastic/resin 55 gallon drum mounted in my work van (free)
      -An electric water pump from home depot with an automatic shut-off ($130)
      -A power inverter to plug the pump in to ($130)

    • @westbeachcustoms7341
      @westbeachcustoms7341 2 роки тому +1

      You'll also want something like some sand bags or anything that can contain the water in one spot so your pump can suck it all up

    • @westbeachcustoms7341
      @westbeachcustoms7341 2 роки тому +1

You know -- PPE to protect your skin. This person was dressed like he's going to the beach. Shorts, non PPE shoes, etc. Look the part. This wasn't it.

    What's the best way to land such jobs in your opinion, after learning all that I think I could learn about soft and pressure washing. I'm now stuck on how to actually land jobs, I've invested in many courses and I'm still stuck. So far I've created proposal packets and have sent them out to different fast food chains within my city, but I wanted to know if you though it would be best to use FB ad's or to just walk in and ask to speak with a manager.

    • @xxkissmeketutxx
      @xxkissmeketutxx 2 роки тому +1

      My opinion only... Manager's don't tend to give a dam about cleaning outside their immediate duties. They're usually run off their feet already.
      You need to speak to owner's. But owners are busy too so you need advertise (and yes you can put extra effort to contact owners) but you must wait till THEY reach out to you if/when THEY are ready.
      I used to do reception. People who are rude or pushy do not get connected to the executives, remember that.
      EVERY business has started before it even had customers. Keep doing your grind, treat others with integrity and the ball will start rolling.
      Best wishes

      Can you do a couple jobs for friends and family, as the channel says, so you can get some footage, experience and exposure?
      Personally I think it's not your best idea to think you'll fall straight into commercial jobs and easy pay. It takes years and the successful ones have the long term vision.
      Masters fail far more than novices, but they don't give up. Wishing you all the best 👍

      @@xxkissmeketutxx working on getting one of my own up to become self employed and enjoy how satisfying it is to use surface cleaners and pressure wash. I’ve cut concrete and tested it and been in construction so this will be great to have as my own business and job I’m good with computers too so the marketing will be fun to get started too. Getting a graphic designer to do my logo and then gonna get it on a shirt to do my first jobs once I get the logo made and write up the letters with it on it with a business card I’ll put it on homes I see need it bad in an envelope.

      Gonna get friends and family’s homes for videos to show and do ads with on fb and other platforms. Or do a sale just to get my first few customers and get the ball rolling it would be a dream so I’m putting everything I got into it

    Forever self employed where you at in the boot? I’m about to start up and there’s really no one in my area doing pressure washing and if there is they aren’t advertising so I don’t really have anyone to ask the important questions to or bounce ideas off of.

    Burgerking! I've heard it's difficult to get dumpster areas unless you are using hot water. Is that true? I don't believe you were using hot water in this video. So I'm very curious.
