Lol I did the same. $430 from Microcenter in 2021 cause I was tired of my RX 460 2GB GDDR5 Now I'm selling this card in a full build for $550 cause I have since upgraded. Never had issues with the card tho it was great for what it was.

If this desktop GPU sold at launch for ~$189 USD or so, it would seen many happy gamers through the crypto / Covid era of gaming. The fact Nvidia is now going to heavily (more so) cripple this GPU to a 96-bit bus and 6GB vram is going to make this NEW GPU a real joke! At this point in time this GPU should be much cheaper! Imo the new pricing should be around: 96-bit 6GB RTX3050 ~$109USD 128-bit 8gb RTX3050 ~$139USD considering what new gpus are on the market atm, such as a
dlss perf mode at 1080p ( 540p) looks ok because it's dlss , not because of the game art style, you would have tried to do the same thing with fsr, you would just want to rip your eyes out
Hey, i'm really tempted to buy the 4K OLED 32" monitor that can do 240 Hz at 4K and 480 Hz at 1080p (still looking good at 1080p according to TFTCentral because of monitor's integer scaling). Edit: it should be announced at CES 2024 and released in the summer of 2024.
3050 would be better because of DLSS :) Although I'd try to get a 3060 laptop, they're not much more expensive and they're totally worth it over the 3050!

Hello zWorm! Is there any difference between a ryzen 3 3200g vs ryzen 5 4500? Paired with a gtx 1650 SUPER and 16GB RAM. I heard that the ryzen 5 4500 cache is so low that it isnt worth upgrading from a 3200g to a 4500, but to something like a ryzen 5 3600 or even better, a 5600. But i just wanted to know because my 3200g is not doing so well anymore compared to 3 years ago, looking to upgrade!

I think those big stutters happen on all systems. I have had them on my 4080 as well, although maybe a little less intrusive. Still, it remains stutter engine 5... idk what Epic is doing but it doesn't benefit PC gamers, it seems like it's just their decision if they optimize it or not. Probably they will optimize the new chapter while we are playing it and that is probably cheaper for them, but i think it's really disgusting behaviour for a company that can ezily afford to optimize their game up front.
If someone doesn't care about RT features the 1660Ti has the same performance while being just 100€/$ on the used market. But I see bright future on the used market for the 3050 in like 5 years

why these games beacame intance day by day 🥲 i remember back in 2017 1050 ti was a really a good card and handle every title of that time on ultra settings easily but these days budget gpu's have to struggle to get 60 fps on high settings 😭

Always nice video, but testing low-end gpu like a 3050 and 3060(12Gb model is mid btw but 8Gb is "S**t") recently is pretty good but if it's possible, I and probably some others will want an higher-end gpu like 3070 or even 3080 who are not tested a lot (we see the 3080 ti series performance explaination on your channel and it was pretty damn good), I purpose a comparativ between 40 series and 30 , compare 3080 to the 4080 and next, hope my com will be notice and get you a good idea
i play on medium with nanite (no rt just nanite for the lod quality of the trees, also gives foliage transparency which is super cool imo) and effects and post processing on lowest, the virtualized nanite shadows on medium look close to the high shadows. i also do tsr medium recommended at 1440p which looks really good on my screen, you seem a little more sensitive to the upscaling in this game than i am, i am quite the pixel peeper but this games upscaling just looks so good i am pressed to find issues, also medium view distance adds grass which i love, could you PLEASE start testing nanite no rt?
view distance should be on far for comp fortnite just a friendly fyi for everyone. Otherwise people can see you at range and shoot you but you cannot see them.

Fortnite is so unoptimized, I only get a little bit better with my 4060 but in some parts of the map I lock at 165 on all high graphics no nanite with dlss
It's got visual improvements that's why, imagine a live service game that looked like shit in 2017 still looking the same in 2024. Chapter 1 of Fortnite was rough using old save the world assets from early in THAT game's development which started in 2011. Not to mention Epic Games makes the Unreal Engine so of course they are gonna push the best looking features of it in their biggest game.
In my country the 6600 or 6600 xt cost like 20% more, So i went with a 3050 instead with my tight budget A better value in the global market But in my local market, i regret nothing buying this card.
4 days ago i got a brand new pc that has a 3050 and its actually really good and you see how fortnite gets the 40's well thats because of the recording for me i get 50-60 fps at the highest settings (ray tracing included with dlss performance)

@@Darkeditz_2U It's true that the Desktop 3050 is more powerful, but its worse value and there's plenty of other options in its price range. A Laptop with a 3050 is often cheap, offers great performance for video editing and 1080p gaming and if you clean your laptop regurarly it doesnt overheat.
turn off the shadows as well or at least put them to low and add some memory overclock and i had my daughters pc getting 150 fps with her 3050 in fortnight. in fact it was within 20 fps of our 3060 rig. but i had the more expensive evga version of the 3050. it oc'd beautifully.
6 months ago I bought a 3050 PNY and today in Fortnite it gives me crashes when I play at 120 and I have all the settings on low or performance mode, why will it happen? (I have all the drivers updated)

@@Aleks5848 thats a Common thing on NVIDIA, you just have to Play a des rounds with stutters (so it loads everything) than restart, and it should work
target person for medium settings is when high dips below 60fps and medium does not.

The thing is.. the non xt 6700 is often around the same price. Good video.
Next time you are testing the game in Performance mode please compare View Distance performance impact, it should have an impact on CPU performance...
It drops FPS by 10-20, although that was tested with a 1050ti
So probably around 10-15% drop or so

If I'm not mistaken, the key gets linked to the motherboard so it doesn't get deactivated unless you replace the motherboard.

You can use medium settings with high shadows and that should fix the rendering thing

The only time a 3050 is a good purchase is in a laptop. Laptop 3050's are good value and perform so well at 1080p gaming.

6 months ago I bought a 3050 PNY and today in Fortnite it gives me crashes when I play at 120 and I have all the settings on low or performance mode, why will it happen? (I have all the drivers updated)
The problem is that I have some FPS drops.
And I don't want the frames to drop below 165 fps

I have an rtx 4060 laptop and an i7 12700h and with minimum graphics + stretch res i only get 90fps with consistent frame drop??????

why do I get around 100fps with the 3050 i5 12400f at performance mode while kryzzp get 250fps. how can I fix this???
Edit: I checked there is a 25% bottleneck for CPU intensive tasks (Fortnite is CPU intensive) but 25% bottleneck doesn't mean 200fps difference right???

@@en_vy I once had a 10400F, I changed it to a 12600KF. Fortnite is going just as bad, the new computer didn't solve the stutter problem
@@pomi_alien What is your gpu? Also I had a crazy stuttering problem and fixed it by Switching to DX12 all Low settings. Maybe -10 FPS but no stutters

why in performence mode the cpu is the problem he is on 30% usage he doesn't limit the GPU
i was playing on MEDIUM setting with nvidia ddsl on and frames were decent but i get MASSIVE lag and frame drops especially when i shoot, i got a 3050 too. it's unplayable, i play on ps5 too and i get literally no lag whatsoever and idk what i'm doing wrong
it's the same for me, a long time ago dlss was better, after the update everything got worse and it's better to turn off dlss (3050+12600KF)
The 1080 epic runs even smoother than the switch version.
