But I'm talking like a (wide) variety, cz America we just be making up desserts & stuff but I think with Mexico when it comes to sweets it's limited. Because the things we just mentioned like the arrow con Leche that's just sweet rice, not an actual true blue dessert, it's a side dish that's sweetened & chocolate de abuelita is just a hot chocolate drink not an actual dessert. And alot of the candies have chile in them.
It was cool seeing this as a Mexican American because although I go to Mexico every year I’ve never seen or tried some of these foods. I’ve noticed that the city and smaller more rural towns have different foods. I’m from a small town near Guadalajara, Jalisco and everything I’ve tried over there is amazing!

03:40 if the flavor and smell of the cow stomach is too strong, that just means it was not properly prepared IMO. Proper rinsing and boiling it for a several minutes should fix that. I usually boil it with some bay leaf, salt and pepper - bay leaf works wonders!
@@MorningOnMarsmeat preparation and cleaning is always critical when dealing with innards of any animal. I'm not an expert on this subject, but I have decent experience preparing and cooking them. Boiling in bayleaf is by far the most effective. If the recipe permits, you can also try it with lemon grass.
my mom says the same. I've never had stomach, but apparently my grandpa used to love preparing it and my mom mentions how much effort he put into making sure it was perfect. She said it was normal for the house to stink if you were there from the start, but if you arrived when it was done you wouldn't smell any stink, just the other ingredients of the menudo.
That's very true, my mom used to make the best menudo I ever had and it was clean, is not suppose to smell like shite, a little bit of lime ( the white powder) can clean it nicely.
Oh my god, I am loving literally every second of this Mexico City series!! I am mexican and I lived in CDMX for almost ten years. I literally used to live 200 meters aways from the esquites. So many memories with this series 😀😀😀. The food scene in Mexico City is just so varied and intense that you were able to make a whole series out of it. And for the whole country, well, I think you can easily make 50 videos!! I hope that now that Sonny is in the US, he will keep filming in Mexico.

Good to know! I've tried cow stomach twice and I want to like it, but both times it smelled and tasted like it had been dragged through a gutter.

Cow stomach probably wasn't washed well enough... hence the strong flavour. Well cooked/washed it is really delicious.
