You happen to pick is the best introduction song into metal you could possibly have picked! It's not only my favorite Pantera but I think once you hear it it's going to be one of yours. Next song you should react to is Floods by Pantera
Great reaction!! Unfortunately you missed one of the all time great solos. General rule, never, ever, stop or speak during a Dimebag solo. We all must take in his emotion & have a black tooth to wash it down. Keep em coming Aussie
@@inbedwithmovies3228 The mellower songs, similar to this by Pantera that u may enjoy are.... We'll Meet Again The Sleep This Love Hollow Planet Caravan Suicide Note Part 1 Floods Avoid The Light Any Pantera song NOT listed above is gonna be significantly heavier, more screaming etc
I would say that you've got an preference for metal that has more melodic vocals. That's a thing. You've just got to keep exploring until you find something you like. Phil Anselmo has an incredible voice and range and versatility. He writes the lyrics too. This song came about because Phil had two close friends who committed suicide when he was a kid. They were guys he grew up with. He wanted to write a song about them, but he felt like it would be disrespectful to them and not a song very many people would want to hear. So, he wrote a song about grief but wrote it from the perspective of a guy who loved a girl, who built his whole world around her and then didn't know how to exist without her when she died. He's really good at writing lyrics that can be interpreted by the listener, and applied to a lot of different experiences. Some people think this song is about suicide, and I can see that meaning there, too, but I personally think its about finding a way to move past a loss like that and to continue to live. People underestimate the emotional depth of metal music sometimes, and I think that's happened a lot with Pantera. They wrote a lot of songs about love, relationships, pain, courage, confidence and anger, but the music is so heavy that some people can't get past that to hear what they're saying. A lot of it is positive. Dimebag is one of the greatest guitarists ever. Dime, Rex and Vinnie were in a league of their own as musicians. They could do anything they wanted to do, and they chose to play the heaviest shit imaginable, but kept us swaying and head-banging and moshing while they crushed us with it. RIP Dime and Vin. You'd probably also like Hollow, and A New Level by these guys. Maybe dip your toe into the metal waters with some glam metal and work your way up to Pantera. The band Skid Row started me on my metalhead journey. Maybe checkout some songs from their album "Slave to the Grind."
Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate you helping me to understand it a bit better. I’ll check out Skid Row and the two songs you’ve recommended. Thanks again.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest metal band ever. Not many of their songs are very cheery. Most of it is very angry music. You would definitely enjoy Hollow. That’s a great song. If you want to get more upbeat, I would suggest Donination, Live in Moscow. Where You Come From is a little more cheery, I guess.
Well a lot of metal is screaming and growling and a lot of melodic singing mixed in it just depends on the band, and you should really get into the full catalog of Pantera because it gets crazy and if you really want to get into some serious metal, I can recommend you some bands that will make your ears bleed and your face melt off!!! There's a Metalhead inside everyone of us that just takes that one song or that one band to unlock it and then we can welcome you to the family!🤘🤘
Now the next step Pantera is so amazing that is going to be hard. But Phil's voice has nothing to do with Tatiana's voice from Jinjer Next reaction, please: Jinjer "Pisces" (Live session)
You should check out Iced Earth - A Question of Heaven from Alive in Athens 1999. Super melodic, clean vocals, American metal with elements of the new wave of British Heavy Metal, power metal and Thrash metal.
Well, Metallica sucks, so I completely understand you not liking them. Pantera, on the other hand, was amazing, so it only makes sense that you need to treat yourself to more of their catalog. I listen to them when I'm ready to go to sleep. Their music has always had a calming effect on me.
Wow really? Isn't it amazing how 10 different people can hear the same song and each person will have a different experience. From memory I have another 5 Pantera songs on my list to react to in the first half of 2022.
I cant stand Pantera but love Metallica. I love metal, yet ive only ever seen Pantera as a reaction. I guess you know a successful band when autocorrect puts the double 'll' in Metallica for you.
LOL I knoooooooooowwwwwwwww, I'm sorry. I was nervous. If it makes you feel better, I've listened to it over and over again since and I didn't talk once haha
When you stumble upon the greatest metalband of all time. 😉
Hahaha it was a great recommendation. Thanks for watching.
This makes me cry all the time as someone who lost someone in the 90's - ITs fine we all grieve in our own ways

Goosebumps from Dimebag's harmonic squeals ... It's gonna do that :)
Haha cheers

Thanks for watching. Nerves got me and I didn't get the full experience. I realised afterwards but it was too late. Definitely won't happen again :)

I’ve been listening since this was released and still get chills.
I can see why.
Dimebag Darrel was an amazing guitarist! The rest of the band were excellent as well. Together they made some great music.
They certainly have talent.
I appreciate your response homey. One of my favorite songs since high school. Cheers from across the pond!
Thank you. It is a great song, can't believe I hadn't heard it before.

I wouldn't suggest Domination live in Moscow if you're not familiar with the song - it would probably come across as just noise to the untrained ear.

Top tip - DO NOT TALK THROUGH THE GUITAR SOLO 😉
Thanks for the tip. Don’t worry, when I was editing I was dying a little inside, couldn’t believe I did that. Nerves got me 🤦🏻♀️

You thinking all metal was, was screaming is a typical stereo type that people who don't listen to it think. Very typical .
Good to know that I’m not alone.
