It would go broke. All the awesome effort it made, the sound and camera filters, the getting the right graphic, the tiny little subtle things that probably cost a fortune but for a seconds, often unnoticed glory ,case in point, the graphic for the football scores, where it was a footballer spitting and the flob of spit expanded to act as the scoreboard, I had watched it many times before noticing. It was the class and taste of doing things like that and effort they put in that makes it aeons ahead of the Mash Report and other pale imitators. It has too many fake imitators that go for the easy route. TDT was the all time benchmark, I think the world needs it, like you. However, I think the world will just go for the cheaper option rather than the sheer brilliance of Armando and Chris. What a powerhouse. I met Armando at Cheltenham Literature Festival, and managed a couple of minutes chat with him. One of the highlights of my life. His own sketch show was an underappreciated gem

The problem with security services is they are completely un-elected, anonymous and practically unaccountable for anything. The British Secret Service was exposed 20 years ago as having just faked a load of "evidence" that Iraq had WMDs in order to facilitate the British government sending our forces in with the US. It was exposed as all made up and yet nothing ever happened. It just got forgotten about. Security services have themselves portrayed in movies and on tv as James Bonds saving the world secretly while everyone is against them.. yet in reality they are utterly corrupt and immoral organisations in bed with top politicians and big businesses lying, making things up, murdering people when it suits them and never being questioned or held accountable for anything. Run by un-elected officials who are in power for decades at a time.
An ex-SAS soldier spoke about what MI6 actually did in Iraq when gathering "intelligence" on insurgents. It wasn't 007 or anything even remotely professional, it was a bunch of public school morons sent into Iraq with wads of cash asking for information on anyone who might be an insurgent. The result of this was 99% completely made up nonsense by poor locals desperate for a few hundred dollars cash so they said literally anything to get the money - telling them their neighbour who they didn't like might be an insurgent etc. Thousands of men were arrested, many sent to US interrogation camps for months and years on end and it turned out nearly all of them were completely innocent people, nothing whatsoever to do with any terrorism. Their homes were destroyed and ransacked by the special forces, their families dragged off to other camps and so on. Meanwhile special forces soldiers such as Ben Griffin began to realise that while they were becoming the Gestapo what was actually happening in Baghdad was fleets of businessmen from oil and other industries were going in and snatching up all the business they could take.
A good talk on all this is on UA-cam, called, "The Making of a Modern British Soldier" by Ben Griffin - ex-Parachute Regiment and 22nd Special Air Service. ua-cam.com/video/6tHvtFibhic/v-deo.html

@Hamish Munroe Your failure to understand the comment, does not mean it does not make sense. Allan's intent was perfectly clear to me and I haven't even seen the scenes in question. I suspect infact, you know perfectly well what the intent was, you simply disagree.

I'm super uncomfortable with all the seemingly straight-forward and open Chris Morris material we've been getting in the past few days. It feels unnatural, and I can't open myself up to believe that he's being honest with the camera.

Davis was really good in it and the Actress that played his wife , the pair were very engaging . What let it down was the FBI portrayal ...way too farcical , there is nothing farcical about what the FBI is doing ,it is a carefully thought out deeply cynical 'cold as stone' strategy ...and that was missing from the film ,when it should have been central to it .
