We've seen acts of incredible loyalty before in One Piece; indeed, the Straw Hats are infamous for how they are willing to stand by each other, no matter the odds. But we've never seen an entire country willing to be tortured, maimed, and killed for the sake of a single person before. And not one of the Minks broke ranks; they were all ride or die to keep Raizo safe.
I'm proud of our community that did not spoil you Mark, because this type of staff should be illegal to spoil. Like legit, people needs to get in prison for spoiling this 😂.
I was spoiled about almost everything about one piece before even starting it. But I had never heard of Zou or this plot twist. I too am proud of everyone in the community that despise spoiling everything everywhere, they refrained from mentioning this one lol
For real I got so much spoiled for me when I was only like 50 episodes in because Facebook started automatically showing me posts from one piece groups lmao
@@azamat9620 I really appreciate everyone in this community for looking out for me and it’s moments like these that make me glad I’m not on social media lol
Honestly one of my fave plot-twists in the entire series! This is an arc of deviating from the norm TBH. So many writing decisions that are unlike any of the other arcs :)
-Remember when Straw Hats arrived? They were shocked by seeing the animals talking. Kin'emon and Kanjuro wasn't [when talking to Monkey who rang the bell] cos they knew it was Mink's country. They were also surprised about rumours that Mink tribe doesn't like Humans, they were confused cos they personally knew some of them [Inu & Neko]. -When the Minks were running, Luffy was still asleep. Cos if they were angry towards Samurai they would be full of rage and Luffy would have sensed it with Observation Haki. They [Kozuki Clan Smurai & Minks] were Friends all along.
Up to this point, I think some might still have doubts but most should not even expect the Minks to not even know Raizo was there but hiding him and protecting him. What a genius writing.
The "Raizo is safe" is one of my favorites scenes but it hit so much harder in the manga since you go from they walkíng close, turn the page and see the spread with the giant text saying "Raizo is safe". The anime lost some of that impact qith the build up after them sit. And what will escalate now is lore piece, things are about to go crazy. The mink are the GOAT
12:15 Oh I have been *_waiting_* for this one! I'm so glad no one spoiled it for you. Your reaction is pretty similar to what mine was. 14:00 unwavering loyalty to your friends is something Luffy understands to his core. 22:43 Yeah, so this arc has a few interesting little twists. The one about Raizo is my favorite, but the reaction to each one is just priceless.
12:10 Also of note - I believe this the most surprised that Zoro’s ever been by a “reveal” or plot-twist. Usually when the screen shifts between reactions he’s pretty stoic, maybe a raised eyebrow or two, but this is a lot for him these days lol
This arc is crazy and I love it😂 I already had trust issues when it comes to characters dying in one piece, but with this arc and all these infos and plot twists, I'm never gonna trust anything again in this series.
Mark, if this helps I always called Cat Viper “Nekomamushi” like in Brook’s song. Duke Dogstorm’s is “Inu-arashi” if that helps too. But for sure Nekomamushi was much easier to remember for me while I was watching through this part.
I think ‘never betray your friends’ is the only part of the situation that Luffy actually understands. When Kin and Momo first boarded the Sunny they had a slip that had you questioning their relationship. Finally resolved. 😊 Their friends call then Dog and Cat, so it works.
Way back in Punk Hazard, when Momo found Kinemon's stoned body that carried by Brook... his first reaction was calling him by his name, instead of calling him father. That was a clue, maybe. I got this info from the internet of course. Hahaha.
1. RAIZO IS SAFE! ngl this moment, breaks me all of the time :( 2. your timeline question is more or less correct ^^ 3. Wait what?! Raizo is not a cool looking ninja :( 4. good thing you still get some more zou episodes which might possible answer some questions ;P
Finally we get to meet Raizo! Hope you're enjoying all of the asstonishing reveals and twists of Zou! :D Hang in there good sir, this is all part of one of Oda's most complicated and long running threads, so many questions are to be expected, haha. Also, as much as I love the Anime, there's a bit in here as they walk up the tree that is lost in the adaption from one medium to the next; even more so than certain things weren't quite AS clear in Dressrosa. I feel like it's important to have all the cards, even the small ones, when musing about topics. And I think I remember you mentioning that you are reading or were planning to read the Manga, so my question is: Do you want to come across it that way on your own, would you like a quick descriptor of it in the comments in one of the upcoming videos or would you want to be shown the panel to see it with your own eyes?
@@skeletalcountdown I don’t mind a descriptor when I get to the moment in question, I only check out the manga when I’m a bit away from an arc just incase I accidentally spoil something lol
About Jack vs the marines, I think Fujitora would be ridiculously overpowered in a naval battle. He could just use his gravity powers to sink enemy ships from a distance, Jack is strong but I don't think there's much he could do about that.
For me, this is probably the best plot twist in the whole series, so unexpected (I had the same reaction when I read the manga lol) For the rulers I've always preferred the original names (Nekomamushi and Inuarashi) instead of the translation
