Down here in Missouri I am curious how snakes handle the spring temperature swings. Back in March we had a week with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s followed my 3 weeks of highs around 40 and lows around 18-25. All temps are Fahrenheit. Do they just tough out these swings or do they wait until they are over to wake up?
Like the snakes up here they probably just return to burrows, caves or other shelter if weather turns bad. Remember the ground temperature or temperature in burrows doesn't change as much as the air temperature.
ye i wish i could find something like this where i live (not likely tho) it would be so hecken cool to see all these cute little noodles do their thing
Awesome video. I'm doing a video on snakes in the snow here in Pennsylvania. Do you mind if I show a clip of this and of course link to it and credit you?
@@NatureNorth thanks here's the video of our garter snakes basking next to the snow in Pennsylvania. The hibernate right by our front porch and we see them all winter long on sunny days. ua-cam.com/video/iMhyexddwhE/v-deo.html
Quality snake content. Truly this is the century of the snake.
