Surprised and delighted to see this in my subscription feed. I was afraid we’d seen the last of you.
Glad it was a good surprise! 😁
Such a delight to see you back! You were the first booktuber I ever followed, so I'm so glad you've not gone! I've been meaning to get to Wives and Daughters for ages, so you've bumped it up my tbr. I've also read both Cranford and North and South, but likewise quite a while ago.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 😊
A wonderful surprise to see a video from you in my sun box!! How exciting!!!!
Aww thanks for watching!
WELCOME BACK!!
Thank you!
What a lovely surprise to see you again! Welcome back :)
Thank you!
LESLEY!!!!!! The joy I felt seeing this pop up in my sub feed ❤️❤️❤️
Aww thanks, Claire! You’re the best! X

Thanks so much for watching! X
So wonderful to see you back! 😍 Your channel has been my favourite for a long time and I love hearing you talk about books especially classics!
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed. X
How nice to see a new video from you. This reminds me that I started North and South quite a while back and haven't finished it yet. My mom was the one who recommended your channel to me a few years ago, because she was finding so many good reads through your reviews. Watching you makes me think of her and the kind of books she read, and which topics she enjoyed thinking and talking about. She died of cancer at 61 years old, and sometimes I read her favorite books just to fill in the space a bit. Your chats about books really gave her a lot of enjoyment while she was ill, so thank you for creating such a good channel.
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I’m so pleased your mum enjoyed listening to me talk books and I love that your shared interests are still connecting you.
I hope you enjoy North and South when you get back to it. The BBC miniseries adaptation is well worth a watch too. 😊
Always happy to see a new video from you, especially a book video! I've recently started reading Trollope too - I absolutely loved The Way We Live Now, which I don't think is from any of his series. Looking forward to hearing what you think of his work!
Ooh, when I was looking through his work, The Way We Live Now definitely stood out to me. So glad to hear you enjoyed it! Might have to be the first stand alone of his I try.
I was delighted to see you in my feed! Welcome back!
Aww thank you! X
Its great to see you again, Lesley! I look forward to see more videos from you. I will be reading Wives and Daughters soon.
Thanks, Jackie! Hope you enjoy Wives and Daughters! X
Thanks for getting me fired up to read this for Victober as its been languishing on my shelf for many a month lol! I needed the inspiration (first Gaskell). Glad to see you're uploading again.. nice : )
You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy it! 😊
It's so wonderful to see you here again Lesley! I've only read Wives and Daughters once a few years ago but I really loved it. North and South is tied for my favorite book with Sense and Sensibility but I think this will firmly stay in second place for my favorite Gaskell novel 😄. I have several more of hers still unread that I am so excited to get to! So glad you loved this and also the Barsetshire books are my favorite book series for adults, they bring me such comfort and joy. I hope you love the rest of the series and I'll be interested to hear which is your favorite when you finish (mins is Doctor Thorne but I think that is a common answer). Lovely video and hope to see another soon, hope you are well 😄♥️.
Thanks, Carolyn! I’ve heard great things about Dr Thorne. Very excited to read it. 😁
Wonderful review! 📖 Like you, I have only read North and South and Cranford. Hearing your thoughts really makes me want to pick up Wives and Daughters now ☺️✨
Where are youuu? I need your insights and your book recs and and and... I hope you're well, Leslie. I just followed you on Goodreads on my newest account.
Wives and daughters is one of my all time favourites. I read it in my teens after watching the series and re-read it regularly for quite few years. It's probably been about a decade since i read it so its due a re-read! The BBC miniseries is lovely. I'd heartily recommend it, I particularly love Michael Gambon as the squire in it.
Brilliant! I’m actually waiting on the DVD in the mail at the moment. I’m borrowing it from a friend since it’s not available to buy or stream here at the moment for some reason. Very much looking forward to it! 😊
I read this when the television adaptation came out. That’s long ago now, I think it’s time for a re-read! 😀
Absolutely! Waiting for the adaptation in the mail at the moment. Borrowing it from a friend since it’s not available to buy or stream at the moment in Australia for some reason. Very much looking forward to it though!
Also read this recently and loved it soooo much... When it I was done with I just wanted to more. x'D I was so sad we could not read the end, even though you can guess the rest of it. I really loved all the details in the relationships and socials interactions.
Aww yay! So glad you enjoyed it too! X
So nice to see a great booktuber
That’s so kind. Thank you. 😊
I really like this one too... it's probably my favorite Gaskell novel I've read! I listened to it on audiobook and it was about 30 hours long ha.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it as well! I’ve heard good things about the audiobook. I think I’ll listen to it next time. There’s something so great about listening to especially serialised Victorian novels on audio. Almost feels like the ideal way to experience them. 😊
do you catalog your books anywhere?
I love Ms. Teapot from Beauty and the Beast on your shelves. Where did you buy it?
Thanks! It’s actually a money box, I got from Disneyland when I was a kid so unfortunately I’m not sure where it might be available. 😊
I do love your channel where are you.
Hey
