    Coole Geräuschkulisse - Propellergeräusch ist fast nicht hörbar. Aber am Eindruckvollsten finde ich das immense Geschwindigkeitsspektrum dieses Fliegers bzw. dieses Flächenprofils das solch hohe Geschwindigkeiten, geringer Luftwiderstand sowie trotzdem langsame (Lande-)Geschwindigkeiten zulässt.

    OK so what is the airfoil and/or set up programming to get away with not having a vertical stabilizer?

    • @Toaster808
      @Toaster808 6 років тому +1

      Elevons

    • @g2rc
      @g2rc 6 років тому +1

      Jan J. I know it uses elevons for pitch and roll but where does it get it's yaw stability? You need vertical stabilizers for yaw stability. This wing could have a lot of wash out in the wing tips for yaw stability but that would negate trying to be streamline necessary for top speed. It could have split elevons on the wing tips with a gyro but it did not appear to have that that either. Possibly a special airfoil for yaw stability and has no need for verticals?

    • @jdellis6511
      @jdellis6511 6 років тому +3

      Your right about the yaw component with a wing. But they will fly without vertical stabs. You have to keep the speed up for take offs and landing. I'm sure that's why he uses a bungee for take offs. They will do the quickest tip stall you've ever seen without vertical stabs/speed. Skill level of the pilot has a lot to do with it too, of course.

      Digital stabilizer....

    • @High9231
      @High9231 6 років тому +4

      You can read about it here. ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/casi.ntrs.nasa.gov/20160003578.pdf No need for vertical tail or digital stabilization. I even designed model with almost no sweep and it still flies quite stable in yaw without vertical tail.

    How do you check orientation

    • @jdellis6511
      @jdellis6511 6 років тому +1

      You have to remember your orientation going into a turn. If you get confused, you can do a wing wagg. To find right, and left. The down side is they can disappear at the right angle. I love flying wings. So simple, yet they seem to go against the laws of flight.
