I have a strong feeling that the flight controller (the one piloting) was or probably IS a great pilot, for real. He certainly puts a lot of faith in the tech and the quality of the model and its material.

Excellent German engineers and very highly skilled machinists. Probably the best in the world. Control pilot did an excellent job of flying, as well.

This video is one of the best I've seen on youtube for RC aircraft. The scenery is jaw dropping and that AlphaJet is amazing.
The camera work is some of the best I've seen too, this cameraman know's his stuff.

But landing was too bad ☹
That has more to do with how the pilot flies and not so much the aircraft. True that a higher weight aircraft has better penetration with higher wind speeds but I can make a 60 size plane takeoff and land smooth as silk in a light wind!
And that landing! All pilot skill--agreed!

Just watched for the third time, looks real sounds real flys like real smoke trail like real takeoff and landing stunning GOD gave the builder and pilot a true gift, thank you for the ability to watch a spectacular show like this, better than the blue angels

It goes from being a 60k project to a 1-2 mill project with a coat of probably close to 50k every year after you build it in maintenance and fuel cost never mind some parts are possible to get

@D B Uh... you mean FAA? They have an Experimental class. People have built and flown jets under the Experimental class, but not for anywhere near $60k. That's won't even get you a turbine... well... not one I'd like to fly with.

Permits, licenses, insurance, airport fees, the FAA up the ying-yang and much more Im sure.

How on earth do you spend mega bucks and mega time building a huge model, then when it’s complete and you’ve run all your ground checks do you ever find the nerve to fly it ? It’s an amazing fete of model engineering and a tribute to the builders aeronautical knowledge and engineering ! The cockpit looks like a true rep of the original I imagine which is fantastic. Salute you gent’s. Truly fantastic and thanks !

Now this IS a gigantic plane unlike the video of the Gigantic F-16 someone posted that plane was averaged size and half the size of this one. The cockpit detailing on this plane is amazing, one of the best I've ever seen!

This is a beautiful plane. The fuel burn is astronomical!! Uses 2 Jetcat P400 turbines. Max fuel burn 1.3 liters/min 39.5kg thrust each. That's 156l or 41 US gallons per hour. Roughly that of 3 full scale Cessna 182s at cruise. 😮

Well, that's me making a liar of myself. I had just got to the point where I was saying "Looks great, sounds wonderful but no, the performance isn't amazing, it's just doing laps." And then the performance started, and I'm gobsmacked. Thank you whoever made and flew that - it's one of the most beautiful things I've seen in motion. Blimey!

Special license or FAA clearance for this? Basically looks like you need a real airfield.
He's in Switzerland. Europeans have much higher maximum weight limitations for RC than the US FAA allows.

Don´t know the exact regulations, though.
I´d guess there are comparable regulations in Switzerland.

Its been a while since i saw an Alpha jet flying , one used to visit us at RAF Waddington back in the 80s . Lovely modal and epic sound hope its still flying .
This has to be THE best RC flight demonstration on YT. Very realistic. Pilot did an excellent job of taking the herky jerky control out of it which made the flight appear more life like. A few times it appeared as though the plane was making a pass through the Mach Loop. Thumbs up to the pilot.
