As Keisuke once said, a pro race may seem uneventful for the general audience... ...but other pros know, that there's a ton of skill and fighting in smallest of actions.
You have to appreciate the bus driver's skill. He knows when he'll come up on the sharp turns, the appropriate speed to turn, and the positioning of the bus so he can turn cleanly. If he were to turn too early the side of the bus would hit the inner walls of the road.
@@arneshpal7702 smh you don't even drive. I don't even drive too but I'm really impressed and amazed by the sheer skills it take to drive this huge metal around these tight corners. The way he handles and operates the bus, this driver must've practice soo many times. Look how close he is to the rails and walls. You have to be high skilled/expert to even drive a bus like this guy. Knowing the weight, the handling, gripping of the tires. The heaviest front load when going down hill. Especially added weight like passengers or items/cargo in the cargo doors on the side
They usually take [at least] 6mo apprenticeship driving down the route without passenger while an inspector is wathcing before being allowed to take passenger. Also, local Japanese buses are rather small. I am not saying that the driver isn't adept--he is very skillful, but that comes with proper training and daily practice (like 3-4 times a day).
well thinking about it it's impolite in Japan to talk loudly so the passengers would probably just be praying and hoping the bus driver knew what he was doing
@@mrunlucky4085 He was right around 40 km/h most of the time. You can tell just by looking if you’ve driven enough. Only on the tightest turns did he slow down. Also, speed limits are for the straight bits, but that’s just common sense
The skill is real, I saw something similar with long tour bus going down the iroha slopes in Nikko. We saw the waterfalls that were accessible by the Iroha slopes ie Irohazaka. im fairly certain this is the iroha slopes, the 5 turns/jumps, the tunnel and bridge. are very similar.
Im a bus driver and all who say "this is easy" or "this is normal" are totally wrong. Doing those sharp turns with that speed is not easy at all. You need to focus on steerin, looking both mirrors at the same time and also keep your eye in the guardrail in front of you... You also cant get too close to the walls before you turn because otherwise you will hit the back end of the bus to the walls. So its very hard multitasking.
this reminds me a lot of the bus drivers here in switzerland. some mountainroads are really difficult to drive and the bus drivers that have to go up and down multiple times a day have mastered the technique of it. i guess public transport like busses and trains are really similar in switzerland and japan!
Yeah, was about to say the same Though not only in the mountainroads, even like from one village to another or to the city, the difference of altitude over a short distance is quite there Great place to learn courves with a motorcycle but extreme for busses or trucks
