I fluctuate between the two. Early and late in the day; ENFP Middle of the day ENTP I’m an idealist who is well known by everyone to be overthinking. I do get drained by trying to maintain harmony, but as a long-standing leader at a major government institution, I have no choice. I guess that’s why I disappeared on my time off. But my ENFP side pulled me back in because I needed to ensure the missions are accomplished. Yet, it’s exhausting managing personalities and dealing with restrictions and narrow minded people. I am known for ideas, vision and positivity, but not for details and deadlines, lol. S types and J types have latched on to me for ideas and visions. I just have to screen out the takers:)
With me it's the opposite lol I've always been an entp and I still think of myself as an entp but recently I've been relating to some aspects of enfp as well which has got me very confused because it's almost like I relate with both. I relate with entp more but still the ratio is becoming wobbly. Honestly, a little frustrated that I can't properly figure this out.
Pretty sure the while concept is based off of cognition preference. We all have the same cognitive functions (ex: Extroverted Thinking, Introverted Thinking…etc.), however the personality types are more based off of what YOUR cognition prefers if any of that makes sense.
Also to add, I’m an ENTP who initially thought was ENFP. If you haven’t, you should look into function stacks. I know I’m an ENTP because often I find myself thinking too much and over analyzing situations or experiences a lot. My Ne (Extroverted Intuition) is pretty wild, as my mind will come up with a plethora of intellectually stimulating ideas and theories, however my Ti (Introverted Thinking) allows me to doubt those theories or ideas and grounds me before I find myself putting an idea into reality or speaking about those theories with others. ENTP and ENFP I find can be difficult to discern from one another. We are quite a lot alike. I have a few ENFP friends, and albeit they are all different people, some patterns I notice is how direct they are with doing and saying something. ENFP’s are also better in tune with their emotions and are better able to express that verses us ENTP’s; I personally find I have a very hard time with expression of emotions and thoughts because I’m usually overthinking and analyzing them instead. This fella’ in the video is pretty spot on with what he’s saying tbh, and I hope my insight helps your 50/50 dilemma. :p
Love it! Maybe we're image conscious because everyone wants to get on the intellectual bandwagon to make a jerk circle, but when the rhetoric monkey cranks a different tune out come the pitchforks.
same as me enfp here. Last month i tried to learn how to play dan nguyet and successfully perform the abc song then i lose interest. Recently i feel like using my mouth to make music so i learn how to beatbox. Let’s hope i can do this one day ua-cam.com/video/xacqKgmoXtc/v-deo.html
Thank you I just barely got started and suddenly I understand so much more about things other people have said about the ENFP and ENTP and how much they really do not jibe well together, mostly from the ENFPs perspective.
Thank you so much for this video!! For ages I have been confused and have been swaying between saying that I'm a ENTP or ENFP. For the first time I feel confident saying that I'm ENTP. Keep on making your amazing videos!
"ENTP's like to explain themselves" - Ok end that's ME! Woah this video is so far has the best MBTI explanation. Thank you sir for this awesome video. ^^
Type 5 ENTP and this is very accurate. I love the ENFPs in my life but that Ti blindspot really kills me sometimes. I feel like ENFPs are either healthy and awesome or are toxic narcissists-- no in between lmao. I obsess constantly about how my things should be organized that my room ends up messy because i struggle with moderation in perception. Inferior Si means i clean for several hours like Martha Stewart cleaning a crime scene, or procrastinate and live like hoarder for weeks. ENTPs definitely seek to understand people more so we can understand ourselves and the Fi missing piece.
I'm sorry to say both ENFPs and ENTPs have an equal propensity towards being either healthy or unhealthy. :P But at the same time, I think ENTPs can mask their unhealthiness better than the ENFPs.
@@ErikThor id agree, unhealthy ENFPs are far more obvious with aggressive use of Te to over control their Fi. Unhealthy ENTPs with Fe are much better at blending in. But Fe is good at making other people feel like shit when desired. The difference is quite fascinating, when those middle functions are reciprocal opposites- you should do an ESFJ and ENFJ next :)
The entrance... so correct. When I think of an idea I see so many possibilities, even when it’s impossible. If there’s an inspiration, there’s a will then there’s always a way.-enfp
You’re super accurate and concise, as always. You’ve made me sure that I am entp. I struggle with analysis paralysis quite often, from Ti. An enfp probably wouldn’t as much because, like you said, their Te gives them a more go-getter attitude.. Which is admirable Thank you for your insights , love your vids 💞
I am an enfp and i just want to say that entps can have te as a hidden talent and the same thing to fe with enfp , also enfp caring a lot about not being rejected by people and they also care how people receive them , i can agree that entps do have strong ti but as an enfp i think also about things and analysing them so i can see the weaknesses of other people easily in the end we have a lot of similarities and i have watched a video about the CPT and it explain the empathetic nature of entps and the very analytical side of the enfps and i can relate to. Thanks to all information.
Very good video. I'm entp until lifestyle, then I do listen to people without questioning them; I can be the nicest in a room to broken people, I understand how they can hurt me but I still want to get close them, I believe myself can be strong enough and willing to take the challenge to keep my balance. The last one: I find beauty, full of secrets in a messy room, and I also improve & create systems.
4:33 this aspect is something that has been so hard to deal with all my life. People not understanding why I care about something. Why I put so much emotion and passion into the things I do and things I say. It’s something that even now my friends don’t understand. Like it’s very hard to get me to do anything unless I have some passion related to it.
Thank you for this, I’ve been trying to figure out whether I’m really an ENTP or if I’m an ENFP (specifically because stereotypically I act like both and neither so I get confused, especially with the amount of emotions I have) and you’ve brought me to the conclusion that I am indeed an ENTP, thank you for the clarification, this video help a lot! ☺️
Very interesting analysis. Weird as an ENFP who, amongst my core Fi values, lies a belief in freedom of expression/centralism/compromise - I find myself be able to play devil's advocate just as easily as you described an ENTP doing (although, of course, probably not as well). I'd always considered ENTP to seem "easier" to live as - Fi is a difficult function to manage, and even with years of self-aware development on its weaknesses, I still land myself in trouble at work with being overly trusting. And we live in an Fe world, so the selfish Fi function struggles to fit in. Most interesting was your point about action-oriented vs analytically oriented. I hadn't recognised that at all, and it can make up for a lot of weaknesses in the workplace.
I can see that it is maybe easier for you to play with ideas and have fun with them, even as an ENFP you can play devils advocate, but in my experience, ENFPs have more clear and strong values and tend to start from there. Logical abstraction and devils advocate is just a tool to explore those values for an ENFP.
@@ErikThor Thanks for replying. In regards to devil's advocate, all I can say is an INFJ very close to me found ENFP constantly playing that role to be a completely ruinous force in their relationship.. at that point, I feel it matters less whether we are as good at it as an ENTP (obviously not) but whether it's a key point in understanding relationships.
So far, this is what I got... 1 - NT 2 - Mixed 3 - Mixed 4 - NT 5 - NF 6 - NT 7 - NT 8 - NF 9 - NT 10 - NT Do I have both undeveloped Ti and Fi or the opposite, developed Ti and Fi so I can use both as I feel best?
Because some of the things described are more due to nurture rather than type. For example, the being too trusting and or optimistic misconception of Fi might true for Fi users with secure attachment style, but there are so many Fi users that are not like that, some that even become downright cynical. So many Fi users are the opposite, become paranoid and develop a me vs the world, us vs them mentality in terms of values, specially with how divided politics are. And of course there are so many that are just somewhere in between. So since Fi is personal and introverted, the results might be extremely varied and typing based on results might lead to many mistypes and or misconceptions about type. On the other hand, healthy Fe might make an ENTP act like described. Ne Fe makes the ENTP easily see the other person's side, and without having an Fi "agenda", the ENTP becomes a proficient empath. And with that it can make the ENTP too trusting and accepting of others, specially without Fi since the ENTP wouldn't care about the values but just connecting. The ENTP would mostly only care they have think things through, and what they belief is logically sound, but unlike the Fi user, would assume their intentions are on a good place (that is with healthy Fe of course), making the ENTP act like the trusting ENFP. As an ENTP myself, I have to say that Fe can become addictive, connecting with people feels great, and it can even make me override my Ti if I become to absorbed by it, while Ti becomes personal, and therefore rarely shared because it can disrupt Fe. So I can see how an ENTP that is stuck on that mindset can be typed as ENFP, despite not having clear strong beliefs and or opinions about anything just like an FI user would.
Wow, watching this at 1.25 or 1.5 is do-able for me as an INFJ, but effing exhausting! I prefer the "normal" mode used by the INFJ who created this video! This is a real trip, to imagine living life at the rate of an ENxP. I think my head would implode if I kept up this rate of speed for long. I'm intense, but not this fast. I'm a sprinter, but I tire quickly at such a fast rate. I have a highly-strung nervous system, but I'm an introvert, and when I have taken in enough (or too much), I. Shut. Down. Awesome video, BTW! It is concise, it provides concrete examples that resonate with me, it is intelligent and well-thought-out. I am enjoying these ENFP videos lately. Very nice!

And of course there are so many that are just somewhere in between. Also Fi has a tendency of making quick value judgement, so just like they can become too trusting of some people, at the same time the opposite is true, their Fi can make negative quick value judgement of other people. On the other hand, healthy Fe might make an ENTP act like described. Ne Fe makes the ENTP easily see the other person's side, and without having an Fi "agenda", the ENTP becomes a proficient empath. This makes so much sense, I'm an entp and I was a little confused about this but you put it into words. It's like since I can see so many perspectives, unlike my enfp friend who has a very black and white perception of things, I tend to look at things and people both in an unbiased manner and actually understand why someone might be doing what they are doing. Which makes me too trusting sometimes, or actually rather, too forgiving and empathetic? Coz I put myself in that person's shoes almost, while my enfp friend is like "I believe they're bad because they did this to me, they're just bad, no redemption and no argument."
So appreciate all your sharings. You bring them in such a relatable, useful and clear way and I have learned a lot watching (bingewatching lol) your vids... Thank You!! ❤️ - INFP
I always doubt I'm entp because I think I'm too "dramatic" and "clumsy" just like the enfp stereotype. Also I'm not as mean as the entp stereotype. After watching this video I'm surprised I'm actually way more of an entp than I thought. I tend to analyze everything a lot and I'm not an "action oriented person" like enfps. Also I think I can explain myself reasonably well even in English which isn't my first language. So thank you a lot for talking about the actual mbti functions and avoiding the stereotypes. 👍
I like that example of when the 💡 dies do you think the light is broken let's fix it or go get new 💡. Ti would probably take out the bulb before Te buying the new one just to check.
I m enfp and I have an entp frnd.. I can relate alot. Getting angry at ppl when they are doing things wrong or feel like they are in my way when I am doing something. I still believe that flaws are beautiful... Every human carry their own constellation of flaws. I still talk to random ppl and try to connect but I know how to move out of toxic or draining friendships. I don't even have a fixed goal. I m too idealist and def not perfectionist. I do what I do
Hey Erik, I think it would be interesting if you done a podcast and had one of us INFPs interview you, I'm fascinated with how you understand people. I think a conversation with you would be fun!
Thank you Mr. Viking.. This video is so precious... ur videos made me pinpoint myself as an ENTP. u should know that u r awesome. :) and i wish we cud be gud friends.
My Dad was an ENTP, and I am an ENFP. I notice that I have all the weaknesses of a ENTP rather than the flaws associated with the ENFP. Being an enneagram 2, I possess more ENTP weaknesses than the average ENFP. My Fe and Ni and Ti are more stronger than most ENFPs. My first love is all philosophy rather than fantasy, ect... My opinion only. STILL LEARNING, THANK YOU.
OH MY GOD yEAH i'm an enfp and one of my closest friends is an istp, and he always calls me a "bubbling crazy person" because i express my emotions so freely, but i'm over here like cONnect tHe doTs i mAke pErfEct seNSe BUstEr
Question... I adopted my great nephew whose an ENFP and his dad is and ENTP... are they opposites of each other? Why did you compare these two together?
Can I switch from ENFP to ENTP after a trauma? I feel like I was ENFP but after having realised my weaknesses I've evolved to ENTP now. Is it possible?
Well you've got unlimited options like You either get help from the traumatic event you experienced Or You get a batman to convince you you're not the joker
I think growing up I was an ENFP…. But as I get older and having gone through graduate school, I feel like I’m more of an ENTP… I think my F is 50% and T is 50%
I did not mean to say ENFPs are predictable, what I said in the video was that ENFPs were worse at predicting human behaviour and group dynamics because they have weaker Fe. ENFPs are arguably less predictable than ENFPs in my opinion.
I dont think "Extraverted Thinking" is associated with taking Actions like Fixing Bulbs etc. Fixing Bulbs are examples of Extarverted Sensing. Erik Thor is completely wrong. I will never follow this guy.
Fixing lightbulbs can be any function, its more how its done that makes the difference. I am just trying to examplify that Te is direct where Ti is more indirect.
@@ErikThor Te users want to organize things in the external world in a logical, consistent way Ti users want to organize things in the internal world in a logical, consistent way. This is nothing related to "Taking Actions" Te is more about the Effectiveness of a decision Making. Ti is more about the Perfection of a decision Making. Te, Ti, Fe, and Fi is more about Decision Making
What's the biggest difference between ENFPs and ENTPs?

Do I have both undeveloped Ti and Fi or the opposite, developed Ti and Fi so I can use both as I feel best?
while i know for sure i am an enfp, i do identify quite a bit with some of the ways of the entp.

The ENTP would mostly only care about the person, and making connections, disregarding their beliefs as long as they have think things through, and what they belief is logically sound, but unlike the Fi user, would assume their intentions are on a good place, making the ENTP act like the trusting ENFP.
As an ENTP myself, I have to say that Fe can become addictive, connecting with people feels great, and it can even make me override my Ti if I become too absorbed by it, while Ti becomes personal, and therefore rarely shared because it can disrupt Fe. So I can see how an ENTP that is stuck on that mindset can be typed as ENFP, despite not having clear strong beliefs and or opinions about anything just like an FI user would.
Facts
So freaking true❤️
great video mate!
1.25x/1.5x watch speed is a really good ADHD youtube trick. :P try it fellow Ne doms
Not when you are already multi-tasking : P
I had some rose colored glasses, but they broke.
I hope I can find some more.
I do what I do
I studied introverted thinking vs introverted feeling. I think ESFP super ego adds to the confusion for ENTPs
I have ENFP and ENTP friends. They are so different :V
so good Erik. I identify with both types. great video:)
Back with a vengeance! Just... excellent 💚
ok. I'm ENFP 👀 THANK YOU
Hey Erik, I think it would be interesting if you done a podcast and had one of us INFPs interview you, I'm fascinated with how you understand people. I think a conversation with you would be fun!
i am eager to start doing more youtube collabs, maybe i can bring one of my infp youtuber friends on!
Best video!!
I think enfps can appear to be entps when they get stuck in a dominant-tertiary loop.
Wait I've always thought that I was an ENFP but I actually could be an ENTP really!
My ex-husband was ENTP. I am ENFP ))
STILL LEARNING, THANK YOU.
philosophy is very natural interest for ENFP though..
@@aleksandrakot2969 I've loved philosophy since College. My all time favorites are Devtoeski, Kafka, Kant, Plato, Socrates and Heidigger.
More ENFP
More ENTP 🤓😎
oh man i feel like a critical, more realized idealist, kinda half and half
OH MY GOD yEAH i'm an enfp and one of my closest friends is an istp, and he always calls me a "bubbling crazy person" because i express my emotions so freely, but i'm over here like cONnect tHe doTs i mAke pErfEct seNSe BUstEr
Question... I adopted my great nephew whose an ENFP and his dad is and ENTP... are they opposites of each other? Why did you compare these two together?
I’m an Entp and I’ve never thought I was an enfp but I often wonder if my best friend is an enfj or an enfp… do a comparison of that type
I am an Entp but I have a Enfp side and little estp and esfp sides, is a LITTLE confusing lmao
So... I am an ENTP but... I'm extremely sensitive
I think my type changed I am now an ENTP
Can I switch from ENFP to ENTP after a trauma? I feel like I was ENFP but after having realised my weaknesses I've evolved to ENTP now. Is it possible?
Well you've got unlimited options like
You either get help from the traumatic event you experienced
Or
You get a batman to convince you you're not the joker
It's possible. I am same here.
Enfp vs enfj vs esfp ???
50/50
i cant.
Are you able to tell at what speed viewers saw your video? hmmm....
With my Ni, I can tell anything 🔮
As an ENTP, I don't speed up videos, I go 10s further a loooooot though
I think growing up I was an ENFP…. But as I get older and having gone through graduate school, I feel like I’m more of an ENTP… I think my F is 50% and T is 50%
i just got more confused in this video
My patience ends after 3min,sorry
ENFPs are Predictable
ENTPs are UnPredictable
Completely Wrong
Both are UnPredictable
I did not mean to say ENFPs are predictable, what I said in the video was that ENFPs were worse at predicting human behaviour and group dynamics because they have weaker Fe.
ENFPs are arguably less predictable than ENFPs in my opinion.

I dont think "Extraverted Thinking" is associated with taking Actions
like Fixing Bulbs etc.
@@ErikThor Te users want to organize things in the external world in a logical, consistent way
Ti users want to organize things in the internal world in a logical, consistent way.
This is nothing related to "Taking Actions"
Te is more about the Effectiveness of a decision Making.
Ti is more about the Perfection of a decision Making.
Te, Ti, Fe, and Fi is more about Decision Making
As an ENTP, this video bored me. You just sound like you're rambling, and you talk way too fast for me to fully comprehend what you're saying.
