So one problem I’ve been noticing with games similar to this is, in game loop atleast.
Things like squad, hell let loose, rising storm 2, bf3 reality mod. Is…
    What’s the point?
Like I can see playing a round or two for the full “immersion” of warfare but besides that why would I keep playing?
There’s no points. There’s no xp. There’s no ranks. There’s nothing to earn. And winning doesn’t get me anything.
    So what’s the point?
Unlike battlefield which was one of my favorite shooters until recently. There was a point. Not only was the immersive warfare fun but there was a reason to keep playing.
I earned xp. I leveled up my guns. I leveled up my character. I got higher rank. And if I won I got more xp or a ribbon or something. Like I felt like winning meant something.
But in these games I don’t. It seems rather pointless and shallow except for how authentic it is.
I would love to see something that was exactly like bf3 with hardcore mechanics with the gamified additions to it. Like 100 points showing up on screen and visible scoreboard for each team. I wonder what that would be like.
Because in squad it just seems stupid to me I don’t see the other teams tickets. There’s no anxiety as we both tick down cause we don’t even know how well we’re doing.

This is perfectly said. The depth of realism outweighed by the shallowness of gameplay. I think it’s why tarkov does so consistently well. Because the tasks are a major dopamine hit once complete and you have to work pretty hard for most of your kills.

      @@midlevelgeoff I agree
But for these games like squad and hell let loose that are basically trying to be “battlefield but “realer””. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
      Like what’s the point?
I think my first hint of this was in squad where you don’t even know the enemies tickets. I don’t know how close I am to winning and theres no sense of anxiety of the matching getting close to ending. And then the match just ends, unexpectedly and I didn’t even know it was gonna happen. Like what is that? How is that fun to not even know when the game is going to end?

    1. As you stated, it’s a free to play game that just released. Don’t expect Squad level of detail.
    2. The games intention is to utilize the molding community to allow people to mod the game as they see fit. Imagine arma without the mods.
    3. First impressions, while often not the complete impression of something, can ruin any good idea if it isn’t implemented well.
I wouldn’t be so harsh on a small developer, early access release, on a free to play game. That’s all.
