Thanks for that Sam and Ray, just as I thought, another great conversation. I think most assume the only people in prison with personality problems are the inmates. The very fact they're locked up being all the proof needed of their delinquency. But as I know from personal experience, and am often reminded so clearly on this channel, a great many of the people being paid to lock others up are worthy of being locked up themselves. You quoted a governor (I think?) recently Sam, saying something along the lines of..." Some of the inmates would make pretty good officers, and some of my officers would make pretty poor inmates." Whoever it was who articulated that observation was spot on! I think you fall into that description Ray, although, given your experience of the reality of locking people up I'm not sure you'd ever want the job. Given your knowledge of the system and how it works (or doesn't), I can see why those in power view you as 'problematic'...you stand them and their ill-conceived regimes before the unforgiving mirror of truth and they don't like what they see. Stay happy and healthy.....

I spent a week on the induction wing sometime in 2013/2014 and that was enough for me. Armley is my local, and armleys bad enough, but hull was grim, man...
@raygilbert Ray you're a sound guy but why would you begin to even side with by giving ammo to critics by beginning to mention what you were all able to access with the satellite card 🤔well done Sam for cutting in
@@raygilbert9945 but there's people still incarcerated and even though circumstances aren't the same there are critics that want them to have nothing it casts technology in a bad light as though we'll only be exploited... 👍🏾
Sam you talk with a Manx accent as you probably spent most of your life living close to Central Manchester, I sound (regrettably) as I spent most of my life in the east end of London . As Charles Bronson has never lived in London did he pick up his accent via his inmates or does he favour old repeats of minder and EastEnders rather then coronation Street ? one more point , CB has built a reputation over the years as a harddman , if he realised tomorrow how long will it be before the challengers come knocking ?. Will CB roll over if someone want to have a pop? Or fight back and end up back inside ?
I think you two would be great mentors to young offenders. I think you could lecture n work with them to give them a better chance of steering clear of further trouble. Not that I've even been arrested before, just a thought. Have a good 👍 one guys.
Another great video Both of you n I agree Charlie should be out they’ve really kicked the arse out of it with that man . They’re always shouting about whoevers human rights etc well what the hell happened to Charlie’s , he didn’t get a sniff of human rights it’s disgusting . Also Lee all the very best in whatever you may do brother , yeah I’ve done my years up n down them landings , from slop out days in Armley to how it is now with alll the proverbial carrots dangling everywhere. Don’t get me wrong it’s quite some time since I stared down a landing but that feeling never leaves ya and I’m glad I did my bird when I did cos even tho u had sod all u knew where u stood n how the ground lay with the screws , lot better era to do bird in then in came Basic Standard Enhanced. BOLLOCKS Again thanks for the time n the video guys 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
When I read Bronson’s book early on he goes to Risley and gave it the big one and he got battered by a scouser, they wouldn’t put up with him there. It wasn’t in the film as that may spoil his image. The events of taking people hostage would be horrendous for those he picked on and people overlook that too often.
@@John-eo4zm bull shit mate Charlie cut up a well known face in Walton Jail Liverpool HMP with a broken glass Jam Jar in the sewing workshop Charlie didn’t lose many battles to anybody in his hey day he ran the landings before they blocked him off , One of hardest men britains every produced
I was a kid when strange ways riot happened, I remember seeing it on the news. Found out later the protest was about abusing/drugging patients. I will always respect him for that!! I don't condone violence but I don't condone abuse either.
He comes across as an Angel here I knew Gilbert in the CSC at Woodhill He wasn’t friends with Bronson , in fact I never saw Bronson even acknowledge him and only 6 cons on the unit Also Maudsley hates Gilbert as he likes to shout abuse from behind his door
Your wrong. I played chess and draughts on c wing section with Bronson. Once I get my files it will be in there. Also I was next door to Maudsley in Durham and used to talk to him on exercise
Hello sam,im jumpoin over from billy Moore, ive followed him 3yrs..man must think im a stalker..however his content is now all homeless.thats his bread and butter..acting like jesus..
@@raygilbert9945 thanks Ray. He's a political pawn now it's crazy! They could learn a lot from Charles regarding violent offenders or just general life lessons! but they wont sadly. The lovely government that can't tackle gang culture was offered help from snoop Dogg the other year who has proven himself to be successful in changing mindsets regarding this, but they declined and said you can perform here and we can reap the rewards of all your sell out gigs, but not work as you have previous convictions. Beggars belief I'd rather Charles out than some of the maniacs they have let out recently I'm safer with Charlie!
There are law abiding citizens. Who work and try there best and have a really really hard life. Who don't break the law? And don't have the chances , help , counselling and all the other benefits cons and ,jail birds and horrible people get. It cost the working man who pays taxes and abides by the rules after having bad lives and living through bad times not breaking the laws of the land, a lot of money to keep the cons in prison, and give them chance after chance after chance after chance after chance. After chance after chance......ffs
I understand your comments and agree with you. This government and ones before it, should put the resources into areas that people need. The fact prison is big business now and about profit in the private sector and not rehabilitation.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of coming across Bronson in Full Sutton in the early 90s. Bronson was no hero, he was a universally hated bully whose only claim to fame was a sigh of relief from everyone when he was invariably dragged out because he never lasted long anywhere. A horrible dangerous person and small wonder they eventually got rid of him and put him with the other psychopaths in the Wakefield dungeons.
Great work as always Sam. Whilst I like listening to Ray, let's be honest this is one biased side of the story. They're are bad prison officers, we all know that. But please the way you're taking everything as gospel is a bit disappointing to be honest.
@@RealPorridgePodcast Yes I understand that, not having a go. But when Ray was bad mouthing the staff, you were agreeing with him and acting horrified by their actions. Not saying Ray was lying but things can easily be assumed or recalled very differently years later 👍
Ive said this before my bedsit is nice, The man upstairs plays heavy rock all night .I got sick off it Drove me mad ,So i went upstairs and said politley and nice sorry to bother you MR BRONSON ,could you turn it down a bit please ive got work soon . He said no f,,, off i like it loud .ok mr bronson thats fine .
how much i'd looove to get the real charlie out there for an interview with you. but i guess, a) he wont ever be stable and calm enough to be ready for that and b) why do they keep him in there until he dies? because of the massive financial damages he caused the system. because he truly proper infuriated them.
@@RealPorridgePodcast aye, from what ive gathered, charlie never really was a violent man by default, an inherently evil person, just the classic "something went wrong there" (i sense he was bullied beyond all wits as a boy and learned deeply that he cant trust anyone because everyones out to just let him down) upbringing and then times and times failure to show him theres a different way besides resorting to violence. he discovered art way too late in life. and i assume, a lot of the violence he commited inside, they pissed him off intentionally until he flipped out.

Does anyone else hit the thumbs up before the video has even started or is it just me 😂
I do wonder, but all views are very welcome

Is that bat legal? Could I legally carry that in the UK ? Just asking out of curiosity
how do people 👍
Served a 5 year sentence Hull prison !981 to 1983 A wing.
I spent a week on the induction wing sometime in 2013/2014 and that was enough for me.
Armley is my local, and armleys bad enough, but hull was grim, man...
Charlie’s brother sorts the charity pics
If Charlie got out would you have him on here if he would ?
I would have Charlie on the channel
In a heartbeat dude!
@raygilbert Ray you're a sound guy but why would you begin to even side with by giving ammo to critics by beginning to mention what you were all able to access with the satellite card 🤔well done Sam for cutting in
As it shows am hiding nothing
open book this lad mate, cheers
@@raygilbert9945 but there's people still incarcerated and even though circumstances aren't the same there are critics that want them to have nothing it casts technology in a bad light as though we'll only be exploited... 👍🏾
@@RealPorridgePodcast I know him, like I said he's sound
Sam you talk with a Manx accent as you probably spent most of your life living close to Central Manchester, I sound (regrettably) as I spent most of my life in the east end of London .
As Charles Bronson has never lived in London did he pick up his accent via his inmates or does he favour old repeats of minder and EastEnders rather then coronation Street ?
one more point , CB has built a reputation over the years as a harddman , if he realised tomorrow how long will it be before the challengers come knocking ?.
Will CB roll over if someone want to have a pop? Or fight back and end up back inside ?
Salvatore Bronson NEEDS RELEASING
never going to happen unless he is on deaths doorstep
I think you two would be great mentors to young offenders. I think you could lecture n work with them to give them a better chance of steering clear of further trouble. Not that I've even been arrested before, just a thought. Have a good 👍 one guys.
Something I would like to do to see if I can prevent youngsters going down the wrong path
@@raygilbert9945 you got the knowledge. Your are more than qualified, sir.

Yes been in Strangeways and experienced violence at hands of staff. Not something to condone on either side
He comes across as an Angel here
I knew Gilbert in the CSC at Woodhill
He wasn’t friends with Bronson , in fact I never saw Bronson even acknowledge him and only 6 cons on the unit
Also Maudsley hates Gilbert as he likes to shout abuse from behind his door
Your wrong. I played chess and draughts on c wing section with Bronson. Once I get my files it will be in there. Also I was next door to Maudsley in Durham and used to talk to him on exercise
Sad about charlie..judge said hes "unpridictable" your on parole board do u "take a chance" or knock him back...best wishes ray like your stories🙂👍
Thank you Peter and I hope they give Charlie a chance

Another gud un Sam, be good to get a current officer that's guarding bronson on the show
Cheers William
Free Charles! There's worse that have been let out!!
Well said Victoria
❤️✌️
cheers
Have you noticed even If they don't deserve it (Hull laid back wing) how much more behaved they were... Bring back the Hull ☺
treat people right.........cheers
Yes people did behave and return to normal location
this video has bein shadow banned on facebook post it on your wall . the picture is hidden because this videos shows the real charlie
Free Charlie
The guy throw away his life for a woman cheating on her soon to be husband 🤦♀️
Which is why we are having someone who was on duty give their version of events. Then both together.
@@RealPorridgePodcast Yes I understand that, not having a go. But when Ray was bad mouthing the staff, you were agreeing with him and acting horrified by their actions. Not saying Ray was lying but things can easily be assumed or recalled very differently years later 👍
Ive said this before my bedsit is nice, The man upstairs plays heavy rock all night .I got sick off it Drove me mad ,So i went upstairs and said politley and nice sorry to bother you MR BRONSON ,could you turn it down a bit please ive got work soon . were all critics.....lol
Sounds like Charlie was set up tbh
how much i'd looove to get the real charlie out there for an interview with you. but i guess, a) he wont ever be stable and calm enough to be ready for that and b) why do they keep him in there until he dies? because of the massive financial damages he caused the system. because he truly proper infuriated them.
Political prisoner for me, prison politics, stink!
@@RealPorridgePodcast
aye, from what ive gathered, charlie never really was a violent man by default, an inherently evil person, just the classic "something went wrong there" (i sense he was bullied beyond all wits as a boy and learned deeply that he cant trust anyone because everyones out to just let him down) upbringing and then times and times failure to show him theres a different way besides resorting to violence. he discovered art way too late in life. and i assume, a lot of the violence he commited inside, they pissed him off intentionally until he flipped out.
