Man, variant hunting is a wild rabbit hole lol. Congrats on getting the site publicly funded! You deserve it!
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 😀
Woooooh Pipe Dreams!
I just ran over to my game cabinet and back not once, not twice, but three times to check my copy of Kileak. Black and white manual, but alas, as a former rental copy, there's a sticker covering the hub.
Good stuff, my man.
Variants, they help you get your exercise. XD
You are a rock star, Jason.
I am just plain yogurt.
my original copy of GTA 2 for PS1 had a promotional sticker on the case for a free pager with brochure inside. Wish I hadn't sold it way back!
Yup! So did Thrasher. I have the Thrasher variant, patiently waiting for a GTA variant (new) at a normal price so I can add it to site.
But wouldn´t the sticker being on the shrinkwrap be even less desirable for the Network that´s being promoted on them? I mean, the damaged sticker is at least still there, the one on the shrinkwrap probably landed in a trash can ASAP in most cases.
YUP! That's the beauty of it. I was going to add it to the video, but I liked the viewer realizing it better. : )
Hey theres a bunch of stuff I wanted to ask and chat about but most importantly wanted to report I finally finished my full set of US ps1 games. Other than that I was curious about your thoughts on the recent Alien Resurrection discovery. Prices skyrocketed after MVG made his video. Maybe you could do a video about recent ps1 discoveries like that and Tony hax. Also i came across this odd Kings Field VHS on ebay that was listed as a sealed copy of the game. It went for more than I could afford but wondered if you know anything about it. Lastly I was working on a project where im going through and finding every ps1 game with redbook audio. Making a spread sheet with how many tracks and noting anything interesting i come across like vocal tracks or secret songs. About 40 percent done if you were interested. Wow sorry for the long post. Thank for all you do.
Just saw your post about Alien. I thought it was crazy and about 20 years to late for the prices to jump that high. So unnecessary now. Most people dont even have cd drives on their pc to make backups anymore. Luckily, it's bubble popped going up to 500 and now like 150. It'll never go down to what it was though.
Hey Hey,
First - HUGE congrats on your full PS1 set! It's an amazing library to go through.
So I usually skip over technical stuff like Tony Hax and the like as I am not the person smart enough to discuss them. I did find a picture, but not the auction, of the KF VHS and it looks like it would have either been a pre-order bonus or intended to be used in stores for promotional purposes.
You're actually going much farther than I am in the audio research. I was using the Polymega to quickly see which games had redbook audio, I think I'm halfway down the list. Would love to see your site with all the crazy things you find. :D
Andno worries about long posts, I do them myself. Be sure to drop into the discord to! discord.gg/hxvJyevq
It might, I think the bull-run was because of people wanting it for proveneance and historical value - Sony would have sued the SNOT out of Fox if they had known that was in there. The FOMO will fade eventually.
The looks i get walking into CEX (Think Pawn Shop but only Media based) to buy a game and i ask if i can see all the discs to make sure its correct lol
26 years running : )
