Imagine how fucking badass a properly done, R-rated Ghost Rider movie would be. Please Marvel, you have the rights again.

yea but spider man was a lot more popular than ghost rider. Those movies we're great to a significant amount of people, while the ghost rider movies were kinda an embarrassment to the character. Cheap one liner showing skeleton didn't really capture ghost riders theme. A lot of people just associate that with him now tho. I still hope one comes out where it does the character justice tho
satej dhanani Yeah that's a good point I guess. Spiderman is arguably the most marketable super hero there is, and infinitely more popular and well known than Ghost Rider. Most of the action scenes were quite good, and you can just see faint glimmers of what these films could have been, but the character deserved way better than this garbage. I won't even start on the fact they cast Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze.

Tbh, the one thing that this movie got an a+ on, is the design of ghost Rider himself. His black, rotting skull and the black smoke from the flames with his rotting leather jacket that was actually boiling if you look close enough, just look so right on this character.

Yeah when I saw the first movie and compare it to this 2nd one I prefer the 1st over the 2nd. And Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze not the best pick to me. The only thing that saved this his movie arc of Ghost Rider for me from totally hating it was knowing how the character truly should be and how badass he really is than what the movie portrays. Comics and Marvel Ultimate Alliance really helped!
I like the first movie costume because it had the jacket and gloves with the spikes on them if they put that in the second movie it would look a bit better with the black skull and where's the first movies bike and ghost rider only goes for the people who spilt the blood of the incident and where's the hellfire shotgun this movie is all kinds of messed up

the first movie clearly established he was only able to become The ghost writer in the dark. It was actually a huge plot point that he was not able to be in the sunlight and had to remain in the shadows during the day in order to have his powers. But I guess that doesn't matter because.... Reasons. DING!

OH.MY.GOD. That is amazing. They look like straight up JPEGs I cannot believe that. This movie continues to amaze me. Thank you for sharing this.
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, what probably happened is somebody wanted ejecting shells in their slow motion shot (I admit, it's one of the coolest parts of seeing slow mo gunplay, with all the casings flying around) and the props crew didn't quite coordinate properly with the editing crew (who know nothing about guns), so they had to add their own in and blur it a bit so that no one would notice. The scene was short enough that even the most avid gun nut wouldn't notice, and it was a much cheaper alternative to reshooting the scene with a weapon that could eject properly.
Hell, I only noticed because the scene played twice right in front of me and I know a ton about guns.
For me, this is easily the dumbest action scene in the entire movie.

This movie is so bad it's like if Uwe Boll and M. Night Shymahdingdong made angry, violent love which resulted in a baby. That's this movie.

The actually, factually, truly lamest part of this story is this line, “a white lie, an illegal download”...ghost rider...punishing grown men for telling their wives they only had 1 beer after work when he actually drank 2 beers. The ghost rider also taking souls to hell for...illegal downloads? How was this line alone not worth 10million sins as it shows how pretentious the entertainment industry is AND how lazy they are with their stories.
I think the point of that was that what Blaze thought in the first movie was an angelic spirit who was Lawful Neutral/Good turned out to be more a Lawful Asshole.
There's some fridge brilliance to it-- imagine if your inner evil-radar pings a dude so you stare him to death and see what he did wrong... and you find you he downloaded some MP3 from Napster or something petty like it. Or lied about not leaving the empty milk carton in the fridge. Suddenly you go from having a supernatural evil detector to being a potential serial killer because, surprise, that hellish spirit has a stupidly broad definition of 'evil' that isn't compatible with humanity (because he was tortured into insanity by the same devil who then stuffs him into humans as a bounty hunter, at least that's what the movie implies, I dunno how much of an ass the angel is in the comics).

The rider's penance stare forces people to feel the pain the victims of their bad deeds felt...which with illegal downloads is effectively nothing.
In the comics, Blaze's Penance Stare is the most dangerous version because unlike Danny's and others who are and have been Ghost Riders, it recognizes all types of sin, even killing someone by purpose or by accident due to self defense, and as stated in the movie, white lies, and illegal download.
