Paddleboarding with manatees in Florida

When the water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico drops in the winter, the manatees that live around Florida migrate inland to the headwaters of local springs - where the temperature is a constant 72 degrees, all year long. This means that, in the winter, visitors to Florida have the opportunity to see these magnificent creatures up close and personal. This is a truly magical experience and I wanted to have it first hand, so I set out to Silver Springs where I knew there were large groups of manatees just waiting to share their warm winter home with me.

What’s crazy is that as plump and docile as they are, they don’t have natural predators. Gators don’t bother them, sharks don’t go for them. They just float around, fat and happy. #Goals
