Mr. Don Car: I have to say, what you played during the opening moments of this video is breathtaking...those chord movements were hypnotic and stimulating to the soul, which has brought me back to this video more than once. You've got me so sold on this pedal!
...and it's a super-tank pedal loaded with various ambient effects at a reasonable price. The integrated "+delay" is awesome since the RV-3 was discontinued.
Loving this. I was researching reverb pedals and got caught down the rabbit hole of Strmons and other modern reverb units that add a lot of additional processing, but I've settled on this Boss pedal. It's not flashy, but just does what needs doing really competently - a very reliable 'always on' reverb unit.
After about three videos I finally found one that uses the expression pedal. It's weird how most videos don't show all of the features on some of these pedals.
This pedal sounds good in every demo I've seen. Just wish they'd have done the knob layout differently. For example I which they would have ordered the types of reverbs differently and put the modulate and shimmer side by side. Would be easier to switch between the two by feel on dark stages.
I was considering the Boss Fender Reverb Pedal - pretty cool sure, but over rated and way over priced, plus it is discontinued - for all of 40 minutes and I am now totally converted after this review. Another effects pedal on back order during covid-19!
Hi. I bought a Boss RV6 last month... I absolute love the sounds I can get with it.... the functionalities of it are great. However... I am having a problem with it and I can't seem to find the solution for it... I have ONLY played using 9v batteries so far, and the pedal lets me play for about 1 minute or 2 then it starts flashing the light and it cuts off the signal at the same time... so I get an interrupted signal on the amp!! It does this with brand new batteries, I changed batteries 4 times it keeps doing it. Any ideas what it might be?
Filipe Diogo, I spoke with a Boss rep and your problem sounds like a warranty issue. Contact the dealer you bought the RV6 from or you can contact Boss directly here: www.bossus.com/support/service_repair/ Thanks! Don Carr
Thanks! I spoke with the music store I got it from and they replaced it on the spot no questions asked. got a new one and seems to be fine. thanks again!!
i'm planning to buy this pedal, (for ambient music purpose, so i need rv6's awesome reverb). i really confuses, that peoples don't like the shimmer.. is that shimmer really bad? should i go for another pedal for shimmer and ambient effect? i don't have budget for strymon tho.. lol.. around digitech and boss is ok.. hahaha., and this one or digitech supernatural? thanks guys!
I recommend going with another pedal for that ambient shimmer. I picked up the rv6 and dd7 and I wasn't impressed with the shimmer on the rv6, not enough range or tweaking. You can mess with the tone and time knobs all you want, but in the end you get that same octave response. (that gets old really fast) Every other setting sounds really nice and very versatile. Further up in the comments someone said they couldn't find this pedal for under $200.. I got it about two months ago on ebay for $112.50, shipped. Jussayin...
+Alix Braverman so what pedal do you use for your shimmer? have you ever heard of digitech supernatural or earthquaker device dispatch master? both of them really had a nice reviews from users.. in here, Indonesia, rv 6 price is 145USD.. thanks for the reply!
+Resi Saputra I don't. I've used the digitech SPN in the past and was pleased with its range and response. Those ambient effects imo need to be isolated on their own pedal if you want to be able to tweak it to the specific sound your looking for. You really can't with the rv6, the Digitech SPN you can however.. Rv6 shimmer just doesn't have the range that I need, everybody is different dude..
Gonzalo Arribas Gandulfo-yes, the RV-6 is buffered-bypass. It was one of the first pedals released with Boss' updated buffer, which sounds more transparent than the traditional Boss buffer, to me. It's the same buffer used in the Waza Craft pedals. Thanks for your question! Don Carr
Try the RV6, the Supernatural is great, but the USA model is discontinued. They are made in China now, probably still great, but I am prejudiced! I have the US model, the RV 6 is supposed to be incredible!
+Walter Slavik Hello Walter, I am only 16 and I need to know something. Why shoul I use a reverb pedal? Why not the reverb on my amp. I really like the supernatural pedal and I'm going to most likely purchase it but would it be pointless to use it on a lets say, fender twin reverb? the king of clean amps? lol. I mean it has built in reverb!?
every time a new pedal comes out, especially reverb or delay pedals, these guys miss a whole potential market by not posting pedal+synth videos. or maybe that's just the people i hang out with.

By far, one of the best BOSS pedals ever and one of the best reverb pedals on the market. Love mine RV-6! From classics to crazy ambient stuff. :)
For the money it's very good better than that shittie TC Hall of Fame
T.I.N Mateus you are right !
...and it's a super-tank pedal loaded with various ambient effects at a reasonable price. The integrated "+delay" is awesome since the RV-3 was discontinued.
Watched several terrible videos about this pedal until I saw this one which is actually good. Thanks!

James May's 'Guitar Pedals Of The People'!
Bought this pedal because of modulation.. And it's super awesome
i've 2 boss rv6, with "+ delay" mode for both. I'm a big fan of delay/reverb pedal
bought this and the Boss dd-7, awesome
Sweet review
sweet pedal! i was actually thinking of buying the rv-5 and the dd-20 until boss announced these new pedals
dynamic sounds great
You can't go wrong with this pedal. Industry standard.
Great demo and excellent playing. Thank you!

Instantly one of my favorite pedals. Great sound, very varied. Better than I expected. A little hard for me to read the settings dial on the right.
Sultry sounds! Must have.
lush
How does the modulate setting compare to one in the old RV-5? If it's identical, but with a longer decay, I'm sold!!
I was considering the Boss Fender Reverb Pedal - pretty cool sure, but over rated and way over priced, plus it is discontinued - for all of 40 minutes and I am now totally converted after this review. Another effects pedal on back order during covid-19!
great review - all you need to know and no showing off your guitar skills for 10 mins!
Awesome thank you!

The Earthquaker I've heard nothing but good things about...
Boss Rv-6 or TC Electronics Hall of Fame?
Boss Ofcourse
what octaver is that?
Where'd he get that sweet shirt???
BOSS RV-6 vs. TC Electronics Hall of Fame 2 (which reverb?)
RV-6
Good review. I dont really need the whammy bar in the demo, I'm trying to hear the pedal without any thing added to it.
Then make a video without one
is it buffered by pass?
Gonzalo Arribas Gandulfo-yes, the RV-6 is buffered-bypass. It was one of the first pedals released with Boss' updated buffer, which sounds more transparent than the traditional Boss buffer, to me. It's the same buffer used in the Waza Craft pedals.

Don Carr
good info
Just one question this one or DIGITECH SUPERNATURAL?? I'll appreciate someone reply me ..t-you =)
+elmero mero
Why not as many reverbs as possible; I own the Supernatural, TC Trinity and have owned the RV5. The RV 6 is next, they are all different!
Walter Slavik cause I dn't have enoug money to buy many reverbs t-you anyway =)
Try the RV6, the Supernatural is great, but the USA model is discontinued. They are made in China now, probably still great, but I am prejudiced! I have the US model, the RV 6 is supposed to be incredible!
Walter Slavik thanks a loooooooot for ur reply , but almost every guitar effect n amp is made in china now. well t-you again =)

all of the algorithms are 100% new from the RV5. for better or worse

Why use different amps?
Because they sound different.
Bit cheaper than the RV-5.
You look like Dave mustane
This pedal actually has a Great Spring Reverb if you know how to dial it in the Spring Reverb DEmo in this video Sucks
Don Carr eats hoagies
What does that even mean?
i want to hear sweeps from hell summoning demons. not this mellow stuff :[
