      If the batteries are dead, you would need to purchase new batteries. We rent the jumper cables out when purchasing new batteries. The manufacturer no longer makes the cables and we have a bunch of them but wasn't getting them returned so we started renting the cables when purchasing batteries. If you are interested, give us a call at 800-677-6293 and we can see what a new set of batteries would cost you and get you a quote on batteries and the jumper cable rental.

      @@allaboutgrace2560 I needed to know 5 years ago. I just seen this video today, while I am on medical leave and have time for projects like this. My wifes chair has been sitting in the spare bedroom for all this time, dead. I got her a Jazzy from a friend. The power chair people that we live in the "territory" of are not reliable, so I usually do the work myself, and get her second hand stuff. They probably kept that Jumper. A different video said that "one comes with every charger"

    Thanks, Marc! My batteries aren't dead yet, but they're getting there. When I tilted up the footrest, I was freaked out to find that there was no shroud, just a flat metal plate. I was afraid that it meant some major disassembly was needed, which I can't afford on Social Security.
    But following your example, I tilted the whole seat and was able to get a better look. I can now see that it appears that that metal plate is designed for tool-less removal for battery access. So I should be able to change the batteries with the help of an able-bodied friend.

      We rent jumper cables with the purchase of batteries. The rental fee is $300. We would send them and a prepaid return envelope to send the cables back to us. Once we get them back, we would refund you a total of $260. Let us know if we can be of assistance.

    can the single battery 12v 100ah be used in that wheelchair

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  Рік тому +1

      These Quantum wheelchairs do not use 12V 100A batteries, they run on 24V so you would need two 12V batteries. You would want to replace your batteries with the correct size battery that it calls for and has in it currently to keep from ruining your chair as well as the warranty. The 100A battery may not even fit due to the differences in the dimensions. Hope that helps!

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  11 місяців тому

      You could rent the jumper cable from us with the purchase of batteries. The jumper cables are a $300 deposit. We would send a prepaid return envelope and once jumper cables are received your card used would be refunded a total of $260.

    What kind of jumper cables are they

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  4 місяці тому

      They are specialty jumper cables made by the company. They are not being made any longer but we do rent them out with the purchase of batteries. The cables are a $300 deposit and we send them with the batteries and a prepaid return envelope. Once returned you would get a refund of $260 so the rental is only $40. Give me a call if you need a set of batteries and the cables.

    Does anyone here knows where is the location to the charging port fuse for this exact power wheelchair shown here; i have the exact same power wheelchair that this guy here is working on; ??

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  Рік тому

      The charging port would be on the front underside of the joystick. All powerchairs within the last 10 years have all moved their charging ports to the same location on the joystick. Hope this helps!

    If a chair moves slowly and backs up fast, where could the problem be?

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  11 місяців тому

      The issue sounds to be in the programming. You could reach out to a Quantum dealer and ask if they can reprogram your chair. Hope that helps!

    My q chair has a lever underneath the foot rest you twist the lever and foot rest pops up out of the way and that's all there is to it yours might have one You should check before you do everything else

      Thanks for your comment but that may be just for your model of chair or the footrest you have depending on seat functions. Not all models have that.

    How can I find the serial number on my quantum wheelchair?

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  Рік тому +1

      The easiest place to find it is in your owners manual. They also put a serial number in the bottom rear of the chair. There is a plastic cover held in place by two yellow screws. Remove the cover and the serial number should be in there. You can also get it from some joysticks.

    It would be nice if these wheelchair manufacturers would just create a [prt where you could just plug a special space-saving cord into the chair to do this so that the consumer can have access to get their chair to charge when the battery has totally died? It would be better than a consumer trying to do some hacks where they may put the wrong wires on the battery to get a totally dead chair to start charging when the charger won't charge it. It as well would be nice if these manufacturers would put in batteries that would be lighter in weight and would take less time to charge but would last longer?
    The other thing would be nice if every time your chair throws a warning or message it would be nice if in real time you would get a record of each notification on your phone.
    Last and not least it would be nice if someone had a video on the proper way to plug your chair in and un plug it. I once was told by my wheelchair shop that when you plug the chair in you are supposed to plug the white cable into the chair first then the black cord into the wall and charger. When you un plug it you are supposed to un plug the charger from the wall then pull the white cord out of the chair. I was told that if you do it the other way you could fry the chair.

    • @Marcsmobility
      @Marcsmobility  2 місяці тому

      So they have a cord that is the charger. Its space saving and not big, and you would want to charge your batteries before they have totally died. If you wait till they are dead, you are damaging the batteries where you will have to purchase new batteries before you should be needing to.
      As far as your comment about manufacturers need to put smaller batteries that last longer in their chairs, the only problem is if you go smaller on a battery, there isn't enough charge in a smaller battery to move such a large chair with all the functions these chairs have. You can put a 12A battery in this and it will allow the unit to lift the seat up or it to move about 5" then the battery would be dead. There isn't enough juice in a smaller battery to move the unit.
      If there is an issue with the chair, they do have error codes that come up on the joystick and notify you of said error. On the correct way to plug up your chair to the charger, you should always plug the charger into the wall (most people keep the charger plugged into the wall all the time so when they need to charge the chair they plug it up), then plug it into the chair. The only reason you should be plugging it into the chair first is if you are trying to jump start your batteries. Could be an issue if done all the time. Hope this helps you out and gives you some pointers.
