I played my 64 for the first time in years... I've been moving constantly the past few years, and this is the first time I've had all my equipment unpacked at the same time (my TV, game, controls, and 64 itself). I have to be honest and say, I suck. I used to be awesome at this game. I hardly ever lost, but tonight I never ranked higher than second place. #Disgraced I've only been playing this game for ten years, which compared to most of the mario fans, isn't much at all. I'd like to say I'm a huge fan, but I'm not in terms of merchandice. I've never played any of the wii games. Yes, I own the first two original super mario lands (super mario land 1 and 2), and of course the original mario kart, and I own MarioKart8 (Holy crap, you have no idea how big of a shock it was to go from 1996 animation to 2011 animation. I started crying, it was incredible! And the FLYING!? Oh my goodness.), but that's it. As I said before, I have never played the wii games like mario party, super mario world, or any of that. Which I'm disappointed, because I'm sure with some practice I could kick butt and have fun doing it. But, whatever. Some day when I can actually afford a wii, as well as some games, I shall have a match with my brother. Teehee. This video really made my day though. Soooooo many memories.
Ahh..I wasn't born in the generation of gamers that had the SNES and N64s, but my older cousin has an N64, and I LOVE this game. Heck, some of the tracks on this game are even better than tracks on the newer Mario Kart games, though every Mario Kart track is good in its own way. Great video, I enjoyed skimming through it (lol I didn't have time to watch the whole thing xD)

I know it's technically not the most savvy, but one on one, it can be a very competitive game with a lot of strategy and subtlety, and my friend David and I used to play for about 90 minutes 3-4 days a week, rain or shine, for YEARS. Sometimes we even rushed home during our work lunch to play. Hell, we played in the morning on the day of his wedding! lol. We ate a lot of pizza and smoked a lot ofweed. We were MASTERS of this simple little game! Good times!

Its called "rubber band A.I.", and its in every racing game where you have opponent racers, nothing new. Some games are better or worse about it, this one is somewhere in-between, which is good. Its also because I am great at driving and racing games too lol.

Hell a game called Tokyo Xtreme Racer, the first one, only has two technically! An Inner and Outer highway route! So not all racing games have a vast number of tracks... just saying.
Thank you for this. I actually used Toad in this game. A LOT. it was either Toad or DK for me. Even though I did beat the game(all cups including mirror) with every character at least once.
No problem, this was probably the last longplay I will be able to do consequently due to all the changes on YT recently. but this was a fun one to do. I have done all the cups on all the CCs with every character multiple times over the years, couldn't begin to estimate how much time I have put into this overall.
Last one of this kind I will be putting up too since all the changes on here, not going to risk it. Mario is good and balanced, but isn't the fastest, he's in the middle of the road really, a all-rounder, as most of the middle weight class is in this.
You know that this is a Nintendo game, its not going to be on any PlayStation system or its digital store either... But I don't think Nintendo themselves have added this to their eShop for the U now that I think about it.
