There was something super relaxing about the part where Toad was plummeting through the endless black abyss while Rainbow Road played softly in the background.
I'm 5 years late, but I'm here to say that 5 minutes in the speedrun community is a very sizable difference, considering that every millisecond and every individual frame counts. Humans are still years away if they're not within the minute mark.
@@nessamillikan6247 Mk64 Grand Prix is quite RNG heavy, so 5Minutes isn't that much considering certain skips only work with Items very unlikely to be obtained.

I was eating a bowl of cereal and milk while watching this, and in the time it took to tip the bowl and finish off the milk, I had missed all 3 laps of Wario Stadium.
The thing that I love about this is the computer can't catch up to you. When you normally play the game and you have them on your tail every minute. It's a blessing to see the computer struggle
CPUs:we got players who rubberband, 2 rivals that get boosts to use against you, clipping through walls for sharper turns and much, MUCH more stuff to make your life a living hell. TASers:i got a robot
Read the submission text. Super interesting stuff. This game's RNG is the same as SM64 as described by pannenkeok?? That video is more valuable than I thought. Detailed miniturbo how-to? Usually I don't read the submission text cuz it's all very gibberish to me, but this is very useful.
A constantly improved TAS run... and somehow Moo Moo Farm, Koopa Beach, and some others are played normally. Are they just not that primed for TAS trickery or...?
widespreadinman06 Koopa Beach has that checkpoint glitch that lets him fall to 8th for a split second to get a Star, but really there isn't much to do in Moo Moo Farm seeing as the track is too wide and circular to do any glitches

I think TAS timing is different from RTA timing. An RTA run would be over at 19:10.
You know you're a god in TAS when the Mario Kart 64 IA known to always catch up to you in order to give you "challenge" cannot catch up.
