Hi, i want to make a batch, can i ask about the portion of water and the beewax mixture? Is it 100ml water and 100ml of the mixture for 2 jars of pomade?
HI, so I'm in the process of tweaking my batches, Im currently on test batch 4. I have a question, when using the project I get a really good initial hold, but after a couple of hours it starts to soften and collapse. Any advice?
Branden Rockriver soap queen says it can go in the heated water phase and can be heated up to 80c. I've been adding under 60c with vitamin e in the cool down phase c. Sometimes it causes curdling. Would someone put me out of my misery and share the water percentage ? I'll figure out the wax and oils. I'm stuck thinking 60% water or 45% water please please help?
iamshakenbake try 44%... Try adding your preservative at 80c and pouring asap afterwards... You mix is cooling down too much which could cause the waxes to flake while pouring
Just one doubt, you have figured out the ingredients amount by hard work of hit and trial but how do you know amount of preservatives and oil will work! Can you please answer..i have completed my hair product but shy to add preservative, as i don't know what amount will save or preserve the product? Is there any formula for it or just add it
@@JohnJacob ohh thanks for replying back, i just came to know now it is written on supplies technical sheet! My question was some people mix phenoxyethanol/sorbic acid/glycol 3 blends as preservatives then how do they figure out the percentage?
@@theshopper6902 a lot of research on the web... That's how I figured that I need 1% of optiphen plus in my batch...i have an open jar that's 2 years old and it's still good.
@@JohnJacob ohh yeah..optiphen is a blend of two preserve..and this must be mentioned on the container to use upto 1%..but i have seen many who like to combine and weigh blending different 3 preservatives..i was just curious to know how do they do it!
PLEASE HELP. I made an excellent pomade, but whatever i do, i keep on getting a top layer that is 'foamy', beneath this foamy layer the pomade is perfect. I tried adjusting all the ingredients and mixing with different appliances and speeds but nothing seems to solve this problem. PLEASE advise me on what I can do to solve this? Thank you in advance!
At what temperature are you pouring? Is this a WB clay? How long do wait until you cap your product. This happens because the top layer cools faster than the rest
Mother Brain I get this issue, it being too airy and foamy at top, I use water based with oils and butter, I’m trying to make a solid product not creamy like a lotion.
Awesome video mate.. you’ve been a massive help for me. I’ve watched it about 20times so far. I learn a little more as a try my brews.
I made this the other day and it became VERY bubbly. So many bubbles were left on the top of the pomade.
thanks for the video John. I want to ask how many grams preservative you used in 100 grams (4 oz) pomade?
NDYepicmotionpicture 1% total volume or for 4oz about 1.13 g in Weight
+John Jacob ok, i will try it. thanks for sharing 👍
John Jacob what's 1% in gram weight
AJ RAMOS a gram. 4 oz = 100g therefore 1%=1 gram
Can you please tell me email me the ingredients from scratch please🙏 caponefeb24@yahoo.com

What is the Name and Brand of Preservative your using.? Thanks
Yo man. Optiphen + can't be used above 135-140 degrees. It makes it ineffective. Just a heads up.
Branden Rockriver thanks for the advice... Love your pomade btw!

did you melt the beeswax completely? if you didn't then this might have caused the problems..
How do I mix oil and water any easy way?
And how to increase hold without making it hard(non water based). I want to get kind of Creamy consistency.
