I despise the JPC. It is unacceptably expensive for something that is too small to be an effective duty rig, yet too large to be an effective minimalist rig. It lives in this weird grey zone between the two where the marketing guys whose rhetoric you all fall for get to say it does both while in reality it underperforms as either. Stop buying into the hype and examine your needs (YOUR needs! Not Garand Thumb’s!) better.

I just bought and started to run a Haley Strategic flat pack on the back of my Grey Ghost Gear minimalist plate carrier. The flat pack is awesome even if you just run it as day pack without the carrier. It holds a 1.5 L hydration pack no problem and have plenty of storage space for some admin items.

I thought about doing this with my sparagus but it doesn’t have enough Velcro so I figured it was a waste of money. Wtfidea.com has some dyi gear options. Also you could probably recover your cost with the going rates of slicksters now
Honestly, for the price of a decent back panel from a reputable company, I'm surprised you didn't just use a smaller assaulters pack. That way you can access the gear without taking off your entire plate carrier or relying on someone to grab it for you. I feel like that may have been ferros intention with the non Molle back panel.

Why not just buy the molle back pannel ? That's whole point of it. The slickster isn't meant to have things mounted to the back but if you want to do it they have that molle back pannel you can buy to replace the slick back pannel. You came up with a good alternative tho. Not sure if it would be cheaper to just get the molle back pannel vs what you did or not.
@@Hoplopfheil I got a templar gear elastic cummerbund with roc buckles for mine feels pretty good so far and it still has the integrated pouches but i assume you want molle instead to fit your needs. I've been thinking of getting the molle back someday but haven't tried to buy one yet so i didn't know they had such an issue stocking them. My current plan is to build an other PC using a more "overt" carrier and keep my slickster relatively slick with the L210 i have while having thicc lvl4 plates in the overt carrier that way i have both "extremes" of the spectrum at my disposal.
So why would you choose a PC backpanel for hydration over a camelbak type hydration bag? Seems to me that a backpanel would be hard for the individual to access critical equipment compared to a backpack
If I'm going to commit to an extra set of shoulder straps, I'll just take a small backpack with a hydration bladder, some food, and other useful things. Carrier mounted hydration is pretty limited, seems most useful to me for vehicle ops.
Please don't sink any more money into that thing. I sold my old rig pretty well put together and started from scratch with a K19. Nope. I like mine fine. Bfor I broke my leg I would trail run in mine. Super comfortable. I actually did buy the molle back panel and zip tied on a camelbak ambush. Actually worked out really well

The problem with all "modular" designs is they aren't designed to do anything in particular well. Hell. Most aren't really designed. This is just another example where it doesn't do what most want better than what everyone else has made. So who's it for? Apart from the modular worship monkeys.
