As an early adopter, I have the first batch model. I had no idea that they had updated the grip! Virpil is good about fixing issues. Inexplicably, the photos of the grip on their website still show the original version. The darker red for the buttons looks good, but on pictures of the real grip, the trigger should also be the same darker shade. I have a couple of real B-8 grips, and their triggers and buttons are that dark red color. I really love this grip even with it's issues, but now I have to have the "new" one! Thanks for making this video, as I would not have known about the update otherwise.
As an owner of one of the first batch of VFX grips from Virpil, the complaints about the original "mushy" red buttons are spot on. I'm very happy to see Virpil making improvements to their gear and learning from what did/didn't work. Thanks for sharing this video with the community! Now to decide if those changes are worth an "upgrade", haha. Keep up the great work!
The Camera in question is mounted to the aircraft. Generally considered some sort of HUD or Gun camera. The purpose of which is to have a record of the target you attacked, for review during your post flight debriefing. Gun cameras have been a thing since WW2.
Got this stick (Also later revision with the improvements), was pleasantly surprised with its ergonomics I also have the T50 CM v1 and that is almost too big for my hands (and I have average sized hands) I'd say it works for the tomcat and most planes that don't have too many controls on the stick Actually contemplating on using either the DLC buttons (Because the wheel also has a button registration at its extremes) for the guns on my Spitfire Up Machine Guns, Down Cannons, side button Both Or, if possible, the Weapon selector w/push Down lock Safe/Arm, Then, Top+Push MG, Middle+Push Both, Bottom+Push Cannons The odd implementation of the real life fire controls for the Spit kinda make that appropriate The longer than real life brake lever is also a plus on the Spitfire's differential braking
I use it, I like it but I do have to say that the weapon select switch is VERY stiff and can be difficult to move, or move accurately. Some times you have to push so hard that you overshoot your intended selection. I am hoping that it breaks in some and will become a little smoother in operation.
I do the same thing with the TDC mini stick on the F-18 Throttle, drives me crazy. I ended up assigning the depress to an extra button on my Alpha prime grip, Odd but works.
I still cannot fathom that they 'solved' the wire problem.. by only shortening the wire, instead of fixing it in place like on the standard thrustmaster grips...
Honestly you are 100% right. The only reason I can think of why they didn’t do that is it makes it easier to make a twist grip for the rubber. I am looking at it right now and it has the little hole in it for the screw but there’s no screw in.
@@JPsTechReviews With the slack they initially had, you could catch the wire when you are swapping, now you have to use tweezers to pull the plug... and hope that you don't damage it with the tweezers because you are gripping it too hard....
Thank you for the follow-up review, I'll definitely consider this for the homepit collection

Thanks for this updated review. Been wanting to pick one up during the summer sale and you pushed me over the edge.

Thx for the review! I had thought about getting that grip but was put off by the bad reviews. Cheers mate!
