Very good video man. But I think the title is not fair. From the title, when I started watching it I was expecting a terrible flight. And I know this cabin, I've been on Air France's A380 a few years ago, and having flown on Qatar's whale, I do agree it's disappointing. But as you said yourself, "Great food, good legroom, nice crew [...] nothing to complain here!", so I think the video and Air France deserve a better title. But we all want little "clickbaity" titles to get more views so I know what it is haha But it's a terrific video, really. Loved it!
To answer your question about the Aerotrain, the B/C concourse was built in the 1980's as a temporary concourse, and was always meant to be replaced by something more permanent. (you will notice on the outside it looks like a bunch of containers, and the inside is noticeably worse that the A/B concourse at Dulles). Though there are no immediate plans, eventually the system would be built out to the D concourse when that is rebuilt, and possibly a future E/F concourse, so it would be built in a loop. They presumably built it to the C concourse as it is the same physical building as D, so you can just walk from one end to the other. This leaves less modernization/rebuilding needed when they eventually do knock down the current concourse and build a new one.
I would call this a very decent flight. The legroom, though not "generous", was better than some, and the food looked appetizing (by Economy standards). IFE seemed quite adequate.
The train doesn't go to the D gates because the airport is planning to build a new concourse. After that concourse is built the train will then loop back and connect to D.
I flew on the A380 for the first time last summer, and didn't enjoy it at very much. I think it depends on the aircraft: too big, not cozy, it's even difficult to look outside the window because of the big gap between external and internal wall. Huge and impressive for sure, but I'm not that sad to see it start retiring soon (with production over)!
Really? I had my most comfortable flights so far on EK's and LH's A380s... IMO it's a very quiet and relaxing plane. Additionally I thought it was very spacious
@@nicoth.412 Well I only did one return trip to the USA (two flights) on the AF A380, not much experience to judge. But on this occasion I felt like spending hours in a waiting room, a spacious yet anonymous place. I much more enjoy rides on the 777 for example, and I'm talking about economy class. The A380 is impressively quite though, I agree !
I have flown the A380 with Air France, Lufthansa and BA and hands down the most comfortable plane!, You don't get that claustrophobic feeling like you do on Single isle planes. I have also flown 747 and 787 but only the 777 comes close. I will miss the A380 😔
Why Air France would have a 2 x 2 lay out on the 380 in Business Class is beyond me !! Economy looks comfortable enough !! I like the bathroom shots just to see if the crew have actually been in there to make sure they are clean !! Reasonable flight with decent economy food etc. Well done !!
I always prefer to either walk or take those moon buggy to transfer between different terminals at IAD, the amount of time that it takes (walk + escalator) to get to the train platform from the terminal is EXTREMELY LONG and boring!
The worst airline food I ever had was a Air France flight from Singapore to Paris 4 years ago looks like it has not changed. I find the A380 always disappoints people are hyped up to expect great things and it doesn’t work like that. (Economy)
...that looks like a solid -if not downright excellent Y flight...thick, nicely padded seat with winged headrest, a clean cabin, generous legroom, a foot rest, a good hot meal, a pillow...and the quietest cabin ever! Why disappointing??? I love the A380! Long live the whale jet!
@@anthonyi6572 alitalia doesnt have a380 , about emirates i do agree . However the strategies of air france and emirates are really different with this plane. So thats the reason why AF dont invest much into it
@@stephenvincent4706 yes thanks i watched it . However as a frequent flyer is not just about sitting in a plane and show off , but also understand this industry he should know and understand why the A380 of airfrance is like this
Interesting report but your title is a bit misleading. One would almost expect the worst experience ever whereas AF's Economy Class aboard the A380 appears to be quite OK all in all. Kind of agree about AF's A380 Business Class, especially in comparison to their B777s but that's another story/video/title, right?
Well IMO the AF A380 is the most disappointing A380(check my business class video with the original "disappointing" title. That title refers to the other video I've uploaded before. But it turned out that flight was actually pretty decent, still that ECO product is compared to EK, SQ etc a bit disappointing.
Food on Business was bad. Good legroom. Nice earphones for economy. Nice breakfast. On Austrian they serve a disgusting sickly Chocolate Muffin. So dumb. I like blueberry muffins. Air France have good economy but not good Business. I don't like Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The captains English is horrible. Typical French attitude. Sounds like a rattle trap on takeoff. It struggles to get airborne. A380 is on a death spiral to oblivion in aviation history.

This title actually refers to my other AF A380 video... ;)
2:09 Airfrance needs to clean its bird
Give it a rest.
Yeah it has the jetway marks
No need for it anymore...

There business class looks like premium economy or so

those are the 3 worst A380s you can fly with haha.. try EK, QR or singapore
Well, you never disappoint with the leg shots.
A380 + got upper deck seat 🤩 (even economy class) = you so lucky 👯♀
Flew the AF A380 from Tokyo to Paris back in november 2010 when it was new.
The seats (business, premium and economy) are still the same.
What was disappointing? I've flown worse.
Thank You!

Clever clickbait Headline. But tbh looks like a good economy product!
True
I'm clever
Your title says most disappointing A380, but you never explained why in the video? Why?
I think it's based on the business class review mentioned at the beginning
isnt it self explanatory? compare this to other A380 airlines..
I live in DC so would love to fly the A380 to Paris before it's retired. The food looked good and plentiful. Thank you, Amandeuce...great video!
Air France will send the a 350 to DC.
I always prefer to either walk or take those moon buggy to transfer between different terminals at IAD, the amount of time that it takes (walk + escalator) to get to the train platform from the terminal is EXTREMELY LONG and boring!
What a nice aircraft -- kinda surprised because it is almost 10 years of age ... GREAT video once again -- thank you :)
I'm thinking the movies were doubled up for the different languages. English, French. You never scrolled to it to know.
yeah why would you do that? so annoying
Did the person like next to you say anything about filming? I'm always self-conscious when I film for trip reports.
Nope. Usually they just give me a weird look and every once in a while they ask what thats for

What date did you fly?
july 2018
I've had a good experience with the AF 380
I actually liked this economy product(upper deck only)
Nice video! Liked!
Lol the seats look like the 767 seats! And the 767 is a OLD aircraft!

If you look at the AF A380 in general and compare it to EK, SQ and so on....isn't it the most disappointing?
You should have timed the landing as well. I’m sure it takes a lot to stop such a big plane.
thats what you call most disappointing ?? but so far you havent explained why
The “...most disappointing A380” refers to his earlier video of business class on this aircraft.
Watch an Alitalia or Emirates business class video , you’ll understand.

disappointing compared to qatar, emirates, singapore... AF missed the chance to make the A380 something special. like lufthansa
The hard product not great but the soft product good thanks for the review
A380 windows still look like you are staring into a washing machine ....
Yes, AF a380‘s are very outdated... but they will retire them by 2022... i think 777-300 or maybe a350 have the best AF cabin.
Kekecom Morhax 787 has a great cabin and business class.
SnurX yes, but there are some 777 with AF first class called la pemiere and its very good.
All the A380’s are leaving the AF fleet soon, so, it really doesn’t matter at this point.

Looks like a US carrier seat like in some planes I've been to.
I think it was acceptable I guess? Btw nice and informative video!
very acceptable
Air France has a very inadequate product. Even in the premium cabin.
Compared to.....?
Manuel Gorgulho US Carriers. I have had better food in United Polaris than that- and the new seats.. AF no bueno.
That business class cabin looked pretty bismal
Awesome
If Ryanair was French
Is it the same disappointing Air France A380 that you fly business with?
yes
sehr gutes mahzeitenangebot excellent Service formidable AF wunderbar
Quelle etet aéroport de départ
washington dulles
Anybody else had "This screen is weird AF" vibes?
Nice report. It just would not be one of your videos with out a screaming kid in the background. :)
That's an airline amenity: a crying baby on every flight!
Omg i was on this flight!!!!! LOL
This actual same flight
Food on Business was bad. Good legroom. Nice earphones for economy. Nice breakfast. On Austrian they serve a disgusting sickly Chocolate Muffin. So dumb. I like blueberry muffins. Air France have good economy but not good Business. I don't like Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Second to comment and fourth to like and only 747 fans like this
French bashing 😂
Air France will retire all a 380s by 2022.

Look at sam chui
look at inflightxperience
So do you take your boyfriend with you on these trips?
boyfriend?
InflightXperience yes boyfriend.. you know.. an animal that licks you at night, and follows you if you sleep with them..
The most impractical aircraft since the Spruce Goose.
what substandard catering the whole skyteam group has lousy catering..also KLM...
I think AF has pretty decent catering...one of the best in europe IMO

Just like the 747!
The A380 as a plane is amazing and you know it
