hi Matt, just letting you know that 236/230 cam l purchased for our twin turbo L67 is working well. Made 460rwhp@12psi after only 2 dyno pulls. We stopped due to the cometic gaskets not sealing. Have since fixed the issue and will wind the boost up soon. Dan from Australia.
@OniMirage Yes, we were selling twincharge kits for the LSJ for a while. We put down over 500whp on a mostly stock motor with just valvesprings swapped. Switching to a TVS on a twincharge setup would not offer any kind of HP advantage over the twincharge setup with stock blower. The blower bypass valve is open once the turbo spools, anyway. The limitations are the poor flowing intake manifold and laminova IC cores.
@Stattama GM has build books going up to 1400hp on the ecotech engines. If I remember correctly the 2.0 LSJ build books went over 400hp on the stock supercharger. Throw in a TVS supercharger to replace the stock one on an optimized engine and you will be damn near 500 if not more. Go twin charged by adding a turbo and your over 600. There are guys over 400 on just twin charge kits without a TVS for about 3500 bucks.
@Stattama I think I worded my comment badly, it was more to say that 600 hp is possible. With the proper engine build and supporting mods and popping on a tvs and or twin charge. If you can get to 400 using the recommended GM build book on the stock super charger it is simple to say adding the TVS should net you around 20% increase in efficiency over the stock charger so about 480hp possible. Add full bolt ons and dual end plate with a good tune and your running really close to 600.
@Floor13Inc I wouldn't actually put a V8 in a Cobalt. I was just saying that you would need to change the motor to put down 600 hp with a supercharger.
@dham99 Ryan has never run down the track with anywhere near that much power. The manual trans probably wouldn't last one pass at that power. With the auto trans, he has run 10.0 in the 1/4 at half the boost and about 560whp.
what does this run in the 1/4? Thats gotta be difficult to put onto the road..still..theres no such thing as 'too much power' lol... sweet build! but I bet a cobalt with half the HP can do just as good down the track that can actually apply that to the pavement...now on the open road from a roll, thats just nasty power O.o
damn that is Bad Ass, 800hp in a cobalt, hell in a fwd is ridiculous,i bet you get beat on the track alot simply because you cant lock up traction.lol. i have a friend with a 1200hp supra and got beatin by a bone stock comaro z28 because he couldnt lock up.

Bad Ass !!!!!!!
@TurboEco Thanks. But lets not forget the other thousands of dollars to get there :)
@Floor13Inc I think it would be a serious challenge. It would be very cool if you can do it, though.

@peeonu25 Running mostly ethanol in the tank.
so what would it take to build this?
@16webb16 The head gasket was not sealing well after going past 50psi boost, so power started to drop off a little.
Matt M what type of clutch are you running for this set up?
@FearSyndr0me Pretty much. He ran 9.80s with 300 less hp than this. :)
I wonder if those VTEC kids will talk their moms into trading the civic for a cobalt now?
@Floor13Inc haha, only if you put a V8 in it.
why was it one of the last?
What bottom end setup?
what does this run in the 1/4?
