Ah thank you 😁. I always reach a point where I hate myself for trying to do big videos, and I think to myself why have I started this, I should just aim smaller and release more often. I hit that moment last night when I was trying to cut all the audio segments in and I'd been doing it for about 4 hours 🤣. But we got there in the end 😁🙌🏼
Manimarko was also the main villain pf the Mage Guild Questline in Elder Scrolls Oblivion... Shadowrend is a sword you get during Oblivion's DLC the Shivering Isles Main Questline as is Dawnbreaker/Duskbreaker and those two upgrade in power after killing 12 enemies... And Umbra is a sentient sword from Oblivion that Clavicus Vile sent you to bring to him... And Goldbrand is a Daedric Artefact in Oblivion...
Great Vid, Mike! On Shadowrend, I had the exact same reaction you did: the best solutions I found were to give it to a companion (if i were casting spells) or if you're wielding Shadowrend, make sure you take a caster companion, like J'zargo or Serana. A third option is play a 2H battlemage with a penchant for cloak spells-otherwise, Shadowrend tends to get put on a weapon rack as decoration.
Yeah its a shame when the enchantment doesn't match what it's on. I'd have probably used that sword if it was one handed as I don't often play spellswords so it would have made a nice change 😁
I don't remember Goldbrand and the beggar from the Boneshaver quest. Apparently this game is still hiding quests for me. The Civil War Champions have the most amazing armor designs in my opinion. I'm especially font of the Stormbear armor, and it even comes with a 20% shout cooldown. Combine that with the Amulet of Talos, Blessing of Talos, and the Dragon Aspect shout and you'll be sitting on a 80% shout cooldown, 100% even if you're a necromage vampire. The unofficial patch removes the necromage effects, but adds another 20% shout cooldown to the Morokei mask.
That's awesome you can get it to 100%, I've definitely played around with shout cooldown before but I don't think I've ever achieved 0% cost though. That's giving me ideas about another build idea 😁
@Leto85 I've a few ideas floating around for builds I've not really touched on yet so I could tie it into one those, for example a mage that focuses purely on illusion magic. 100% shout cooldown would be a nice addition as you could have control of the elements as well as the mind. I've not really touched much on the dwemer either, I'm sure I could think of a way of incorporating it into that
Excellent video Mike, really helpful. Regarding the Divine Crusader gear I wish Bethesda had made a good short quest out of it and then they could have included another unique weapon from Knights Of The Nine, namely "Umaril's Sword". Best regards Gary.
That's a great suggestion! I think longer quests for a few of these would be welcome. Some are fairly complex with multiple stages but a few are just "go to x, here's your reward" 😂
War maces weren’t as large as video games depict them. One function of real maces was the ability to break sword blades. This goes very back in history to a treatise by I believe the Babylonians. Medieval and Renaissance steel wasn’t that much a step above iron, not like today. It was a softer steel but stronger than iron. Video games don’t give us that ability, unless to give a disarm ability.
That's actually really interesting, thanks for sharing. I guess it makes sense they weren't as huge as video games depict them. I'm not sure how easy to swing things like the mace of molag bal would actually be. Unless you had forearms like popeye 😂
I understand what you're saying about Shadowrend regarding using magic. But shouts also count as magic 😉 and don't forget to add the Visage of Mzund to your dwarven plate, sunder, and Wraithguard lol
Yeah true, theres not an awful lot of shouts that deal raw damage. And those that do tend to have higher cooldowns. Soul Tear I think does 300 damage. So you'd do 345 after hitting with the sword. Ive not tried it out with Marked for Death. I used the Visage of Mzund in a recent build I did, great helmet and the effect is cool and unique. That was added in the Dragonborn DLC I think?
Top notch guide as always, thank you. Some of these I have discovered myself through my playing but there are some others you showed here I would really like to get.
At the end of the Redguard Remnant Armor quest, there is an unenchanted version of those 2 weapons you get from the chest in Purewater Run(Remnant Scimitar) in the back of the wagon next to the man(Rakeed) you rescue from the Thalmor. Great video by the way! 👍😄
With Shadowrend, you could maybe cast a cloak spell like Flame Cloak before using the weapon. You'll be in melee range anyway, so the enemies will take more damage from the spell while you're hitting them with the weapon.
Another outstanding job! A true encyclopedia of the new weapons. I rather enjoy the oblivion throwback for some of these weapons! A shame you can’t pick up daedric horse in the one area. 😂
Thank you 😁. The Daedric horse can actually be summoned, I think there is a tome somewhere for it. It works a bit like the summon arvak spell, so you can only cast it for a short space of time. Not ideal for actually using as a steed for long distances, however it does have a massive health pool. So you can actually summon it for combat purposes which is funny 😂. I can't remember how you get the tome though, but its in the deadlands.
Many, many thanks. Have you tried disenchanting any of these weapons? I would be giving that a try if I had the anniversary edition. I haven’t bought it because I’ve previously bought nearly everything individually from the Playstation store.
Looks interesting will have to watch. A quick question, I'm level 20 and just doing the early Companions quests. I take it enemies are also leveled, as I'm encountering bandit plunderers, etc and keep getting my arse kicked. And my spellsword character just seems to weak, which may be my build obviously.
Yeah that is correct, the game levels as your character does. Early on it's good to focus on your core combat skills and defense, the base of the skill trees offer 20% increments to these up to 100%, so you can make your character a bit tankier and hit harder each time. If you spread points quite thinly or focus on a lot of non combat skills. The game can get more challenging. Don't forget things like enchanting, smithing etc. Small improvements to armor, or wearing/enchanting jewellery can help. Finally, if you are putting more points into magicka and stamina, at the detriment to health, this will also impact your overall ability to take a hit 😁
@tattyman4191 I have done yeah I think I called it 'How to make a Dark Spellsword'. It's basically a spellsword I just tried to tell a story with it because the armor set I used comes off a Corrupted Knight
I missed the Light of Day mace and need to get it for completion sake; where is the armory located again? I'll be able to find it in tunnels if it's in a cave or ruins
Ah that one I think is in the case on the right as you enter the armory, the armory I think is the one that is straight ahead from the main hall? I can't remember exactly it's been a while since I was in there
@georgemercer402 it's solstheim, called Ashfalls Tear I think, you go through there and there's a puzzle to solve, that the leads you into an impressive room with a huge statue and that's the entrance to the cult
23:20 I agreed on the lack of dialogue in these amazing anniversary mods. Though, now there are chat programs that can duplicate voices with just hearing a few lines of a person's speech. It'll be great to have that implemented into Skyrim's modding.
That Bloodthirst weapon says “targets take additional bleed damage” but swords don’t naturally give bleed like axes. Do y’all know wether that weapon causes bleed? Or do you gotta pair it with an axe to get it’s effect?
It does cause bleed yeah, similar to how the shield targe of the blooded does as well. Axes need the relevant perk to unlock it don't you first, without the perks you don't get the bleed effect. Whereas the sword and the shield mentioned do it without the need for a perk
Better location instructions would be nice, I had to open google aswel as this video to find out where I was going but overall the effort put in is great ☺️
I used a save that I'd used to film other videos to catalog all these, so I'm gonna assume I was in the 30's possibly? It wasn't a new game. I'd have to load it up to check exactly what it was though and what my stats were.
@@mike-thegamingdad 🤣 well I did finally get TESV: Skyrim AE for Xbox one finally so... also had an idea for a build but it's not conventional in the slightest 😅
In a sense, yes. It came out in Novemver 2021, at the 10 year anniversary. Its basically a collection of all the creation club content at the time, plus new pieces. In a technical sense, it's still Special Edition. AE was just a collection of mods that you could purchase as an upgrade if you wanted. Tp upgrade it cost about the same as a DLC would. I myself switched from PlayStation to PC last year so bought it as a new copy and paid full whack
@thedepressedfatguy4070 hmm that is very strange. Not sure what to suggest I can't say its something I've come across, although I've only done that quest I think twice
So these updates were part of the Anniversary Edition update that came out in Novemver 2021, but in order to get them you had to purchase the upgrade (was about £15/$15 I think). The update that has happened recently was something different
@rogerchandler2241 excellent, just click onto 'Creation Club' or 'Creations' on the main start menu and check all the content says installed, and not download. I've seen a few people have AE, but the content hasn't automatically installed itself. Its simple to do, just annoying as they were playing the game without the new stuff they'd paid for 😁👍🏻
