INSANE Eye of Hurricane Helene & Relief Efforts
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2024
- Historic Hurricane Helene is captured on camera in this raw video from the Big Bend area of Florida. The powerful eyewall hammered Perry and the rest of the area with huge Category 4 hurricane winds, triggering power flashes and huge wind damage. To the north, North Carolina recovery efforts were witnessed thanks to Chris Hall, who's been doing amazing work since the effort started. And of course, we have Hurricane Milton ramping up...
Thanks to @606stormchasing (Chris Hall) for showing us the relief effort in North Carolina on the ground! @EdgarTheStormChaser

It's nice that after such a crazy tornado season Reed gets to just settle down and relax in some Cat 4 hurricanes.
😂
When the power goes out and the storm passes you can see the milky way because the hurricane wiped out the city's light pollution.
Looks like Hurricane Milton will be another nighttime landfall
I’m fort Myers praying this things stays north hope you do a live stream soon for some updates 🙏
Please look up patent number US 2003/0085296A1 weather is a weapon.
What time do you think it will make land fall 🤔
@@ryangraham7012 luckily it’s shifting south some critics are saying fort Myers might get hurt worse then Tampa if this continues
@@narutofanman ur an funook 👍
Reed is literally the most morally sound person alive. Stopped at a redlight during a 140 mph winds.
Crossed double yellow stripes. Give this man his ticket. lol
These 4 are the most reckless children I have ever seen
@Anonymousones1 do I want to do what they do? No. Do I respect what they do, and understand that what they do is necessary? Yes. Not everyone should do what Reed does. But then, most folks *can't * do what he does.
@@Anonymousones1Reed Timmer has a PhD in meteorology and does these storm chases to collect vital, lifesaving data and showing the rest of us what these storms can do. Some people won’t take weather forecasts seriously unless they see, first hand, what these storms can do. Dr. Timmer’s taking us directly into these storms to show people what’s up, so they leave lmao
habit.
Dude is rocking the 70’s style!!!
It’s wild to me how many other drivers were out in that.
@@thatmombielife I can promise you 80% of the cars you see I bet they doing the same thing they doing storm chasers it’s wild though
People in Florida are nuts man XD.
@thatmombielife
Probably borrowing some other ppl belongings.
I thought the same thing.. Lotta headlights for a hurricane
yeah how could they get out in the storm
You guys remind me of my crazy adventurous husband. I miss him. He was a submariner in Navy. Been gone since 2015. God Bless 🙌 you guys and keep you safe. ❤
That dome home is how every new home should be built in wind country.
The 70's called. They want that outfit back.
bwahahahaha my first thought 🤣🤣
They also want their joke back
That's local man weather for ya lol.
1:25 😂 they missed the opportunity to put a soundtrack from saturday night fever
LOCAL WEATHERMAN WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED! Otherwise you get POUNDED!
Thank you for covering this, and I have to admit I was worried for you, and imagining your parents giving you lectures for putting your safety at risk. But it's fascinating and sad to see how big an impact the hurricane has had. It's a shame that it sometimes takes loss to bring communities together, almost like it brings humans back to their roots. Appreciate you 😊
man I truly wish I could go on a chase with you all. Im retired do to my health. Loved Meteorology all my life, used to give my school winter weather updates in class. This is def a bucket list for me before my time has come. 50 years old with over 6 replacement surgeries and early Parkinson's for me. Stay safe gentleman but stay aggressive and ahead of things. Chase Chase Chase . Thank you gentleman for giving us the real look into what happens.
God Bless you and I hope your bucket list is totally fulfilled. ❤
Watching this as a national guard member who got put in Fort Meyers for hurricane relief
I'm bout to get this experience personally lol
Edit: I also wanna say that anyone here that isn't military personnel or helping in any other way with recovery to get the heck out of here!
@@hestoncjr.3560 be careful out there man
@@hestoncjr.3560 stay safe and thank you for your service!
Good luck.
bet that’s interesting in ur army trucks too lol
if you gotta ride it out, film it at least! Godspeed!
This is crazy I’m looking in my radar on the weather channel. I have never seen a hurricane this powerful ever in history.
@@westonfranz3439 and there have been only 2 hurricanes that have originated from the gulf and traveled west like milton since 1850.
Wasn't it predicted early on to not become hurricane strength?
@@luv2luv720 yea
Hurricane can’t hit Tampa Bay it’s an Indian burial ground it has a lot of History what the Indians are claiming anyway!!
Well, here comes Hurricane Milton to really blow our minds!
He’s making me think of Lt Dan out there in the eye of the storm screaming with excitement 😂
I get that a lot!
If you’re going to have an indestructible dome home, I feel like you should build an indestructible dome garage at least.
3:29 That pose in those clothes hurt more than hurricane Helene. :F I need eye surgery to survive.
I'm seeing a bumper sticker or a t-shirt with "That pose in those clothes!" 😂 BRILLIANT!
That low roar in a powerful hurricane will always give me adrenaline rushes.
Milton is one of the very few long with Katrina to be supercharged over the gulf so anyone in Florida be safe get out if you can ❤️
God bless these awesome Citizens .. TY ..
Sending prayers out to anyone impacted by the last hurricane, this coming one, and the next. Sending prayers out to my loved ones who are still in the thick of things.
In your video it showsFEMA supplies @28:38 just because you didn’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t doing anything. I’m a Katrina survivor and know all the efforts made to get supplies and relief as soon as possible to the affected areas
Of course they are going to be there. But where is there? How many places, how much is the effort? And how much effort are they making to keep people from helping other people. A lot of questions, and it seems many people who are actually there are angry. And then of course you have 750$ Per family, IF they qualify, and IF they can get online to fill out a form. It's a joke. But we can foot the tax bill to send billions to other countries for their wars, right? Give me a break.
Call your representative in congress to get back in Washington DC to vote for aid for these poor people !!!
Yep FEMA isn't perfect but they absolutely have been responding to this. I'm in East TN. They are here and have been doing life saving work.
This narrative that people are trying so hard to push that FEMA hasn't been here at all is strange. Unfortunately looks like a lot of people are taking advantage of this disaster as an opportunity to sow mistrust in FEMA, and by extension the current administration, for political gain. So now we have disaster victims afraid to take the $750 emergency grant because they believe they'll have to repay it with interest due to misinformation being spread, or they don't access FEMA supply resources that they're entitled to because they've been told they aren't available so they don't even try.
I think Reed's a good dude and his heart is usually in the right place but it is weird to see him repeatedly pushing this anti FEMA messaging this week. Especially as he's literally showing piles of FEMA supplies as he's claiming they haven't had a presence there. And the "I haven't seen a representative yet" while failing to mention that he was only in NC for one day, a week after the disaster. (To clarify, I'm not hating on him for not being there more, I know he was having logistical issues with aquiring a vehicle and figuring out travel with a dog that's very old and not in the best of health so I'm not judging him for that at all. I just think he should have been upfront about that when he was claiming he hasn't seen FEMA presence though.)
I officially want to be part of the Reed Timmer team! The rush just watching this video is something i want to experience!
I’m here as always from FL a Thank you !!!
16:57 “ *WOOoOoaaoHoHooOħOHOooH* “ owl ahh laugh💀🙏
The mad scientist 😂
Reminds me of being in El Salvador back in 2000 and surviving earthquake aftershock while with a medical missionary team. Scary. But so glad I was there and here to tell my story.
Here in Jacksonville praying for all of us😢🙏
I sat and watched as you chased Hurricane Francine into New Orleans. You actually drove by 1/4 mile from my location during that adventure. The i watched 2 weeks later as you chased Helene into Perry. Glad you didn't stick around in Steinhatchee.
He’s enjoying himself while there’s a whole hurricane going on😂
Reed I said it once and I will say it again, you are the Eddie Van Halen of storm chasing. Damn dude that was some really insane wind and rain
Not a chance in H£[[ would i ever want to be caught up in this Monster of a Storm. Prayers for everyones Safety 🙏🏼
dam bet you werent thinking you would be doing this again so soon, best of luck and prayers your way !!
Couldn't sleep 😴. Found you guys. What an adventure you all took. Exhilarating. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Wow. What a ride. Thanks again.
Id love to be there and help. DOMINATE 😮😮😮😮
It's weird seeing Reed look so much older now! I remember watching Tornados Chasers back in the 2012-2013 season when he was just a PhD student!
Repositioning right in front of the eye seems actually kinda relaxed. No traffic, free to go wherever you need to be
Thanks for taking the risk to provide us with this experience. Those of us that live outside hurricane impact zones may never experience the damage and recovery efforts.
U do great work thank you for the personal look unedited, real life😊
Man, I'd give quite a bit to get a ride along with Reed and the team into a hurricane. That looks so fun!
I've had SOOOOO MANY dreams of being in one of these houses and waiting and watching the storm hit us
Hey reed! Awesome video keep it up! I’m so glad you’re posting again! I can’t wait to see more videos like this! Never stop chasing!!
Stay safe Reed!!!!❤
Austin Powers is dope
Appreciate you putting your life at risk for footage like this, I live in Ohio and couldn't even fathom a storm like this
Love your stuff reed I've been I'm 21 and have been a fan since storm chasers
At this point, I'm just worried for my people in Central and South Florida. I will try to help them after Milton passes by however I can: by sending water, by sending money through my church, spending my savings at their places of business in Miami (shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc).
Luv bakeries
I’m praying for all of those who are about to encounter Milton. 🙏
Disco Matt ! Lovin' the Red Jumpsuit - smart choice.
when they're not talking, you can really hear the Roar Sound of those Winds & almost feel the actual rocking of the Car. Incredible! Those Power Lines snapping & popping around like Whips or angry (VERY angry) Snakes
Reed, I always visit your channel for current weather info. Thank you for all you do.
I’m grateful that your Mom is alright.
Y’all please be careful. Storm surges aren’t anything to play around with. Look at W N.C. and E TN. Yeah the mom in me is coming out. Sorry.
Caring is a beautiful thing that you shouldn't need to apologise for 🤗
Oh my goodness...Please be safe for all of you!! 😎❣✌
Thanks Reed! Incredible footage! ❤
Love your passion and excitement 😊
Reed always has the best videos!!! This one the best yet. Good job guys!!
Reed you should maybe close the helmet straps 😂
While I can't say one way or other if such a being exists..... I just know it wasn't God out there with the recovery efforts. Kinda amazed me how much regular people were doing for people they don't even know from so far and wide. Beautiful!
Thank you for being out there for the we live on the west Coast
Oh No!!! What is buddy wearing?!?!?
Was watching the live when Reed was making his brilliant, hurricane chasin’ chant…”This is what we do…this is what we do…this is what we do.” Lmao! 😂🙌🏼
So thrill !!!
Wow, that was so insane watching this! Got my adrenaline goin ngl. So sad to see the destruction and loss 💗 we are with you. So glad your crew is safe

It scares me watching him on his phone so much while driving 😱 Edit: I almost forgot to mention what a snazzy dressed man Matt is!! 🥰
One community, a guy came in n dug a new well and people got water! 🤗
Reed thank you for what you do to report on storms! The head of fema was just on NBC telling all she has sent Fl. ahead of Milton. She did not send any ahead of Helene or after! Why?? People &Churches responded to help!! Why has she done this??
I love your outfits @localmanweather!
That circa 1970 las vegas attire is dead on. Complete with the elvis hairdoo was on point. I assume that was the look he was going for right? Right ??
1:28 that get up makes me happy 🕺
At least the osprey is havin' a good day 😳
When he went outside during the eye wall he reminded of the two crazy guys on into the storm 15:06
Reed gets outta his Tank and flips Helene the bird, will reed have da Guts to get out of his Tank and Flip Milton the middle bird.🥶
Interesting note (ha), the tone created when mains power arcs is actually 120hz, -since it's 60hz two-phase separated 180°- . If it were 60hz it'd be so low you'd have trouble hearing it. It is definitely a very sharp Bb tho, in fact it's pretty much dead center between Bb and B, so B quarter flat.
I was wrong, turns out it's actually because the sound waves hit their highs at both the peaks and valleys of the electrical wave, so it's always double the AC frequency regardless of phases.
I am left with the image of Brian's naked head burned into my retinas.
that seagull be snackin 0:32
Yo I was here!
Stay safe guys and NSC ❤
