Thanks for the great information. I have a question. If I have a listing on ebay,ca do people in the US see it?
WOOF! Yes, they CAN see it, unless they choose to only look at items available in the US (which some folks might do). Your Canadian listing will show up with the price "converted" to US funds for them to buy! Hope this helps
What does this term mean?..."Shipping cost cannot be calculated since the item location is different from the site. Use flat rate shipping."...when I try to list I only have the option of flat rate? I am in Ontario and I want to ship anywhere in North America. This is my first listing. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.
If you are selling from Canada, you need to decide if you are selling on .com or .ca. From there you will set up shipping for the US and for Canada. They are separate and you must set them up separately. Hope this helps.
If you are living in Canada and you have a US bank account with Scotiabank and if you link that account with ebay then we can avoid that PayPal fee correct?
WOOF! When you set up your account with ebay in their managed payments, you will have to choose what currency you are paid for. Ebay does still charge a "payment" fee like Paypal did though (its 2.7% i think) so you don't get rid of that any way!

Very interesting, nearly at the end but so far no mention of any import duties payable on an item shipped to the U.S., are there ant duties due?
WOOF! Sorry for the delay in answering....you can send into the US up to $800 US without them paying for Duty! (But anything over $300 will need to have a manifest/shipping packing slip) attached!
I’m from ontario. And wanted to list in US eBay. What address you put in your return label. Can you make a Video also of the process. Thank you.
You can list on the US ebay site - just sign into ebay.com under your ebay Canada name. If you do that, you really need to use a cross border shipper and usually they will provide you with a US return adress.
Thanks for the great information. One question, when you choose pricing for the flat rate shipping, are you picking a location furthest away from you and every buyer is charged that same shipping fee? For example I'm in Toronto, should I choose California and Vancouver?
Yes, that is how flat shipping would work - the same rate for all of the US or for Canada. We use 90210 to check for California shipping rates, and take the average shipping rates to Prince George BC (V2N4V7), North Vancouver BC (V7M2G3) and Corner Brook NFLD (A2H6T2) to determine a Canadian flat rate (shipping zones in Canada are complicated - the more rural the address, the higher the cost).
@@2DogsDigs Cool... I was born in Prince George.
Thank you Very informative. When you are in Canada and selling on .com How do you go about setting up US banking details on Managed Payments?
At this stage eBay Canada has told us NOT to sign up for managed payments, so we have not got the answer .....yet. As soon as we know more, we will let you know!
@@2DogsDigs Any updates on this please and thank you?
Amazing content btw first time seeing your channel.
Hey David, Did you figure out the answer to this? Should I be putting my RBC USA Cross-Boarder Bank Account Details in? Where it asks for Transit Number should I put in the Routing Number? Thanks
@@2DogsDigs any update on this ?
@@BrentPeluso any success on this ?
thanks guys! awesome vid
WOOF! Our pleasure!
No mention of any import duties payable on an item shipped to the U.S.
The threshold for import duties into the US is $800 USD - all of our sales to date have been below this threshold. Woofs!
Nice video! Do you have to do either or? Or can you list the item in both?
WOOF! You can list on both sites no problem, but we list on the us .com site only and have done this for 25 years. BUt if you have an item you ONLY want to sell and ship in Canada - then put that on .ca!
As a Canadian If i use a fake U.S. Address for item location will it be a problem?
Not really - a US address will really only affect the delivery times shown to the buyer. If you are listing with a US address, it will be 5+ days SHORTER than if you did it with a Canadian address (as the Cdn address assumes delays for crossing the border). We only recommend this IF you use a Cross Board Shipper. You can use their US address or one of yours. Hope this helps! WOOF
@@2DogsDigs I am a US citizen that sells on eBay but we are planning on moving to Ontario. Are you saying that with these cross border shippers, you can spoof your address as being in the US and all listings will look like US listings? Can you share what the best Cross Broder Shippers are? Thank you so much. I am subscribing BTW. Great information,
Wow you cleared my confusions sir, im glad I watched your video. Subscribed!
WOOF! Thanks and welcome to our channel!
great video! thanks!!
Thanks so much for your help Craig!
Happy to help!
Great info, do I have to use a US address to create an account on pirate ship?
Yes you do, and if you do create an account, make sure to go and ask them to add their International Export Rate to your choices (its not automatic). WOOF!
hi sir, im from canada, i listed one shoes in ebay , i tried international shipping in u.s, asia, europe, and australia, ebay keeps on sending me that i have to edit the location and the shipper, which is only the canada post is the only one on the list, the location was right the weight and everything but still i cant revised my post.
Think we cleared this all up? You good now? WOOF!
Do you charge sales tax on US?
Most websites like eBay collect AND remit the Tax by state for you. Saves you haveing to file in every state! (They also started doing it for the UK taxes as well in January)
Question if you do flat rate do you ever lose a few bucks on shipping?
Nevermind scratch that lol
If you use the "farthest" away location you usually wont...but if you average between far and closer, you could loose out a little here and there...but overall it should be fine!
god bless this man
Jeezus… I can’t even find your Facebook page!
Hey Dee - our Facebook page is part of the Kennel Club membership, so you would get an invite if you joined up for that. Otherwise, we are big participants on The Complete Reseller and Thrifting Board Facebook groups - so you can always call us out there! WOOF!
Do you still use your Canadian address?
We don't use our Canadian address for any shipping as we use a Cross Border Shipper for sending and a US address for returns (which are rare).
Ok yes I understand now.
So a cross border shipper who can I use? I live out in the boonies lol
Wow this is very helpful thanks so much
@@saradyck2212 same question
So let's say I ship from the US... I sell something in the US but the buyer wants to return it... My return address is in Canada right? Do I need to pay more shipping as US to Canada would be more costy...?
There are a few variables. You say you ship from the US. If you use a Cross Border Shipping service - it will likely give you the ability to use their US address for returns (Stallion Express and Chit Chats Express offer this option, for example). At 2DogsDigs, we have a US mailbox that we use for returns.
@@2DogsDigs I don't understand how the return gets to you in TO. even if you have a us box, ? you can't possibly drive to your US box to get it? so how does it get to you?
