This has been incredibly helpful to me; It's a blessing to me and my family that you took the time to share this. Please do one on your process for selling clothes! Thanks!
If anyone wondering why a pair sold for $299 while the average is like $30. They likely didn’t sell it for that high. What happened was sometimes seller do cross posting. They might put-on local Facebook market place as well. So if someone says they will pick up the next day ( but seller can’t be for sure they will show up, so they don’t want to remove listings from ebay but they don’t want anyone on ebay buy it while it’s a pending sale with local person. So they changed the price to supper high on ebay like $299 so no one will buy it. If the local person bought it then they will go back to ebay and end the listing. Somehow sometime ebay show it as sold for $299 even they just end the listing, not sold it on ebay.
Thank you for this excellent video! You have helped so much! I realize now that I have been listing my shoes all wrong. No wonder they have taken so long to sell, and I’ve probably let them go for too cheap! You are one of the few you-tubers out there that truly gives information that will help me in my re-sell endeavors!
Glad to help Julie! I should mention that even though roughly 50% of all my listings sell within a 90 day period - I don't necessarily want fast sales. The reason for this is because I'm a one man show and I don't want to spend 1-2 hours a day shipping, among other things. If it got to that point I would require help and I want nothing to do with hiring employees (or having family help me). I want to sell more doing less work so raising my prices (assuming my listing is the best listing with great photos, etc) makes sense for the way I run my life. I target specific keywords that I know (without a doubt) are the ones that drive my sales. This narrows the list of potential buyers considerably - but it all but guarantees that I attract the 'near' perfect buyer for each sale. And that near perfect buyer is one willing to pay a higher price.
I agree, I really appreciate this video. Had no idea about the "terapeak"? I gotta go slower to look at that. Thanks so much! Will definitely be following you as I'm a mom trying to be home more myself and go part time at my full time job.
New subscriber. You have posted this video 2 years ago. I just watched today, I listed my first pair of Nike shoes today. All because of this informative video... 👏
I missed this video, glad I came back for it. I have not had much luck with shoes, and now I know why. You have a lot of little nuggets of info in this video. Thank you so much for doing this one. Great advice!
I just watched this video of yours last night and Ohhh so helpful. I've been struggling with pictures and colors not looking right. Best tip to take photos on an overcast day! It's snowing here today but bright and getting great photos. Thanks and love your channel.
Thank you so much for the info! As a new reseller I have relatively slow shoe sales, but I haven't been inputting the style and colorway and UPC numbers. Hopefully that change will positively impact my sales!
I learned some things here. My Question is : How do you have your items authenticate. Does Ebay automatically do it when you put your shoes on sale. I have a few that I need to list and I am afraid to make a mistake. Thank you , Great information.
How do you get your photos inserted in one key stroke? I have put a lot of the things I learned in this video into practice and thanks to you am sourcing a lot more shoes. Waiting for the sales to catch up - but much more confident in my choices and my potential thanks to you.
Thank you for your wonderful video. Very seldom do I sell shoes. I sell a lot of dishes and collectibles. When I leave out any of the recommended items specifics, I’m sent a ton of tasks to fill in item specifics! I feel so overwhelmed when EBay does that. You’re very inspirational! Thank you!
You are very welcome! Don't let item specifics stress you out. Regarding shoes they are mostly a total waste of time and energy. Go source a few pairs!
Thank you so much just listed first shoe. You spoke a bit fast but I paused and continued. Thank you for this video. It's a lot of information and extremely useful. Thank you again.
So helpful. Thank you. I’ve watched this multiple times. I might have even commented already. 🤓🤭 Getting ready to list every pair of shoes that no longer fit my children. Bucks County, PA in the house. 🙌
@@DadPlanet Ooffaa. I’m getting discouraged already. Lol. Lots of dog hair inside these shoes. These are harder to clean than some bins finds. 😁Thanks for the encouragement and I’ll keep watching for motivation which is what I get when I tune in.
Thank you for the great video! I've been cleaning my shoes by hand - no wonder I hate selling shoes! Putting them in the washing machine is so smart! Do you leave the insoles and laces in when you wash them too?
I always keep the insoles and laces in. Keep it uber simple! That said - my water bill is outrageous (slight exaggeration). I wash so many pairs of shoes this way but it works and it's easy.
@@DadPlanet I was making the process way more difficult than it needs to be! My water bill is already ridiculously high, so what's a few more bucks, right? :)
Great info in this video, Brendon!! I am mostly a vintage glass and dinnerware seller, but after watching you for the last few months, I have ventured out to shoes and clothing. Thank you for all of your tips and tricks!!!
Thanks for making this video. Might be harder to list the style name of pieces of clothing but I surely love your efficiency when filling out the eBay categories. Really redundant and I’m going to follow your lead by ignoring some of them.
This is a super beginner course just on how to list. I am more interested in knowing how much I have to have listed in order for it to be worth making it a full time venture. I also set my shoe box dimensions at 15x8x5. I round up to 15, and 8, and just a quarter inch down to 5. The 9 dimension doesn't make sense since it is under 8 inches, so you only need to round up to 8 inches. Also, another tip to maybe get an exact color, or find an exact price range of a shoe when brand new is to Google it. If it is still a fairly new model, you may find your exact same shoe, price, color and all.
I enjoyed your tutorial video. I see that you tend to delete or leave blank most of the item specifics. Apparently it works out for you as your store is successful. I feel pressure to fill those in since that "# add item specifics" is always staring me in the face on the app. So would you say that filling those in would be more of a detriment than a help to a listing?
Do you have to have a eBay store in order to go the research part of selling under your account on eBay? I do t have that option under my account. I have about 100 items on eBay but haven’t made a sale yet so I haven’t bought a store. All my sales have been on poshmark so far.
Great information! Thank you so much! Quick question, your metal/glass table is just like my table on my porch, my has white chipped paint. Should we clip that out? Wondering if when someone looks at the table and sees the chipped paint it affects what they think of my items. Like, chipped paint is okay so the sneakers might not be good either. I don’t want anything to take away from the shoes, I was affected, seeing that chipped paint on the table in yours. In your opinion, should I be careful what’s in the background and will it affect someone else like it was really noticeable to me?
This is a very good question and I've thought about this a few times - that paint coming off is me removing a thrift store sticker, putting it in that spot, and then peeling it which removes the paint. I added another small table on my deck to shoot images on but I've never considered the paint chips an issue. If they are an issue to a buyer, and that buyer passes on my listing, that's not a buyer I wanted in the first place so it almost weeds bad and/or needy buyers out if that makes any sense
* Thank you for making this information clear & Useable.. Appreciate the ideas . You put in Width ! ! Smart ~ so many people don't understand just how Important that is.. Can't emphasize strongly enough.. You stop Returns that way..
