27:00 Eight month ago I realized, that I will die soon on complications of T2D. My doctor said "It is age", but my condition got worse with every visit to renew my prescription ( 8 different medications). Anyway, I postulated, that despite doing all the things my doctor told me and I still get worse all the time, better I do the opposite... certainly I had nothing more to lose.
I went home, did not fill my prescription and started cleaning out the pantry and refrigerator. This was the moment when I considered donating all the food I considered to be the cause of my illness, but then I threw it all in the garbage. Because donating food which I thought is killing me to others is nothing less than attempted murder.
I threw away $200 of food, then went shopping and spend maybe $200 on sardines, eggs, meat and dairy. Drink is only water, no alcohol and most important no sugar or seed oil.
I lost 50lbs in 3 month and my insulin resistance is getting better, but total success may take a very long time.
Yes, you do not give bad food to others.

I've had the same thoughts about donating "frankenfoods". In fact, had to drop out out from volunteering at our local food bank when I saw the "food" being handed out to the families depending on the hand outs.

Triglycerides ratio to HDL is the only number you need to look at.
Higher LDL group has lower amount of heart disease.

Amazing daily drink as a lunch treat. 4oz tart cherry juice, hand full of blueberries and handful of strawberries, 1/4 of a lemon, 1 nice size cube of ginger, 2 celery sticks cut into blender pieces. Put in a blender and when done drink up and you will feel the most amazing rush to the body. inflammation reduction and just plain vitamin and mineral boost. Happy body happy mind.

Wow Max. I really admire you or should I say admired. Whst is wrong with protecting animals and showing people what they are really eating? And how these animalls are raised. ANd lets not forget the huge amount of food that can be grown on the same amount of land. There is a huge benefit in eathing an omnivore diet of course, as there is in eating in a vegan diet. Christopher Gardner has admitted in podcasts that this study was not so great. But you are now coming out on the biased side of an omnivore diet. How about someone being neurtral and pointing out the good and bad of both?

    Question?
Lard or tallow is a pure fat that gets solidified when cooled!
    What temp is that cooling?
Then when its above that point its a liquid, correct?
Well in the body our temperature is regulated around 36-37*c.
So in the body lard or beef tallow would be like the lubricant oil in engines!
So in reality is fat or lard actually bad?
I think the misconception is when people look at cooled fat thats turns white and solidifies is what happens in the body!
But, in the body fat or lard would never be a solid, its impossible due to the bodies normalized temp!
Has anyone ever taken this perspective?

  • @JamesDurcan

Omnivores are going to be biased, vegans will be biased, pescatarians, carnivores and such… But when you get down to crux of everything . There are 2 pretty sound facts at play amidst all the noise..
    1. You can be happy and healthy on a vegan diet ( and vegan diets are well suited all the way from pregnancy to elderhood )
    2. When you vote with your dollar for meat or dairy you are strengthening very violent/foul systems ( yes even pasture raised/grass-fed I.e. Decapitation.). - and on top of that wittingly or unwittingly we teach our kids that violence is ok and bullying those smaller than us is ok.
I’m sure this post will not be received well here but maybe let it set and think about it

A study in 2018 found that over 7.3 Billion animals died just in the USA from crop production. As an animal lover, do they matter? And lets say a cow lived in the ‘wild’. What chance would it have to live a long life and not get agonisingly torn apart by a carnivore of some type? Compared to a nice comfortable life and one moment they do not see coming. But I get it, I bought the whole vegan concept nearly 30 years ago. Took me a long time to admit to myself that it was not serving me. Now predominantly carnivore for 10 months and 17kgs down, muscle up, 21cms off the belly. Feeling great

    • @JamesDurcan
      @JamesDurcan 4 місяці тому +1

@@goranhemstrom3355 I would not doubt that that study is accurate ( maybe seems a little high ). What matters is the fact that we are DIRECTLY paying for animals to go to their unneccesary death ( and experience bullying and exploitation along the way ). We do not live in a vegan world and most farmers do not care about by-kill. But we HAVE to eat so it is justified. Also you have to consider that their are 80B land animals killed every year and we gotta feed them too brother - so the bykill from that crop production would far exceed that of exclusive veggie farming for humans...food for thought.

  • @CrunchyPopZ

I feel like I watched a completely different documentary - I just want to preface this by saying I eat meat before you come at me.
In the documentary they were upfront about the loss of muscle mass in vegans, the fact they have to eat way more calories than omnivores to reach the same level as them. They also stated the importance of skeletal muscle, the fact dementia can be staved off through a healthy diet. All things you preach Max.
The factory farming element is a sad reality and detrimental to the environment, which you just brush under the carpet during your discussion. Imagine if that were plant crops doing the same level of destruction (which in some cases it can), you'd be all over it.
You have become so biased Max. I used to like your work as you never got swept up in the tit for tat diet wars. I'm sure you'll write a comment telling me to unfollow or go away as you now do, when somone challenges your view.

I've listened to Tim Spector on many UA-cam channels including his own, Zoe and he seems to go based on a lot of his own experiences regarding what & how he eats, not basing what he does on data, studies & information. How could it have been so eye-opening to him that what he used to eat for breakfast (banana, oatmeal, etc), not that long ago, spiked his blood sugar... I thought he was on top of the information... why would anyone listen to someone who JUST RECENTLY realized the effects of high-glycemic-loaded foods when that information has been known for so long!!!???? Ummm, I think I'll listen to the REAL EXPERTS... Don Layman, etc.

REALLY?!! HE, WHO IS SUPPOSEDLY on the CUTTING EDGE of health & nutrition & studies just found out about that in the last year?!! For him to just recently discover that eating high glycemic foods in the morning (I believe it was specifically a banana), should not have been such an eye-opening discovery for him- not for someone like him...
