About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation’s history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It’s just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

“I’m black I haven’t been able to vote twice”😭😭😭
I died when she said that!
There's a real irony to have the history of Carrie Nation narrated by a woman who is steadily slurring more and more of the words.
Carrie Nation had more to do with establishing Prohibition and the later war on drugs. Women's temperance movements advocated getting women the right to vote in order to ban liquor. Strange they gave her a thumbs up for being against what they were doing...
Just go with it
*spinning* in her grave 😂
"School Bus driver? More like I.....dropped out of school...t-to become the greatest criminal of the kiiiinndd" Brilliant Reenactment Vanessa.
11:32 Her gently pushing the boom mic out of shot was a nice touch
I love Vanessa, she's just awesome
Last year was bad. This one can be bad too. You just need to check out my almost funny videos. 😶
@Neha Kakkar. J&K łikikkukukukuk
10:37 😂😂 " you know who talks, kids, and you know who listens to kids" "Nobody "
I love the lady getting the creepy letter and dropping her baby in fright. That makes me laugh everytime.
Her energy is so fun and light hearted
I love how John's drink keeps its sea legs. No matter how the boat sways, the cargo remains steady,
I can't unsee her as Debbie omg!
This is the first episode I have seen where the actors used their real voice
Can we also have the spin off "History High"!! Where celebrities get baked and try to stay on topic to tell their favorite historical story!!
If you don't then I'm gonna take the idea and run with it.......although i don't know any celebrities......hmmm......new life goal!!
I was thinking about this the other day while smoking and watching other episodes 😂😂
Getting baked can be funny, I agree. Terrible name though. Just my opinion.
“Baked History”
Make it American Arctic-centric and then you'll have Baked Alaska.
Your optimism is so great!! I HOPE YOU CAN DO IT!! 😇
Vanessa is the greatest modern actress part of which is that she never laughs. Never in any SNL sketch have I seen her laughing. Kirsten Wiig and Maya Rudolph made Bill Hader fall to his grave laughing, but she stood there, laughing inside, but dissapointed due to her fictional tremendous losses on the outside. Her professionalism is on another level.
She has with the girlfriend sketch
She laughed in the girlfriend skit where the guy was like, "watch what happens when I do this"? First time ever she broke character.
I think she broke during the puppetry class sketch when Bill Hader started making out with her puppet.
I loved her character on Brooklyn 99. She is one funny lady!!
how the kid hands him the gun at 8:08 is hilarious
"Today well be 'scussing" is a wonderous phrase
You solved the Circleville letter.. by being drunk ..awesome lol 😂
I LOVE Vanessa Bayer.
One of my big time crushes, shes so great
Really gonna miss this series! Hate to see it end, but thanks for the laughs Derek
This was FUCKIN EPIC! Ahahahaha! I would loose it when she would repeat "YA'LL" ,I freaking love Vanessa 😍
I love that Ron Gillespie’s name stays on screen and doesn’t come into focus til he speaks
If I was living in the 1800s I would probably drink a lot too.
Derek playing the statuesque Robert Stack had me iving!
"..if you don't, like... respond..." - THIS is soo 2021!
I've been hoping for a Carrie Nation story - didn't disappoint!
has no one noticed that the 'Women's Section' articles are all dialogue from The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross?
This is the best way for my teenage girls to learn history. I can't thank you enough!
This was awesome 👏
love this woman so much!!
Amber is so cute, and I love Vanessa. 🥰
I want to know more about those letters
I recently heard Amber and her sister Lacey guesting on Vanessa and her brother Jonah's podcast and and it was the highlight of my life
Why is Vanessa so cuuuute
"We dont listen to kids" so true
Greatest criminal of the kind 😂
This is hilarious 🤣
Vanessa is gold.
Can you please get Taika waititi to maybe do a New Zealander or an Australian.
I would LOVE to knock back drinks with you guys!
'side burglary' what's the main burglary then 💀
I forgot about that -- Kansas was dry back when Carrie Nation was trashing saloons. The U.S. Supreme Court had even ruled it was AOK for Kansas to do it.
Mugler v. Kansas, 123 U.S. 623 (1887) (states may ban alcohol without compensation to alcohol producers).
supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/123/623/
This is so expert, dense with minute detail.
VB is great!
Please tell me Georgia Hardstark does a Phoebe Waller-Bridge impression!
Amber Ruffin is my favorite history teller lol
I live 20 mins from circleville lol! Interestinggg
Jesus made wine for fxsake
Where do the actions between Ms Nation's crusade to stop others drinking and the later prohibition movement with possible links to the woman's sufferage moment connect? I don't necessarily see a clear connection there.
Religious extremism on the side of prohibition and an early feminist/civil rights movement happening in between.
And there are many people throughout time who don’t believe in certain liberties, yet still stand for things like the rights of free speech.
The dichotomy of history.
The head of security for the Committee for the Re-Elect the President was "James" McCord.
4:38 Hey, way to honor her legacy :/ ...
XD
I love Vanessa
john early might be the funniest person living today
I love Vanessa Bayer, she's such a cutie pie.

Good morning
This would have been a hoot as the very first episode.
Georgia Hardstark's story of the Circleville Letters starts at 5:26!

She would have smashed your drinks too though... Then no show, so maybe not so much thank you lol
No! What happened to Mary Gillespie?
I don't want to have to do my own research!
Anyone else in love with Vanessa Bayer? Is it just me?
Why did you cancel Drunk History?!?!
Its an unsolved mystery!
It takes the very quick and simple Google search and you got the answer right away. So you don't even have to use your brain
I'm black i haven't been able to vote twice, 2. lol
5:08 - 5:25
I love Vanessa Bayer so much. AND. Amber Ruffin is the cutest woman in America.
Ok I know why we don't have alcohol
In America you can still drink but only if your over 18 since the prohibition era has ended
I never knew that Vanessa Bayer was Amber Ruffin's evil twin...
So Carrie is the original Karen!
Like seriously, nobody stopped her from smashing every bottle in a bar? Were all people soo drunk with no bouncers? or did she have like a serious backup. Doesnt make sense. Try to smash something in a bar today, see whats happens
Georgia!! #mfm
I was looking for this! Go murderinos!
Ohio in the house! 🙌🏾
Carrie Nation, the ultimate Karen.
Sorry but why aren't you guys uploading small videos like before??
Can John just narrate everything
Would this be considered illegal? Technically she's smashing the bar owner's property, on the other hand the bar owners weren't supposed to have or serve liquor. Also why did the marshal arrest only her, the bar owner was the one serving illegal alcohol and his patrons were the ones drinking it. The whole bar should have been place under arrest.
I mean it's kind of tricky when something is technically illegal but everyone, including the lawmakers and police, are pretty much openly doing it. One of the bars she went after in the state capital was even named the Senate Saloon. On the flip side the illegality made it hard to prosecute her. If you were running a meth lab and I broke in and smashed up all of your meth-making equipment technically I'd be on the hook for criminal trespass, destruction of property, etc., but good luck finding a prosecutor who's willing to put me on trial for destroying your illegal meth lab. It's why they police would hold her and maybe slap her with "jail fines," but of the more than 30 times she was arrested only when she crossed over into Missouri and smashed up a bar in Kansas City (where there was no statewide prohibition) did she get hit with a $500 fine - which the judge actually suspended as long as she agreed never to return to Kansas City.
The main issue is that neither the executive nor the judiciary like people taking the law into their own hands, in fact, it’s pretty much the worst you can do in their book; so if anything, expect to be punished *harder* for smashing up a meth lab than e.g. an elementary school.
Carry Nation smashed the bars before alcohol prohabition.
SMASH SMASH SMASH
Kerry? More like Karen.
Slow down
Ahhh, the birth of Karen...
H
Vanessa looks nothing like Martha Mitchell.
And?
