Looks great you guys. Considering spring is just around the corner...and BBQ season too...I wonder if you would consider making a BBQ cabinet (of sorts) that holds utensils, spices, and bbq sauce and incorporates an outdoor fixture one could use to compliment their cooking environment and could be relocated if needed during the off season. Cheers!
For a suggestion on “what to build next?,” I’d really love to see a nice ladder shelf with true mortise and tenon work. Not a lot of videos out there on ladder shelves that aren’t screwed together. Awesome channel and great to see the partnership with John.
Very cool build. I love the old oak wood… so for the finishing, stressed white bottom, so you can still see a bit of the old wood. and the seat a bit darker in oil, to give it contrast..
I really like this content and the collaboration on your channel. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished bench. I also love seeing that reclaimed oak being used this way. If your asking price for the bench is a little below $12k, I might try to purchase it. 😂
Thinking about building this, but sized up for a taller person. What is the purpose of the two short pieces glued and screwed to the tops of the legs? They don't appear to add any strength or support. They just thicken the tops of the legs? Just curious.

Great idea! Thanks for watching!
I would just ease the sharp edges and oil it. Love the square peg idea. Thanks for sharing
Awesome, thanks for watching!
Nice bench and a great collaboration. I really like the way you guys interact between the two channels. Make sure Rob signs it, too.
Bill
Thanks, Bill! We appreciate the support.
That hammer is adorable!
I knew someone would comment! 😂 I love that little Halder cross peen. Super handy.
Loving this! Awesome build!!! I would love to see an L shaped desk build!
That would be cool!
Nice to see a build video. You guys do great work, as always!
More to come! Thank you!
Terrific bench build guys! I would stress the wood a bit more, round the edges and then finish it with Amber Shellac.
Great thoughts!
I love seeing you cut the tappers with a track saw! Great idea - such a great tool.
Thanks 👍

Awesome channel and great to see the partnership with John.
Thanks, Dave!
Yeah I’d love to see square peg walnut plugs and a natural oil finish for sure.
Too late on the pegs but it doesn’t have any finish yet 😜
@@TodaysCraftsmen Haha either way it’ll be a great finished project. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Came out great guys. I'm looking forward to the next build.
Thank you! Hit us with those suggestions!
I think a trestle table from the same type of material would be a great project.
I agree!
Great bench, I would not paint it. I would leave it natural with the square pegs looks great!
Thanks, Cliff!
Nice bench. Awesome finish would be Rubio Mono Coat in Cotton
Good point! A little whitewash effect.
Beautiful with lots of character.
Thanks so much!
That was a such a good build, video and narration on how to use recycled wood.
Thank you very much!
Very nice, rustic looking piece~! Now I have to go back and watch the movie to see where it is. Haven't watched it in many years. Nice job, guys~!
Thanks, Andrew!
Great built, I have reclaimed oak for a project as well. The top will have the remnants of the mortiest pocket to use as a handle.
Nice! Theres a big mortise on the underside of the top!
Awesome job by all. Can't wait to see it finished...🤘🤘🤘
You and me both!

That’s what I was thinking!
People who pick on another guys hammer are only nervous about their own hammer.
Hahaha facts!

Thank you, my friend! This was such a simple and fun build. I think the reclaimed oak gives it a really unique look.
Thank you.
Can I put those additional support wood on the inside part of the legs ?
Sure I don’t see why not!
@@TodaysCraftsmen thank you
Anytime! 🙌🏼

Just going by what was in the film! My guess is yes just to add some strength and visual mass.
No paint!
😬😬😬
why would anyone paint oak?? :(
You’re gonna puke when you find out walnut used to be a secondary wood! 😝
