    Meta Tactical has a chassis system for the Glock series of pistols. These chassis systems aren't firearms, they're kits that allow you to legally convert your pistol into a rifle. Not only is it a rifle though, it's a bullpup.

      Actually, they use a solid block of metal with a smoothbore barrel, bolted to a giant block of steel bolted to the concrete floor. Some manufacturers do give you values for different barrel lengths, but it's almost always this setup.
      In the real world, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, how tight or loose your rifling is in your barrel, how clean the barrel is, how much energy it takes to work the action, and the weight/stiffness of the shooter, will all affect your end velocity.

    These kinds of systems always bugged me a bit because the whole Glock mechanism is designed for the barrel to tilt up when the action cycles, and having a long barrel in there like that seems like it would wear down the locking block and slide a lot faster just from all that mass and leverage moving around. I guess if you're in a pinch in a SHTF scenario and need something you can control a bit better that can also send rounds at a bit higher velocity, it could be the way to go.

    Looking at the barrel on that Glock, it reminds me of that '88 Magnum' scene in Johnny Dangerously - Apparently, they also make them for Glock clones. If interested, they have one for the PSA Dagger, and P80s. This might be a fun little conversion toy for my Dagger, I've done too much to my G19 to undo it all for this but purposefully kept my Dagger stock. The fact that this can be swapped back/forth in a matter of minutes is great for a little variety at the range.

      @Obi-Wan Kenobi Well, I use a Glock 17 with an Endotactical adapter on it and a RMR. Sometimes I run a G17L long barrel on it. The longer barrel only adds velocity. Since the optic is mounted to slide in my case but, the barrel floats inside your accuracy is gonna be about 6moa at best. Also I have used chassis that pistol clamps in like the micro-roni same deal. If you bench rest a gun like that and shoot at a paper plate size target at 50 yards, most would be in about a 3" circle. That would be about 6moa. The problem is you will have flyers that will be at the edge of the plate. It is basically like having an optic that is lose and flopping around. You take an AR9 on the other hand. Regardless of barrel length. I have uppers from 3 inch up. They will put a good group in. Just a ragged hole at 30-50 yards. And out group what the Glock will do at close distance at 100. Not to say these don't have their place. This little chassis he demonstrates would be a great option up close. For sure Minute Of Bad Guy inside of any home. Faster follow up shots. Way easier to shoot than the pistol.

    Actually…
    the booster works by using the explosion/expansion of gas to actually push the barrel rearward, or rather push the suppressor and barrel in opposite directions. Hence why it’s called a piston. Some people think the spring just allows movement but this is wrong it actually uses combustion to push just like a motor piston.
    If you don’t believe it, put a booster on a fixed barrel rifle and put the stick against a wall and the suppressor will be pushed forward if you watch it on slow motion video.

    I have a thing for short handy rifles. A two to six-pound weaker recoil spring should allow the slide to extract the empty cases with more authority. A carbine kit would be more interesting on pistols with more potential accuracy. Someone mentioned Brettas. I would add CZ-75s, CZ-P07, CZ-P09, and all the double-stack 1911s to the group. As Wyatt Earp noted, accuracy is everything," and Col. Whelen said, "only accurate rifles are interesting," so fixed barrel pistols, even in the lower powered 380 (9mm Browning) and 9×18mm Makarov would make interesting rifle conversions. Many of these pistols have pressed-in barrels, so the change would be permanent or require a gunsmith to make a way to change barrels.

    I like it and I think it would be fine for a home defense weapon if you didn't have a rifle. It looks good and is very compact. I think it would help reliability and ejection if you used plus P ammunition. The extra power should help overcome the extra weight of that long barrel. I would like this in .40 cal or 10mm
    This thing would make an excellent prop gun for Sci-Fi movies. I would like to see a price closer to $350 on this system though.
    I could totally retrofit QD mounts on this thing. I mounted one on the side of one of those cheap M4 style collapsible stocks and it wasn't that hard. All I used was a cordless drill and some basic hand tools.

    • @aledrpepg
      @aledrpepg Рік тому

      for $500-600 you could just buy a keltec sub 2k gen 2 in 9mm for home defense with a box of hollows to spare. or even build your own AR-15 lmao

    • @actionjksn
      @actionjksn Рік тому +1

      @@aledrpepg Yes you can but this is a lot shorter and more compact. The amazing thing about the bullpup configuration is you can have something that's completely legal but yet has an overall length that looks more like an SBR and it doesn't lose velocity the way you do with a short barrel.
      This thing isn't perfect but I think it would be a great choice with some plus P ammunition. I will probably never get it but if I had enough money to buy a bunch of things I don't really need I probably would. I do have a 3rd gen Glock 23 to put this thing in so maybe if I catch it on sale sometime. I'm pretty sure the Glock 19 version would work with it if I got a 9 millimeter slide.

    aluminum end cap you screw all 4 sides maybe in heat wrap or rubber so you can screw it on the front end

    There actually is a QD mount. It's underneath, just behind the magwell of the pistol. So you'd just need to put an m-lok QD attachment on the front somewhere, and then you're good to go. That's what I did, anway.

  • @MrTacklebury
    @MrTacklebury Рік тому +1

    At 15:32 there appears to be a socket on the bottom behind the magwell. I couldn't see for sure, but looked possibly like a QD. Also, you can use m-lok Qd accessories for mounting a sling possibly. I'd try for accuracy with an LPVO like a 1-4 and I bet it would improve. ;)

    With the longer barrel and more muzzle velocity, I assume it could be utilized as a Personal Defense Weapon. Some simple iron sights would be nice. A rail could be attracted at the front end sides and a sling swivel attached to either side and 550 type cord through the adjustable stock depression at the rear. I agree with you that it should have some irons designed into the piece. Thanks for the video. Next, someone needs to come up with a multiple magazine carry system for different and similar mag sizes.

    They should provide for bedding the barrel. A heat resistant saddle that screw adjusts up just enough to support the barrel from the lower 3/16ths of its circumference should drastically tighten up those groups if it's barely hitting a man sized target from a 100 yards
