phase 2 5:17:00 phase 3 5:35:27 you have no more unread messages from penglai 4:49:41 we are the sols 4:05:23 thx for making this I love the for all ages cat game
Thanks for uploading these, I am almost always working when Joe streams but he's really the only streamer I watch so it's quite nice to be able to watch with the chat and everything.
I’m so glad he enjoyed that final boss in the end. Was one of my favourites and saw online that a number of people disliked her for the difficulty spike
I really enjoy her but I do have to agree that she is like, 5 steps above everything else in the game. Especially since if you're in the true ending, you can't swap to normal ending for an easier time. Can't deny I felt my blood pumping when I finally got the kill, though.
@@nonofficialdailyjosephandersonI massively appreciate just how much effort you put into these, I don't think anyone would be surprised if you just uploaded raw vods like a lot of channels for other creators do. But taking the time to trim the fat really is appreciated and shows a lot of dedication, thanks mate!
this last boss made me think that deflects should also chip away the bosses' darker red bar hp, i think it would made the mechanic more offensive, keeping the battle's tempo more active, like in sekiro. talismans can deal enough damage to compensate for the darker red hp but in cases where the player does not want to use talismas there could be a jade that made you deal chip damage exclusively to the darker red hp.
The talisman fulfill that function. Just equip waterflow and hit her with it once in a blue moon. The game is designed around talismans and is better for it, I think playing a low complexity build like Joe shouldn't be encouraged more than it already is.
I fought phase 1&2 without talisman (blind first play through, not sure if it was bug or water flow, talisman did nothing). When I get to true ending, I beat her with full control. There's no contest that the game is balanced around talisman, the offensive rewards for successful parry. As a result, using sword only will turn fight into endurance battle. I think the current system reach a good balance between encouraging talisman but also allows challenge run like sword only. The parry itself is super powerful, perfect parry gave you charges for more offences, mitigate damage, build up internal damage on bosses. And even when it's partial parry you can live on 1 hp forever. If it can also chip away the boss internal damage( dark red), parry will be way too strong for anything else
1:01:32, I'm shocked. Considering the number of Jokers that don't trigger on debuffed cards despite nearly identical wording it feels like an oversight more than anything. 3:02:10, I couldn't take Lady Ethereal seriously. It was way too creepy-pasta tier with the tropes. I genuinely laughed at one point. 4:27:45, So far this ending has seemed kinda lame. Dumb actions, dumb reasoning, awkward insertion of anti-climatic prequel content (that no one playing the game alone would feel much for), friend character dying because "lul, my brother could have his head blown off but I'm dead tho". Ending Thoughts: I haven't played it but based on the combat it seems like combat part should be super good. I don't know if I'm prepped to want to hate it because I'm a Hollow Knight fanboy and people were trying to compare it/say it was better, but stuff like the story and exploration didn't seem remotely as good. Also since I haven't played it I can't tell anything about the combat system so I don't know if it's better or just more complex or how it feels. I can say that it is hard to accept that it would be better because from what I remember Hollow Knight's is centered around different things so I'm not sure if one would just be better or if it's just different and excellent in it's field.
One of my favorite Joe playthroughs. I still fail to understand why he would intentionally make the game worse for himself (he tried the talismans for like 5 minutes in total), but tbh that's just Joe being Joe.
To answer the question asked by the streamer: If, in Elden Ring, Ash Summons were made into a reward mid-bossfight, that you can only get if you perfectly block or dodge the ultimate attack or hit their particular difficult to hit weak point, (or otherwise perform something very difficult and skillful posed to you by the dev) and as a reward, you'd get the ability to use an Ash Summon once in the remaining duration of the fight, I would, indeed, consider it disrespectful to the game designer to not use it. It is the same kind of thing as during a D&D when a DM rewards you with a weapon for doing something cool/clever/good roleplay and you just toss it away. The only reason you can justify this behavior with videogames is because the game creator is not sitting across from you at the table and you can't see how disappointed it would make them.
To use your example: Even if it's a reward for skillful play, I might not enjoy how the Ash Summon breaks the fight afterward. I just don't find it fun; it doesn't matter whether I have to earn the ability to use it or not, it just doesn't feel good to use them. I don't think Talismans are NEARLY that bad, but I don't understand how that'd be considered "disrespectful" to the developers in any way. It's just a choice on how to play the game, if the player is having fun then they're playing the game right.
@@devilbob I interpreted that line as sarcasm, making fun of chat by pretending the talisman system didn't exist and using ER as an example even though that game has reward for parries too. Can't blame you for thinking otherwise though, Joe likes to toy with chat but it's not always easy to tell what is and isn't bait
Non official daily(ish) reminder that you’re the goat

Yi! Your Eigong collapsed!
goated for editing & uploading this when it was at such an unexpected time
I also want to tell everyone that it was a 9.5 hr stream
Chat was fully gaslighting Joe about the bell puzzle lmao, it WAS about the tone. The tones are just REALLY muddy. I had to look it up myself.
No need to go so hard with the editing at 3:12:02 🔥🔥
Damn Nodja thats like 2.5 hours you shaved off of the vod
2 hours of the final boss, half an hour of breaks more or less
Lots of breaks and wipes on the boss + the usual here and there. I average 10-12 minutes cut per hour of vod usually.

well thats kinda like saying i want an ability in sekiro that lets me block instead of parrying, the talisman is like one of the central mechanics
