It is truly a fundamentally classic game, and it's been released for less than a week haha. Replayability on par with TBOI, yet also the ol' 52, most universally used generic pastime of the last 500 years.
In the words of NL, "goin to the moon, baybay".
I don't know why, but this really cracked me up.
My child will buy Seed Money (interest cap up) and Money Tree (interest cap WAY up) with green deck (which generates x0 interest) no questions asked

In all fairness, it removes them from the pools, so you can't get them on future antes.

I think that one’s fair tbh because the wording on the card just says “increases to 10”. Depending on what game you’re playing it’s totally reasonable that would increase your interest from 0>10. Money was of such little concern I can’t blame him at all for not noticing he was never getting interest.
@@totalphantasm Its not increasing your interest to 10 though its increasing your interest cap and the wording for the deck is that you earn no interest
@@ravimukerji6609 I’m not saying the way it DOES work doesn’t make sense, but I’m also saying if you’ve ever played any other roguelites it is totally a reasonable assumption that “earns no interest” means interest cap=0 and that increasing your interest cap would overwrite that caveat.
@@totalphantasm At least he should have realized on the second voucher that increases it to 20. If the increase to 10 didn't work, it's safe to assume the increase to 20 also doesn't work :) But he was too busy enjoying the build to notice, he even stayed at $50 after every round as if he could get $10 interest :)

My personal fav is saving 90+ gold at times and not re-rolling for planets/card mod tarots. Cant take the gold home , spend it!
And then to not use it at all as even a THIRD helix. My mental is in shambles
NL almost throwing the run by trying to play a 4 of a kind (when hands don’t score if you don’t play 5 cards) only to be saved by him being overly cautious about the points instead of the boss blind’s ability is peak enjoyment

As a type A chatter I've accepted that the egg plays games like a machine learning algorithm and there's no point complaining about it. Rather than plan thing out with intuition he plays first then takes all the data into his yolk and let's it marinate into truly cracked gameplay over time.

Humans and machine learning algorithms both do that - the difference is humans can foresee some more obvious mistakes and avoid having to experience them to understand them - a machine will only learn after running head first into nearly every possible mistake.
The joke is just that Eggman here is initially making many obvious mistakes that viewers may have already seen coming and would be tempted to comment about the fact that they wouldn't have fallen for 'that' issue. The egg does this because he's not thinking things through early like most gamers would have, he just guns it.
But by the end it works out anyways and he's practically a god at the game. - Peak comment is peak because it summarized all of this beautifully as a niche metaphor.

He was playing five of a kind though most of the time with his heart aces interspersed so it was actually fine. Also how many times did he choose to upgrade five of a kind over flush five? It's not like he was actively choosing to not upgrade flush five, if that shit doesn't show up, then you can't upgrade it.
If there is something to get on his ass about it's not duplicating his polychrome ace because he thought it would get sucked off by the hemomancer, when polychrome is an edition and not an enhancement. But no one is talking about that because as usual, the comments don't know what the fuck is going on.

46:50 for type A viewers - you can move the Blueprint joker so that it copies DNA on the first played hand, and then move it back to copy the vampire for the rest of the round

The most annoying thing about type A commenters is when they comment something that HE LITERALLY FIGURES OUT IN THE VIDEO. Like why are you complaining about something that HE FIGURES OUT???
They go commenting before watching the whole thing. And I get it, if a type A comment hatches in your brain, do you keep it there for 20 minutes and finish the video? I wouldn't.
That’s Tier 1 Type A observation, that wouldn’t have helped him anyway.
Tier 2 is him not realizing Foils, Enhancements, and Seals can all stack and the vampire only steals enhancements
Tier 3 is “he should have fished for the polychrome bonus sooner because you don’t have to proc DNA first thing every single hand” because he doesn’t even think of that until it’s a 1/100 draw.
Ante 12 is truly the wall between regular runs and infinite runs
The game even has a joker or voucher specifically for just reaching ante 12

It's not possible brother. This guy could've had infinite glass aces but he's ignoring glass card.
@@4ftermarchtbf even with a full glass card play you only get x32 mult before cards, which is definitely good enough win a run but for the card investment put in you arguably want even more, my best run had 3 cards giving me over x1000 mult after other cards.

Also, I just know 2 legendaries and both are irrelevant for the build. Yet I'm still betting on The Soul at that spot.
nah selling the 4x 4 of a kind card is the play there he has more than enough mult to sustain by then and the legendary joker could be something that basically wins the run

@@thorjrgin9320 NL is notorious for pointing out his mistakes, and then proceeding to make the mistakes again. It can get infuriating.
Friendly Balatro tip: There are three different modifiers that can be applied to playing cards at the same time , enhancement ( gold, bonus, lucky, etc.), paper type (foil, holo, and poly), and seals (red, gold, blue, etc.). Adding any modifier to a card that already has that modifier type (e.g., adding lucky to a bonus card, both enhancements) will replace the previous modifier with the new one. On the other hand, adding a modifier to a card that has a different modifier type will only add the new modifier and keep the old modifier (e.g., adding foil to a bonus card, adding a paper type to an enhanced card).
I hope this makes sense and helps. I mainly wrote this because I saw Ryan struggling with the concept of adding enhancements to his foil aces, which would work just fine.
To add, the ideal would be a polychrome glass Ace with a red seal on it. That would add 1.5x mult and 2x mult, twice

The 5 of a kind flush vs 5 of a kind was driving me to my end
There is a lot to unpack in this video, but what grinds my gear the most is the Two "increase interest cap" vouchers that was bought for the deck that specifically does not earn interest!

What has happened is that he wasn't aware or simply didn't think that it doesn't improve his deck, but I have to say that buying it would still seem to me to be the right choice: he had money to spare and by buying it he takes it out of the pull, preventing it from coming out again later instead of something of interest.

The copy joker is more flexible than you think, you can swap it to the front to copy the helix for the first turn then move it next turn to copy the multiplier card. I love this game
I've been following Balatro and playing the demos till the wheels fell off. Now it's finally out, my wife can't peel me off the computer. Thankyou LocalThunk - you've made a masterpiece. The way they used the demos instead of early access just built the anticipation so much more. I love this cursed poker machine game so much

This was a lot of fun to watch. If you use the cards to improve the single ace before you dupe it you'll get a lot more out of it. Also, you can move the joker that copies abilities so that you can copy more than one ability in the same round. So copy DNA (assuming it's compatible ) then move it to copy the vampire.
