Sooo?? Why did you take the fan out and not simply separate? I have watched several videos as of late and I’m not sure all data is matching. This look more challenging then it should 😂. No worries. Still good stuff and I know Nissans can be different so I’m assuming it may not separate in this model or year?? I thought I did see the fan shroud while you were removing and I thought I saw the tabs?? Anyways. Juts was curious but otherwise I love the parts and videos overall! Thank you. Keep up the hard work. I do wish the website worked with my browser on my iPhone better…..
I'm confused!!! I've changed my 06 Xterra's thermostat twice in 225000 miles, and all I did was remove the hose and replace the thermostat. I didn't have to remove anything else, just had to add coolant for what spilled out!!!
Thermostat replacement on 06 xterra... Step 1 disassemble the entire engine Remove the rear bumper throw out Magnesium damper with a 17/65 torque separator.....hell far man just to change a stupid thermostat....thanks nissan for shytrecking my life...just take it to a shop and pay $120 per hour for 4 hours of pure bullshyt....🤬🤬🤬
😂. Need to get that repaired fast. It’s jot typical they usually get stuck open. That could be feeling colder I assume still with the fan blowing but for sure I would have serviced. They have good parts a lot TRQ i have installed several.
PLEASE READ: This video is misinforming! the only thing you need to do, is move the airbox, and disconnect the two hoses attached to the thermostat housing, then take the three 10mm bolts from the housing and replace. The housing is on the top right of the engine, and doesn't require removing all this junk, just finagling your way through.

Amateur wrench turner here. Great video. I'm going to give it a shot.
Omg what a job for a thermostat
There's another UA-cam video that shows you how to do it without removing the fan and fan shroud. Big waste of time.

Just so you don't have to look it up, 80-inch pounds = 6.66-foot pounds. Thank you for the video.
What happened to the nuts for the clutch fan I don't see you put them back
This was extremely helpful and fixed my problem thank you!
What happens if you replace both the thermostat and gasket.. and still still leaking? Do i need to use some RTV
What is the other hose connected to the thermostat? One is the lower radiator hose and the other smaller one?

With all that stuff out best to order a new radiator an replace it while your at it😊
Is this the same for the 2015 frontier
Does the serpentine have to come off completely ?

There's so much that has to come off just to get to it!
Why is the lower radiator hose always cold no matter how long it has been driven?
stuck thermostat

You did not show putting the nuts back on for the fan and that step is important for first time do it yourselfers.
