    This is awesome! I love it when DJs show a mix of their serato screen plus an overhead shot of their controller. Helps me understand how they made their mix. Good job Trayze!

    Nothing flashy about this vid...clean mixes, cuts, scratches, samples in key. I love it! No wonder this guy is a former US 3style champ. Very good vid showing some of what the 808 is capable of.

    By far the best DJ 808 demo I've seen yet! Roland should be paying you and youtube needs to make this pop up first when searching DJ 808.

    I love his style. So smooth!
    The only things missing from this controller is a strip search bar and if possible adding the ability to play VST instruments or some midi instruments like piano, sax, and other sounds via something like the MPK249 and have some FX to them or use the same shared FX section so people can play along the tracks to create stuff on the fly not just beats and looped trackes but actual melodies. Even better have a 49 keyboard section on the unit somewhere if it doesn't make it too bulky (possibly front). Then This will be the ultimate LIVE performance DJ tool.
    Is it possible or has anyone tried to add a midi controller and play that and a DJ controller from the same laptop without issues?

    Does anybody know about how the DVS is implemented?
    If I hook my 2 x 1210 to this, would I be able to control two channels/ decks with the 1210 and the other two channels / decks with the platters?
    What about the crossfader?
    Is it a good one? I've read the the crossfader on 505 is really average.

      Mac Joseph Respectfully, no it"s not basically the same. ACB modeled TR drum kits with dedicated controls, AIRA Link, low latency platters, VT etc. Yes AND the onoard hardware sequencer for the TR and the Sampler. More as you dig deeper.

    I wish they had an option that ditched the stupid DDJ platters so all you get is a standard vinyl mixer and a midi sequencer that locks beat clock to serato BPM, that would be f-ing groundbreaking. Instead you get some lunch tray sized piece of ridiculous, no turntabalist is going to use this because it has always, and will be about the feel of vinyl. Sure you can make scratch noises on a DDJ platter just like you can make violin noises on a synth but there is a world of difference between that and playing the instrument.

  • @luja805
    @luja805 7 років тому +5

    I don't get this... And I'm blaming Serato. You DJ dance music like a top 40 hip hop head, something you can do on any other controller, making the features irrelevant.
    Who is the target audience? House dancers wouldn't dance to this. No one who dances really cares about "oh shit" factor that hip hop rides on, yet this person was probably paid to play "faux" edm, deep house, with skaatching? Overall, he didn't even use the sequencer.

    • @jan_777
      @jan_777 7 років тому +1

      Nelson Matthew Nailat EDM, deep house? Have you watched the same vid as I?

    • @luja805
      @luja805 7 років тому

      Samples of Cajmere's Ghetto House "peculator" in a EDM/Deep house/baelearic-like track at 1:00 - 2:00? Nudisco track at 3:00?
      I mean most of the music is synced at 123 BPMs. So, what other genre besides House, nudisco, or EDM, do you think it could be played in this video?
      Are you watching the video?
      And still, the saddest part, an untouched sequencer. Why do people want an 808 if they're not using it?

    • @jan_777
      @jan_777 7 років тому

      Nelson Matthew Nailat I would agree about the NuDisco part, but EDM? Laidback Luke is EDM and this doesn't sound anything close to it.
      And if you watch the video closely, you'll see that he is using the sequenzer. Maybe more like a sampler, but I'm not familiar enough with the Roland to know exactly what he's doing.

    • @scupakus
      @scupakus 7 років тому +1

      he used sequencer, but just a little bit, main snare/clap is sequencer

    • @djtrayze
      @djtrayze 7 років тому +13

      Thanks for watching! the track selection, blends, genre blending choices - thats all purely your opinion. Some people like their pizza plain. As far as hip hop, dancing, dance history, and nobody caring, the overall relevance of that - youre WAY way WAY off base. go read a book and watch a documentary or 4 or 5 and get back to me. And for the record, the TR-S sequencer is running almost the ENTIRE video, including all of the drums for the 2nd half. sooooo.... why are you so upset? lol
