Wow, that recipe looks wonderful. I tried this once when I went to Rabat but my host mother made a very simple version without almonds or dates or meat. Thanks
The version you talking about is called " SEFFA" for short. :) .
Hi alia. I steam the vermicelli 1 time and then let it cook in water for a couple minutes. It gives the same result as your vermicelli. It wil save you time. Thanks for this tutoriol. Greets from Holland
Explained very simple and easy way, thank you.
I would love to meet you in person, currently I am in Tangier for the next two months.
I love seffa I love ittttttttttt !
Omg YUMMM i feel like i can smell/taste it through the screen !
This is what i was looking for but was typing wrong. Thank you❤
you could boil it in water but it taste really different when it steamed. I would strongly recommend to steam it :-)

Thanks Alia. I really enjoy your channel and have made some of your recipes and liked them, but with this one you just went over the top.
Thank you very much.
It will be my first time steaming pasta, but I have steamed cous cous before, so, I am not afraid. Let's see how it goes.
Best regards.
Is this a festive dish i.e for Eid celebrations or is it eaten anytime? It really has the 'wow' factor. Thank you so much for this recipe, Moroccan food is unbelievably exciting as well as delicious! God bless the Moroccans!
It is cooked when having giests mainly.and it is usually the second plate.
That looks soooooo different from what we eat in Peru, but it looks so so good!

How did find it ?
hi alia do you think i can find a couscous pot in the usa ?no use to bring it from morocco XD :D
tbarkallah 3lik Ms Alia Why don't you steam the vermecilli while the chicken is cooking so it absorbs that flavor it comes out really flavorful and also you win some time as well. Good luck
Love it!
OMG, and you said its a really easy recipe........... *fainting*
What a beautiful dish! :)
so nice want 2 try soon
It will have to wait a little bit - Eid El Kabir (feast of the mutton) is coming up soon, so I will be doing many meat specialties but I promise to add more vegan recipes to my channel!
simple materials, wonderful food.
great idea!
Salamu3alaykum!
I dont have that couscous bowl, is there another way to steam it?
hi, ur vid is awesome. can the vermicelli be boiled in water instead of steaming?
no, by the 3rd time you'll realize that the vermicelli is cooked. just make sure you get the right type of pasta - it's vermicelli, very fine, cut into small pieces.
Thanks for the response PrettyinPink, but I meant more like if a tagine can cook couscous with meat on top of it, or does the couscous have to be prepared separately outside of the tagine pot?
you can just skip that part. Rose water is not a real substitute of orange blossom water. That part was optional for decoration. Just use the almonds as is :-)
yes correct. they are steamed the same way.
Hi alia i like to ask you can i use unsalted butter the one in publix if you live in orlando to make msemen and thank you.
here we use vermicelli only in clear beef-broth as a soup.. i like this recipe very much though
Thanks for sharing Alia ! I love Seffa too
One question: why did you add the lemon to the water in the couscous pot ?
Thank you :)
for 2 reasons: 1st it does not make my couscous pot turn brown (when you boil water on it and nothing else), 2nd nice flavor!
congratulations alia
mmmmmm love it so much . allah y3tik shha Alia.
awesome!!!
I guessed it. I hate it when my pots turn kind of brownish when I boil nothing with water in them. What I do I add some salt or olive oil, or sometimes both.
Alia lots of love from Marrakech
Alia, or anyone else Moroccan, are there Moroccan dishes prepared all in one inside a Tagine, like rice or couscous at the bottom and the meat on top all cooked in there.
I dont know Publix - but unsalted butter should be the same anywhere. so it's fine.
Hello Alia,
I was wondering, can you cook this with cous-cous instead?
Too nice y3tik sehha
Looks great, thank you. My other half don't eat chicken. Can I make it with red meat, if yes..should I use same spices?
Wafaa Karkache meat is fine. it will take longer to cook.
Thanks hun. I've been lot of Moroccan dishes lately...I love looking at your videos it gets me motive it and I get lots of ideas. Keep up the great work. BTW you have a beautiful energy. MAshallah.

Hi, I love your cooking :-)...I wanna know if I can just buy a ready grilled almonds? Im not so good in frying things :D..no time to fry as well haha. Thank you :-)
roasted almonds should be fine
Allah ye3teek alsaha!!!
I'm having a hard time getting the vermicelli to cook all the way. After the 5th steaming I just served it al dente. Any recommendations?
just take your computer or phone (now you can download my app for free) with you to the kitchen and it's like I am there, like your sis, showing you how to make it :-)
This looks awesome, can i come to dinner?????!!!!
is there a way to cook vermacelli without the cous cous pot or a steamer? can it be cooked like pasta in boiling water?
waaw
can you cook they vermicelli like rice if you don't have a couscous pot/steamer?
you can boil them (read package instructions) but it's going to taste the same :-(
Mercie bien
nice
Vermicelli here is Angel Hair Durum Wheat Pasta.
It has to be incredibly fine. Not your usual vermicelli labelled pasta.
I wished you were my sis! Love ya Alia!
hi alia ya3eteek el3afeya ma soeur.....voila je ve faire rziza a mon marie il adore mais donc slvp peu tu me faire une video about how we made rziza that will be nice tx n keep cooking i love your recipes
Do you have any new vegan moroccan dishes to prepare for us?!?!?
The recipe looks interesting for a European. It looks rather complicated to make to me, well lots of steps. I know and make such foods myself, but I wonder how the combination of sweet and salty is also. Looks very good, but defin. an acquired taste. In my East. Europe. cuisine we don't mix sweet with salty. I'd like to try to make it one time.
ellamae You will love this, it's fantastic. My husband is from Morocco and my inlaws made this for me when I visited there. It was absolutely incredible! I was not sure about the sweet/salty combination either when it came to chicken/pasta. If you follow the recipe as it states, it's a perfect balance. You'll Love it! ***Love cooking with Alia*** She is my favorite and I've used many of her recipe's !!
K
Why steam the virmicelli and not boil it?
good luck
you can buy it online - check out amazon.com
Where can i find this pasta ?
In any Arabic stores! Especially a Moroccan one.
Excuse me this is not the vermicelli we use in Morocco, this is just a regular one not Seffa
