Lmao did they not do their research. There are a few reasons why wetsuits are black. Mostly heat retention, their main selling point. Essentially it'll be a more expensive, less effective product.
What about visability when you lost at sea to be spotted?

Any clothes manufacturer big brand or not could produce colourful outfits for surfing and there is nothing this family could do, might be a little earner selling direct on beaches, markets, festivals and so on from the back of the camper van, but that it in my opinion
