Björn are you hearing news of Iran firing missiles at US consulate in Iraq? Supposed misses but it is disturbing... This news here on our US "fake news" channels here. Just wondering if anyone outside the US has heard anything? We cannot trust the media!
Thank you for taking us on your journey! I was in 😢 tears when I saw what they did to the Beautiful MAJESTIC Forest! So sorry old ancient ones that were taken from there place on earth! 😢
I'm so sorry to see more of the beautiful old forests destroyed 😥 Unfortunately the same happening in Pennsylvania in the U.S., I'm sure everywhere at this point. I actually just read an article that a township near me just approved a new housing plan for 76 new houses. The article quotes, "It's in a rural area, so a very nice location." Well it's not going to be rural after building those 76 houses! 😔😔😔 Anyways, other than the sadness of losing more forest, this was another wonderful hiking and camping video. You have the best channels Bjorn!
What a Beautiful and Wow Beauty! I’ve also subscribed to Piero’s channel. I also shared your sorrow when you sadly discovered the termites were cutting down the old Tall People, the Trees. It’s is this heartless greed that makes humanity sick and Mother Earth as well. As always Bjorn, Thank You Kindly and Many Blessings with Love, Light, Peace and Joy of Being! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Maybe they apreciate! But maybe it was their only way to make it economicly. Let us think that are working in some kind of work were they have had wery hard times during the Cov close downs...maybe they havent had savings to make it... maybe their only way to make it was to sell their trees.. our family have been in the same situation... only way to make it was to sell of some timber! That was some years ago and right now there is new trees upcoming... 4-6meters high right now... soon a new forest...
There is rarely only 1 way to do something. Clear cutting an old forest should be an absolute last resort. A "new forest" doesn't have close to what a forest that took centuries to come together has. They have sold something that can't be quickly returned for quick money. Doing that they have taken more than just trees. They have taken the spirit of the land.
You and your friend took us to a really beautiful hike and a great sight of the ocean way on top of that mountain! It is so heartbreaking to see the old forest being destroyed, those trees that took forever to grow being cut down without any concerns of their life and beauty, in short of nature where one can escape and feel at peace. RIP old forest 🙏
There is a great reason that I am drawn to this channel. Obviously, for the same reason everyone else is. But I recently learned through DNA that I am nearly half Swedish and Nordic. I am very proud of that. My whole life makes sense now. I am extremely fair. I am also very conservative and hard working. Platinum blonde and very light skin. I have always earned my way and will never give up.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us..I feel your sorrow at the cold blooded destruction of such a beautiful forest. This is your homeland and is so painful to watch it being murdered. Sending love to you & your friends and family.
Hi Bjorn, I just learned of this trilogy over the past weekend and thought you would appreciate these real life experiences from the years as a child to young adult to rewilding as retirees. The shows were created by Jean Aspen and her husband Tom Irons. All the shows are available from Amazon Prime. 1. Arctic Son: Fulfilling the Dream (2013) 2. Arctic Daughter: A Lifetime of Wilderness (2018) 3. Rewilding Kernwood (2020) You will love the kindred spirits Enjoy
Beautiful place. Makes me think I would like to hike there. Not again they cutting trees. 😡 Here in Finland they do the same. Everytime I find nice forest, next time is cutted down. Makes me so angry and sad.
The countryside where I live in North West Ontario is very similar to yours, but we are still under 3 or 4 ft of snow. It will be another month before we can wander in the forest like this without snow shoes on.
So beautiful, thank you for sharing.. it's amazing to see the sunrise over the ocean.. here in Southern California (West Coast) USA the sun sets to the West, over the Pacific ocean and rises over the mountains to the East.
Nice! Worth the wait Bjorn. Stlll, I do hope commercialization will be held in check with voices such as yours. Hopefully, the forests will prevail for a very long, long time.
I Love the Heath (Besenheide, Calluna Vulgaris) Very similar to my area in Germany, before the "Greens" destroyed it, with fertilizing lime (kills the Heath) and "Waldumbau" (Forrest reconstruction). It's terrible whats going on. Norway still seems pure and real.
It is so Sad to see the absolute destruction all about ! , do they not realize that it is their Future as well as their past that they are destroying ? apart from that , a Great video again my Friend , Be Well , Strength ,Honour and Respect .
@@BjornOutdoors Awesome!!! A reply from the great bushcrafter ! I absolutely love your videos, sometimes I watch your overnight videos multiple times because I wait for a new one. Be safe, and may the trees watch your back.
The way they do this with forrests are not good. And it has to change. But we need some woods to go down, sadly they take too much of the OLD forrests, it has to be another way of "farming" the woods.
I understand that you have to have wood to build/warmth and it creates jobs………..but……….I think what’s left of the old growth needs to be preserved for the animals/clean water…..enjoyment of those that “ understand” what it means!!!! Bjorn, it makes me very sad when I see trees being cut down because of human greed. unfortunately this is happening in all countries. I would like those people who do this to reflect on what the next generations will inherit. Destroying nature is destroying the planet and in the future this will lead to the end of humanity. These people forget that we depend on nature to survive and not the other way around.
I am with you in needing to stop this deforestation, it is happening here in Kosovo and in the UK, I don't understand why they have to. At your service if I can help in anyway.
Great video Bjorn, thank you. Heartbreaking to see the old trees felled in that way. The flute music was very apt, do you know the instrument Pierrot was using?
@@piero.visconti Thanks Piero, it was a beautiful atmosphere with the flute. I had managed to find it, thought you might have one in the EarthTone too ;)
I just discovered that you have an outdoor channel. So glad I found it. I spend as much time in the forest as I can, and used to ultralight backpack with my wife a lot, before kids. Honest question about your forest though, you seem to be pretty upset about some logging. How are your forests managed there? Here in the US northwest, they log sections out on a regular basis in a random pattern. For instance, in my backyard is a 2,000 acre ridge line. Last year they logged out like 5 acres, and the year before that they cleared out 10 acres. But these areas never touch and creat a patchwork of clearings in otherwise very dense forest. So it’s pretty common to find a section of forest gone, but then it’s left alone to grow back. What we get then is a patchwork of old forest, 50 year forests, 20 year forests, 10 year forests and clearings. The way it’s done in patchwork like that simulates how wildfires would do this naturally, and helps keep forest fires from going out of control and burning millions of acres. It also provides for a healthy forest, the dear go after the young vegetation that pops up, you will usually find morels and huckleberries a couple years after an area is cleared. And of course, you still have mature forests to shelter the animals. Anyways, I guess I’m just saying, with the vast swatch’s of forests here, and the way they log it in small sections, it’s not nearly as concerning to see something like that. But, I have no idea how your forests are managed or how much forest you even have, so I’m curious to hear your reasoning why you feel like you need to do something about it, so I can better understand the point of view in your country.
its only 100m from the town center . not surprising there is cutting going on. go to the real mountains and the wild is still very much safe from destruction because its too hard for machines to get there
The one who owns the land can do what he like with his own forest! You must know that there are people having their incom from selling timber. Wow. Do these logging companies have permission to cut here? I had a crew do this to my land. I had to threaten them with bodily injury to say the least... and destruction of their equipment if they didn't clean up and leave. They did as requested.
If it is YOUR private land nowone can come and cut it down... but if that was private owned and they needed money they can sell the timber to a byer who send a logging company to cut it down and take it to a nearbye road to get it to a sawmill..
