I'm so sorry to see more of the beautiful old forests destroyed 😥 Unfortunately the same happening in Pennsylvania in the U.S., I'm sure everywhere at this point. I actually just read an article that a township near me just approved a new housing plan for 76 new houses. The article quotes, "It's in a rural area, so a very nice location." Well it's not going to be rural after building those 76 houses! 😔😔😔
Anyways, other than the sadness of losing more forest, this was another wonderful hiking and camping video. You have the best channels Bjorn!

It’s is this heartless greed that makes humanity sick and Mother Earth as well. As always Bjorn, Thank You Kindly and Many Blessings with Love, Light, Peace and Joy of Being! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

Maybe they apreciate! But maybe it was their only way to make it economicly. Let us think that are working in some kind of work were they have had wery hard times during the Cov close downs...maybe they havent had savings to make it... maybe their only way to make it was to sell their trees.. our family have been in the same situation... only way to make it was to sell of some timber! That was some years ago and right now there is new trees upcoming... 4-6meters high right now... soon a new forest...

    • @TheNorsemanRedbeard

There is rarely only 1 way to do something. Clear cutting an old forest should be an absolute last resort. A "new forest" doesn't have close to what a forest that took centuries to come together has. They have sold something that can't be quickly returned for quick money. Doing that they have taken more than just trees. They have taken the spirit of the land.

You and your friend took us to a really beautiful hike and a great sight of the ocean way on top of that mountain! It is so heartbreaking to see the old forest being destroyed, those trees that took forever to grow being cut down without any concerns of their life and beauty, in short of nature where one can escape and feel at peace. RIP old forest 🙏

I have always earned my way and will never give up.

The way they do this with forrests are not good. And it has to change. But we need some woods to go down, sadly they take too much of the OLD forrests, it has to be another way of "farming" the woods.

Bjorn, it makes me very sad when I see trees being cut down because of human greed. unfortunately this is happening in all countries. I would like those people who do this to reflect on what the next generations will inherit. Destroying nature is destroying the planet and in the future this will lead to the end of humanity. These people forget that we depend on nature to survive and not the other way around.

I just discovered that you have an outdoor channel. So glad I found it. I spend as much time in the forest as I can, and used to ultralight backpack with my wife a lot, before kids.
Honest question about your forest though, you seem to be pretty upset about some logging. How are your forests managed there? Here in the US northwest, they log sections out on a regular basis in a random pattern. For instance, in my backyard is a 2,000 acre ridge line. Last year they logged out like 5 acres, and the year before that they cleared out 10 acres. But these areas never touch and creat a patchwork of clearings in otherwise very dense forest. So it’s pretty common to find a section of forest gone, but then it’s left alone to grow back. What we get then is a patchwork of old forest, 50 year forests, 20 year forests, 10 year forests and clearings. The way it’s done in patchwork like that simulates how wildfires would do this naturally, and helps keep forest fires from going out of control and burning millions of acres. It also provides for a healthy forest, the dear go after the young vegetation that pops up, you will usually find morels and huckleberries a couple years after an area is cleared. And of course, you still have mature forests to shelter the animals. Anyways, I guess I’m just saying, with the vast swatch’s of forests here, and the way they log it in small sections, it’s not nearly as concerning to see something like that. But, I have no idea how your forests are managed or how much forest you even have, so I’m curious to hear your reasoning why you feel like you need to do something about it, so I can better understand the point of view in your country.
